Good but expensive salads. Some of the salad makers are distracted and make the salad wrong if you don’t watch them. They skimp on the protein. Lame. They are also very slow and you have to wait forever — forget it if you’re in a hurry… They’re too busy chatting and laughing — glad they’re happy but please make my salad correctly since I’m paying more than $ 10 for it.

Long lines, over priced, poor service. Exactly what you would expect for gourmet salad.

Sweet Green is my to-go place when I need to eat something healthy and feel better(especially after a gluttonous filled vacation). All the ingredients are extremely fresh and every time I’ve gone none of the staff has been stingy with ingredients for me. Though I’ve seen people ask for another scoop of some of the vegetables and the staff always gives it without charging. It can be a bit overwhelming if you’ve never been here but the staff walks you through it if you want to make your own custom bowl. If not, there’s a menu that has pre-set salads for your convenience. The only one gripe I have is the tofu used to be soft tofu, but recently changed to a baked tofu with I think is a teriyaki sauce. I just wish they had just the plain soft tofu but I’m sure it was changed to baked to reach more customers. The parking lot here is so small so I usually just park on the street! I think one time I was able to snag a spot here. It’s also next to Verve Coffee which is a plus!

Oh my gosh this place is so good. I always get a custom salad — kale, chickpeas, jicama, avocado, portobello mushrooms w/miso sesame-ginger dressing. The bowls are enormous and filling. Super fresh ingredients and soooo yummy. The staff there are the best — they are always really friendly and welcoming.

Pros: –organic greens –fresh healthy«LA“ambiance. Cons: –protein portions are ridiculously small. the salmon I received today on the«omega» salad was about 2 – 3 oz. for a salad that came out to around $ 15 this is not acceptable. –very average salad relative to what LA has to offer. I don’t mind an average salad, but the portions should make up for it. Conclusion: Small portions + average salad + $ 15 bucks for something one could easily make at home = will not return often.

I’m not a salad person but at sweetgreen I am! Wow… it was incredible. I built my own custom salad, I have no idea why it was so good. Maybe the dressing? Maybe the fresh veggies? I don’t know why a salad was so darn tasty! The service was good. Oh, and make sure to download their app before you go, you can accumulate points to use towards a free salad in the future. Man, I can’t believe I’m actually craving a salad right now! crazy!

Simple Selection, Good Variety to hit every taste bud. Even for carnivores like myself, I really enjoyed my lunch here. Located just three blocks from the ocean, Sweetgreen’s outdoor atmosphere and spacious interior allow for a refreshing dining experience that transcends into the food. The idea here is build-your-own: base greens/grains, toppings, and dressing. It does not get any easier. If you’re not in the mood to be a gardener then select a pre-made bowl off the wall. Every ingredient is locally grown and fresh as can be, with listings of sources chalked on a wall inside. Personally, I enjoy a refreshing moment in my week(or month) to stock up on my micronutrients, and Sweetgreen is a definite winner.

So good and so healthy. If I had to eat salad every day and it was from here, it would be a pleasure. This was my second experience at sweetgeeen, but first at this location. Anyone who frequents the area knows what a nightmare parking is, but they offer parking in front and in the rear and the wait to find a space isn’t so bad. This place is pretty busy though and it does take you 5 – 10 minutes to get through the line but they do their best. I got the SPICYSABZI, which totally gave it away that the owner is Persian. Sabzi means«greens» ins Farsi. The salad was actually spicy, the tofu was very very well executed. The portion size is also great, my mouth got really tired of chewing all that Kale though. The atmosphere is very modern, fresh and clean and they have an upstairs seating area so finding a seat isn’t all that bad when it’s busy. For those who eat healthy, they have an amazing selection of iced teas with little or no sugar with agave syrup at your disposal to sweeten it to your liking. That’s definitely a plus.

How can a salad shop excite so many people? Psh… I thought. It won’t impress me, I was sure. One bite was all I needed. It was love at first bite. Well…to be more accurate, I was already in a good mood when I had my first bite. Everyone there was super friendly and helpful, and it just made me happy. And really, food was great. I created my own salad with all the yummy, fresh ingredients they offered, and it was one of the best salads I’ve had in a very long time. The only thing I didn’t wholeheartedly love was their drinks. I tried most of the flavors and thought they were little weak. But then again, it made me feel healthy somehow, so I decided not to hold it against them. :)

If your looking for a healthy salad, this is a solid joint. Lots of fresh produce from local farmers! My only complaint or wish list item for Sweetgreens would be to toast their bread like they do at TenderGreens :)

UPDATE: Before you think about messaging me calling me a liar or and idiot(ahem, George M.), I suggest you do your due diligence and check the nutritional info yourself. The full guide is a PDF found at the top of the menu page. Link here: Also, the only things I ate before this were a protein bar, homemade protein shake, and apple… Things I eat daily and have never gotten sick from. But thanks for such an insightful message, George M. I don’t think I could have carried on in life without it! — — — — You’re fooling yourself if you think this place is healthy. I came to a sad realization while looking at their nutritional info on their website… Most of their salads and bowls have over 1000mg of sodium — my salad with bread and no dressing clocked out at over 1500mg. For reference, it’s recommended to eat 2300mg or LESS for the entire day, and even In-N-Out has less sodium in their food! So, unless you want to BLOAT from all that salt you’re eating, stay away. Tender Greens is a much better option, and they give you 2x more protein per portion. The sodium issue alone doesn’t warrant one star, although it angers me that sweetgreen markets itself as healthy. What does is the fact that I’ve been up all night with food poisoning from this place. I’m literally writing this review while chained to my toilet. I rarely get food poisoning as I cook much of my own food, and this is easily the worst case of it I’ve had. I can’t sleep, I’m in pain, I’m dehydrated… Save yourself and go elsewhere. Between the ridiculous amounts of sodium they use and the fact that I have basically been living in my bathroom the entire night, I would give this place zero stars if I could. Parking? Who cares. Never going back. TLDR — don’t come here if you care about your body!

Staff very friendly… And work As a team it seems. Which is good, but when they gave me my lentil soup it was filled halfway. Why couldn’t someone tell their coworker how to give the full serving that I paid for? Lentil soup: a bit spicy, and wasn’t very tasty Kale Caesar salad: i added spicy broccoli by accident, but it worked well with the salad. I normally don’t use dressing unless I am eating kale, but for this salad they don’t give you enough dressing. I have zero plans of being a regular. I’ll stick to tender greens for my salad.

By far the best salad place in LA. All the salads are fantastic — super fresh, large portions, great flavor and ingredient combinations that I would never be able to come up with on my own. The salads are extremely satisfying yet healthy — really love how they put the calorie count on the menu. My favorites are the guacamole greens and the hummus tahina. They also have a rotating menu of seasonal options — I’ve tried several of these and they were also fantastic. They have an app that you can use to order ahead and a reward program — definitely worth downloading. Parking at this location is very difficult! There is a tiny lot which seems to always be full or meter parking around the area. The restaurant appears to be small but I have never had issues finding seating on the second level. The service here is great and all the employees are super helpful and friendly. Seriously can’t say enough good things about this place.

Of all the salad/health food restaurants in LA, Sweetgreen is the best I’ve had. They serve salads and grain bowls for about $ 10. You can either customize your own bowl, or choose an item from their menu. They also have seasonal specials as well. Your food is assembled down a line Chipotle-style, and they have a large assortment of fresh ingredients including different types of greens, tons of cooked or raw veggies, quinoa, wild rice, and proteins such as chicken, salmon, or falafel. Each bowl is definitely large enough and filling. What really sets Sweetgreen apart from other similar restaurants is taste, plain and simple. Their menu items taste less like a mix of separate ingredients seasoned with a dressing, and more like unified dishes, despite the wide variety of ingredients that might be in any given dish. The dressings they do have, such as Spiced Cashew, are unique and just really tasty. Some favorites of mine include their Wild Child grain bowl, Rad Thai salad, and Guacamole Greens salad. All their dishes are very good in general, and can always be adjusted to taste. For healthy food and salads, Sweetgreen can’t be beat. Definitely worth trying out!

I am not a fan of salads and I think its a waste of money when you BUY a salad. My GF and I used to live in the east coast where SweetGreen is pretty popular. I’ve never had it but she loved it. That’s the only reason why I even came here. Let me say this, although I am a salad fan and it hurts me to pay $$ for a bowl full of raw veggies — this place is pretty darn good. It is located on 3rd St which is pretty busy and full of restaurants. We were lucky to find meter parking right across but they do have a tiny pick up only lot if you don’t plan on eating there. The restaurant is new, vibrant and with very good lighting. 2 Floors. Service was super nice and friendly. I made my own custom salad — Kale, Spinach, Avocado, Corn, Onion, Parmesan Crisp and Chicken with Pesto Dressing and it was incredible! I thought I would never say this about a salad but this one was pretty hearty and filling. This is one of the few salads I have enjoyed.

Stopped by for a healthy dinner… pretty loud inside… better to sit outside. It’s a salad place that has products all from local places. Got the OMG Omega with the roasted steelhead fish! It was really good with the miso sesame ginger dressing! Excellent flavor! Also got the grapefruit and avocado salad with shrimp… really clean and not heavy flavor at all… don’t get this if you like more flavor! The drinks were really bare of flavor… got the coconut juice with chia seeds… zero flavor… and the cucumber and ginger limeade… minimal flavor as well… but the salad is why you come and it is really fresh and yummy!

I cannot say enough good things about sweetgreen! Not only are the salads are absolutely delicious, but they are also prepared with high quality ingredients. At sweetgreen you have the option to purchase a signature salad, or make your own. The make your own option is my go-to and I absolutely love the seasonal soups. You’re allowed to mix bases and sample some of the ingredients if you’re unsure of what to pick. If you’re really indecisive, I recommend checking out their Instagram account for recipe inspiration. What I love about sweetgreen is that the company is committed to sustainable practices. They demonstrate this by using compostable packaging, utilizing recycling and composting stations, and using sustainable design and energy systems in all of their stores. Love it!!! They also run a program on the east coast called«sweetgreen in schools.» This program helps to educate children about healthy eating, fitness, and sustainability. Whenever you purchase a salad on their cell phone application 1% of the proceeds go towards this initiative. Pretty cool, huh?! Give em’ a try if you enjoy good food and giving back!

This place is awesome. They have fresh salads and their prices and portions are just perfect. I ordered the portobello salad — the salad tastes great EXCEPT it was way way way tooooooo salty(minus one star). All their other salads looked great, so I’ll definitely be back to try more.

I tried Sweetgreen for my first time on New Years Day and then went back yesterday(exactly one week later) for seconds. Both times did not disappoint. From the clean look of the open-kitchen restaurant to the myriad clean California eating options on the menu there is definitely a theme here: transparent healthy food. Which is a welcome addition to this neighborhood. All of their salads are customizable but they have one vegan salad on the menu, the Spicy Sabzi and that’s what I had.(organic baby spinach + shredded kale, spicy quinoa, spicy broccoli, raw beets, carrots, sprouts, basil, roasted organic tofu, sriracha, carrot chili vinaigrette). They’ll ask you how much dressing you want and how much sriracha you want. Careful what you wish for because that spicy salad can get SPICY, but it’s really great and if you’re trying to get past a cold then it can be an added bonus. I also tried their one vegan soup(chickpea and lentil) and it was really yummy. They remind me a bit of the Lemonade chain but they just seem healthier and definitely tastier. They also have a vegan Portabello Mushroom and wild rice bowl(shredded kale, organic wild rice, roasted portobello mushrooms, butternut squash, caramelized onions, raw beets, basil, miso ginger sesame dressing) and it looks DELICIOUS. Can’t wait to try it. The restaurant provides calorie counts for everything they serve and they measure out all portions so it’s probably pretty close. That’s great for people counting calories and great for those of us who just want to know what we are putting into our bodies. The décor is sort of urban-industrial with exposed beams and sporadic and interesting art choices. They have both upstairs and downstairs seating and the staff couldn’t be sweeter or seem happier to be there which always makes for a better dining experience. They have a small private lot if you’re lucky enough to get a spot and there is street parking though I don’t know how plentiful it is in that neighborhood. I’m thrilled to have found this new spot and plan to become a regular. 2016 is off to a great, healthy start thanks to this new addition to my life(and my stomach.)

When I drove past sweetgreen for the first time, I was intrigued enough to look it up, see all the great reviews, and make it a point to come back and eat here. From the outside it was very hip and cool looking, and it looked like there were a lot of people inside making it a popular spot. When I saw that it was salads, I was excited at the prospect of not having to sacrifice taste for health. I had the Hollywood Bowl, which at 685 calories(as they post all the calorie counts) wasn’t THAT healthy but everything under 500 calories looked pretty boring. I had also read that this was one of the most popular things to order here, and the person working here recommended it to me. Unfortunately, for me it was really just okay, and I could barely taste any chicken in it at all. Just another salad if you ask me. I got a fountain drink to go with my salad, and ended up trying pretty much all of the items because they were all too bitter and/or flavorless for my liking. It’s not cheap, but the ingredients are high quality. I can see why Vegans would like this place since they have a lot of offerings for them, but personally I’ll probably stick with Tender Greens.
