Fast service, we were seated about 15 – 20 minutes after putting our name down around 6PM. The sushi was arguably one of the best sushi I’ve ever had. The fish was fresh and the presentation was great. Within ordering the orders came in less than 10 minutes. The only downside was their crispy rice. The rice stuck to your teeth as you were chewing. Overall, I would come again! SOGOOD!

I’ve officially been here enough times. Sushi Enya warrants a 5-star review. Consistency, service, and quality have not once been compromised in the nine(and counting lol) times I’ve been here! The place has also just recently been remodeled, so the interior is now quite inviting and comfortable. I’ve sat at the bar several times, but tables are also pretty spacious for larger groups(may come with slightly longer wait time.) To start, they offer complimentary gen matcha green tea. Take them up on this offer! Goes great with the fish. I have a few personal favorites that I’m sure other Enya lovers could agree on: — Spicy Scallop hand roll(is not on the menu list!) I think I went in one day and was really craving scallops, so I ordered it and now I get it every. single. time. It’s got such a great sweet, melt in your mouth texture that goes great with a little heat. Also, VERY generous portion of scallop, unlike a lot of other places I’ve been to that skimp out on the good good and sub with rice… — Salmon Belly sushi: two pieces of literal bliss. It’s beautifully marbled, and again has that soft buttery texture. It’s not blatantly fishy like salmon can often times come off as. There’s also a little dollop of lemon yuzu on top that gives the whole thing a very refreshing finish. LAHVE it! — Spicy Tuna hand roll: not AS big of a fan of this one as I am the scallop, but maybe because I’m just not that big a tuna fan(toro on the other hand…) still yummy and for all the spicy tuna fans in the world, you won’t be disappointed! — My friend always orders the unagi sushi. She let me try once and ooooh it’s like, buttery and sweet and FRESH. I feel like lots of places that serve unagi get a little burnt /grimy result, but not Enya. — Lemon Roll: another staple when I come here. It’s a specialty cut roll and the main reason I love it so much is because of the flavor profile and it has salmon inside and on top(for the salmon fiend in me.) You’ve got savory but tangy from the lil lemon wedge on each piece. The yuzu /ponzu(?) sauce the roll is in is the perfect compliment. The only slight gripe I have with Enya rolls is that they are extremely long, but pieces are too thin! You feel kind of skimped on fish with their rolls. If they were thicker and had more bite, I’d love them even more. That’s all I got for now! Will keep this post updated for my 10th(ding ding ding!!) visit.

Dinner date with my best friend [: I’m so glad we chose this place! We knew for sure we wanted sushi so we walked around Little Tokyo to see our options. I don’t remember why we ended up at this one but somehow we were lured in. The hostess was friendly and the wait wasn’t that long. Even though the place seemed packed. We were led to the back of the restaurant where there were these cute private areas with low tables where we get to sit on these floor chairs. I loved it! Traditional Japanese dining style meets american flair ground chairs! We had plum wine and garlic edamame to start. My bestie had snow crab rolls I think? And tempura. She was happy with her choices. I ordered a chirashi bowl and it was a nice big portion with various fresh fish [: We loved the privacy and cute style/setup. The server we had(I forgot his name) but he was so attentive and nice. We would definitely come here again: D

There are many sushi spots in Little Tokyo but this one is definitely a winner! I came here on a Sunday night with some friends and got seated in the back in a private area where you get to sit on the floor while you dine. This was a very different experience but a very fun one! The sushi was incredible. Everything was fresh but be careful… The portions are big!!! My favorites were the lemon roll, albacore sashimi with fried onions and crispy rice. Everything was good but we ordered too much food! Prices, however, are very fair especially for the amount of food you are getting!

I have come here way too many times. It’s time I write a review. I love this restaurant, its food, and its staff. The service is friendly and accommodating. Yes, there’s been a wait every time I’ve been and the inside is small and crammed but that never deflects from my dining experience. The sushi rolls come in large portions so my friend and I always order two together and go to town. The Chef #1 and #2 are great– as is the Tiger Crunch and the W. Dragon. I always get a combo of two of those 4 rolls. The sauce for each roll is just magnificent. I also ask for a side of the eel sauce just because I love it’s sweet flavor. Perfect combo with the spicy rolls by the way! I’m coming back again this week for the sweet potato ice cream. I missed it every time I’ve been here and apparently it’s incredible. Can’t wait.

I love Sushi Enya! I found this place late one night walking to my car in Lil Tokyo. Its a small place maybe 10 – 15 tables plus maybe a half dozen seats at the sushi bar. I think the rolls here are prepared and presented better that almost any other sushi place I have been. The thin sliced rolls are easier to eat and look super cool. Last night I had the Yukuzi, Caterpillar, and 911 rolls in that order. I loved them all, each was unique, delicious and left us wanting more. We also got unagi, jack mackerel, and the spanish mackerel. The unagi is my usual at any sushi place, Its pretty special at Enya, the sauce is perfect, the fish is flakey and perfectly cooked. The Mackerel was just super amazing, the jack mackerel was my favorite, the ponzu sauce adds to an already unusual tasting fish. This being my ninth or tenth visit am not bored yet and look forward to eating here a lot more in the future. The service is always great and the beer and wine(sake) are reasonably priced. There is usually a 30 – 45 minute wait on a weekend night but you can usually get a spot right away during the week.

If you know me, you’ll know how much I do not like the Downtown area. I hate the drive there especially. But my close friend REALLY wanted to try this place so I figured why not. We tried going Tuesday night but we went around 8:00pm and it was a 30 – 40 minute wait. So we tried again last night around 6:30pm and there was no wait at all. Now, I don’t blame them for the wait because it’s such a small place. Anyways, we ordered the Lemon Roll, the Love Roll, and the Yuzu Roll(I’m sure I spelled that wrong). The Love Roll isn’t on the menu, but it’s the cutest sushi roll I have ever seen because it literally comes in the shape of two hearts. I also decided to try the Spicy Tuna Hand Roll as well. If I had ONE word for all the rolls… so so SOSOFRESH! I don’t think I’ve had fresh sushi like that EVER. It was delicious. My sister, who is not the biggest sushi fan, tried the Philadelphia roll and she even agreed on the freshness. Every roll was just SODELICIOUS. With tip and everything, it came out to about $ 35 a person, which is normal if not on the cheaper side. I was going to give it 4 Stars because of the location and the struggle of parking, BUT the sushi there and the service bumped it to 5 stars. I WILLBEGOINGBACKHEREAGAIN.

So many aspects to this little place. For larger parties(8) we got an extremely uncomfortable Japanese table where you sit on the floor(with flat chairs where you can lean back on). For anyone over 5’5″ good luck finding space for your legs because not everyone is able to cross their legs like my friend, and he wasn’t even overweight. The food overall was okay, the rolls were very standard and forgettable. The sushi was good, The Ikura was great and I was surprised that it wasn’t extremely salty as many happen to be. They were fresh and sweet, about $ 6 for 2. Beer list is very short, lots of sake though. I also wanted the shishito peppers(a tiny plate for what, $ 8?) and they were just fine, nothing stood out. The waiter was nice, but he was obviously overwhelmed and could not remember the order as soon as he stepped out of the room and two times he brought the wrong dishes which belonged in the room next to us. I don’t think I would come back. Parking is fairly easy on a weeknight(meter) but other than that, parking lot $.

So the first time I had it, this place completely blew my mind… I thought it would be my favorite sushi place. We had a few rolls and the tuna tartare and everything was on point! I was so excited about how delicious it was that I decided to bring my boyfriend here and sadly, we were disappointed. I’m a bit sad that the sushi here is inconsistent, but that won’t stop me from coming back in the future. I still see a lot of potential in this restaurant. The plates are super long and the sushi is cut into nice and small pieces. Usually when I eat sushi, the piece is so huge I’m chewing for like minutes, but this place cuts them nicely. The service here is really really great! There’s traditional Japanese seating in the back which makes it even more authentic! It’s Little Tokyo so parking isn’t the best. There’s lots and meters. Expect a wait time(usually not too long, under 30 minutes) if you come during peak dinner hours.

In my constant search for the good sushi, I decided to try out a tiny sushi place in Little Tokyo on 1st street named Sushi Enya. Your expectations are automatically forces to be high when the word sushi is in the name of the place or somebody mentions about it. Actually, I came to this place 2 weeks ago for celebrating my dad’s birthday that I had planned months in advance to buy him some special sushi dinners on that night. I must admit, sushi is my dad’s favorite meal so far… Although it’s basically a sushi place, the atmosphere here is more like a happy hour drinking place with happy and cheerful sushi Chefs and waitstaffs. As for the sushi, I decided to go crazy and order a bunch of a la Carte sushi and some other items(See pic). Located in the heart of Little Tokyo, Sushi Enya boasts a lengthy menu of innovative rolls set at affordable prices and served in very generous portions. If you’ve always been hesitant to try raw fish, Sushi Enya may be the place to introduce your palate to the one food I could never live without. The only thing scary will be the amount of rolls you’ll finish by yourself. Of course, You won’t realize this until about 10 minutes after you’ve cleaned all plates nd overeater’s remorse sinks in. Me and my dad started with the Salmon Sashimi appetizer. Each of the six slices of salmon was topped with Wasabi Tobiko. Tobiko is raw roe aka fish eggs. But there’s nothing fish about its taste. In fact, I couldn’t really taste the Wasabi flavor either. You can choose to dip each sashimi piece in garlic + soy sauce-based sauce, but the squirt of lemon was all we needed.(4.3÷5) Another item we ordered was two premium rolls aka the Chef’s special #2 and albacore with fried onion. Each roll is not too thick, but dozen roll slices in total! Granted, that still comes out to about $ 1/Per roll, but we got a lot going on here. Inside the Chef’s special #2, there’s a spicy tuna and shrimp tempura. On the outside of the roll, there’s unagi, avocado, green onion, and sesame seeds. Underneath the roll is chili oil and eel sauce.(4.5÷5) Seard sushi aka Toro, Negitoro, Salmon, Squid etc, Enya does have a seard sushi set my dad asked me to order which was a great deal, I think Squid one is the best because I tend to like cooked Squid more than uncooked one anyway. The fatty pieces like Toro also benefited from the light torching.(4.3÷5) The albacore with fried onion was also delicious. Inside, there’s imitation crab salad which is commonly used in a California roll in most decent sushi shops and a shrimp tempura as I mentioned. Outside, there’s albacore, avocado, fried onion, and sesame seeds. And a nice spicy garlic ponzu sauce on the bottom of the roll.(4.5÷5) AC Millan Roll aka baked lobster roll, it was just mediocre at the best. Not the best lobster rolls I’ve ever had in my life meaning that it’s not soggy nor too greasy at all.(3.5÷5) Lemon Roll, as one of other Unilocalers might have said this before, this rolls are not difficult to distinguish it from others cause it has tiny bits of lemons on the top of the rolls. For me, Lemon Roll taste reminds me a bit of fish ceviche cause it has nice and refreshing taste and flavor after the one bite. One of the most unique item here in Enya. Balance of tart citrus with sweet fish. One of the most popular item here in Enya.(4.5÷5) All of these ingredients in, on, and around a roll may be a bit too much for the purist sushi eater, but once in awhile, a sushi party in your mouth is acceptable. Prices — Not outrageous, but certainly don’t come here if you are looking for bargains. My only complaint was that even though the service was attentive, the hot Greentea was barely lukewarm. There’s something that the waitress should have been aware without being told. The tea was actually served from termo-pitcher, so it needs to be checked periodically for the temperature. Did I mention that this place is known for super duper long rolls? YES, in my 3rd paragraph. Therefore, Sushi Enya certainly deserves its reputation for one of best sushi place in Little Tokyo besides Sushi Gen right cross down the Alameda street. So, check out Sushi Enya for your quick and easy but also delicious sushi fix that I should recommend this place to sushi lovers right there! Don’t be discouraged if there’s a long line cause the wait goes fast, much less than estimated time given. Please, take a note of their hours tough! Specifically, they are closed on every Mondays. Bön Appetits!

I am definitely a fan of this non-discrete sushi joint on 1st street in Little Tokyo. This place closes at 1 am, but regardless, be prepared to wait. They don’t accept reservations, period. I tried several sushi and sashimi including albacore, yellow tail, toro, amaebi, ocean trout, and salmon. Nothing disappointed. All tasted fresh, silky, and buttery(if applicable). I believe toro is the most expensive sushi item, and although it was good, save yourself a few bucks and try some other stuff. Don’t get me wrong, the toro was buttery and meaty, but I’ve had better. If your stomach requires it, get it. Service was prompt and courteous. It’s a small place, but they do have a couple of traditional Japanese style seating booths in the back(accommodates 6 to 7).

Sushi is my favorite food and I can honestly say this place makes a mean sushi. In the heart of Little Tokyo next to Daikokuya and Maragume Monzo, this area is always packed. Don’t fret, there’s a bar next door, Little Tokyo shopping area across the street, and a mall around too. Yuki Special — In: Crab Salad, Shrimp Tempura Out: Crab Salad, Tuna, Avocado, Green Onion, Sesame, Eel Sauce, Chili Oil AMAZING. The flavors are out of this world. The sesame, the eel sauce, the chili oil all complement each other so well. Top it off with some crab and you’ve got yourself some mind-blowing good sushi. Lemon Roll — Salmon, Spicy Salmon Lemon, Avocado, Cucumber Although this was recommended as one of the most popular, I thought it wasn’t as good as the Yuki Special. It was still pretty tasty though. Our waitress was super nice. Our drinks were never empty and right after we finished a plate, the plate would be taken away immediately. It’s like she was watching us the whole time… Sushi enYAAAAAAAA!

I’m a big fan of Sushi Enya. The menu consists mostly of rolls – everything I’ve ever ordered has been fantastic and the fish is fresh. But really, the best thing about this sushi place is that the presentation of the rolls is perfect. Not only are they extra long, but, more importantly, they are cut into bite sized pieces so you don’t have to embarrass yourself in front of your date as you attempt to shove a huge piece of sushi in your mouth!!! Thank you for not making me look like an idiot, Sushi Enya, thank you.

Sushi Enya was delicious– literally tasted like pillows in my mouth! I got the tiger crunch roll, spicy tuna on the rice and honestly I love how thin they slice the pieces and the presentation is great on the long sushi plates. I also ordered Kirin beer which is on tap and it was super crisp and refreshing. I will definitely return to try some of their other sushi rolls!

Thanks to all the amazing Unilocal on this place, we ventured over to this fabulous little hole in the wall restaurant and pigged out like kings last night. 5 stars on price, service, portion size and food quality. Just take a gander at the maki rolls and you’ll see how long these babies really were. Not a joke. Some of their awesome must-haves: Salmon belly and Uni sashimi — OMG, melt in your mouth good. Tuna tartar — Tasted amazing and I loved the«Roll it up yourself» presentation Yuzu designer rolls — Mile long rolls of yumminess! Crispy spicy salmon — The crispy rice cake went awesome with spicy mix. Hamachi collar — Perfectly grilled and ginormous. Double the size I’m used to seeing from the ones I’ve tried in Boston. Again, so affordable and delicious, we felt like bandits stealing their food at this price. My siblings even commented that the Sake was very good and super affordable as well.

Spotted in the heart of Jtown close by to Far Bar. Park in the parking structure across the street. If you are lucky, you might be able to find a space on the street. This place is known for serving long dishes of sushi. It looks like a lot of sushi. But it’s served in 12 thin slices of sushi 12 per order. The fish was fresh and served quick. It’s a lot of food, so pls be prepare for family style dining so you can try more dishes. I highly recommend the charashi bowl for $ 18.50. They used to serve with Uni but not anymore. The bowl is a huge portion compared to most places. Rice can be more fluffy but they do give you a lot of rice. The bowl comes with thick slices of tuna, salmon, yellow tail, octopus, seared albacore, spicy tuna, crab meat, and masago. The chef does a good job decorating the bowl into a fine art. Service was attentive and they do check in to see how we were doing. We sat in the private room with a party of 12 ppl. I loved the intimacy and also they did a good job making sure everything was in order. I also give them kudos in clearing our plates as soon as we finish. I would recommend calling in advance to save the private room for a private celebration. Note: Bathroom is very clean and nicely remodeled. The light is great to fix your make up. Better than most restaurants I have been to. I haven’t heard of this place but i ‘m glad i came. I would come back again for another celebration.

I recently came to the realization that there are a ton of really good sushi places located in Los Angeles that have become popular in the recent years. One of which is Sushi Enya. When my friends wanted to eat at a restaurant close to Far Bar, we realized Sushi Enya was not only conveniently right next to Far Bar, but had pretty good reviews and ratings. This place also was highly recommended by a friend who has a pretty sophisticated sushi palate, so we all decided on Sushi Enya with fairly high hopes. Sushi Enya is quite small, but there is street parking(if you’re lucky) or a parking structure a few blocks down where you’re only required to pay a flat fee after a certain time. We thought there would be a long wait despite it being a weeknight, but surprisingly there wasn’t a wait at all. Since we were a party of six, we were given our own room with those old fashioned screen doors where we were required to sit on the floor and have a pretty authentic Japanese meal. It was pretty neat to dine in that room, but after a few minutes, my feet were hurting from sitting on the floor. I think we all needed to occasionally stretch our legs because we weren’t used to eating like that. Ambiance of the restaurant is pretty typical of a Japanese restaurant. Lights are quite dim, lots of Japanese artwork and posters, pictures of the sushi, etc. I feel like this would probably be a good place to take a close friend to eat. They’re known for their super long rolls, but even though we ordered a lot of food, we didn’t feel«full» by the time our meal was over. Lemon Roll: Salmon, spicy salmon, avocado, cucumber, and lemon. Each roll had a tiny sliver of lemon on top, allowing us to distinguish this from the other rolls. It was pretty good! I enjoy salmon, especially with lemon squirted on top, so having the tanginess of the lemon mixed in with the roll was refreshing. Yuzu Roll: Yellowtail, spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, and smelt egg. This was listed as their best selling roll along with the lemon roll. It was pretty tasty, and I especially liked the smelt egg on top with the yellowtail. Tiger Crunch Roll: Inside has spicy tuna and shrimp tempura, and outside has albacore, avocado, crunch bits, and sesame. This was really similar to the Yuzu Roll. I thought it was okay. It’s a standard roll I usually order in Japanese restaurants, and this didn’t disappoint, but wasn’t outstanding either. I’d pass on this roll next time. Albacore Fried Onion Roll: Inside has crab salad and shrimp tempura and outside has tuna, salmon, yellowtail, sesame, avocado, and green onion. This was different due to all the fried onion bits. We all thought this was pretty tasty, with the yellowtail, salmon, and crab salad. I’d order it again. AC Milan Roll: Baked lobster and mayo inside, avocado, sesame, green onion, and Cajun powder on the outside. This roll was okay. The lobster was tasty, but nothing stood out about the roll. Probably skip this roll next time. Sweet Shrimp: Really good, but not the best I’ve had. The shrimp was soft and tender, but had a slight fishiness to it that made it seem as if it wasn’t too fresh. We had the heads fried. I mean, everything fried is usually tasty and this wasn’t different. The fried heads were good! Yellowtail Belly Nigiri: Tasty and fresh! This was a really good dish. Succulent and smooth. Spanish Mackerel Nigiri: I’ve had this before and it tasted really good. Here, not so much. The fish had that same not fresh taste to it. This fish actually was a miss for me. tl;dr: The rolls here aren’t cheap, but they are long with about 10 – 12 pieces in each. I would recommend coming with a bigger group so that you can eat a little more and split the bill amongst everybody. Each roll is about $ 13-$ 14, a bit pricier than most places; however, each one came with a unique sauce/topping that really made the roll its own! Our bill was around $ 150, which wasn’t too bad after splitting it although we weren’t exactly full. I think the fish here is good, but it wasn’t oh my goodness, I need to go again tomorrow amazing. I don’t know if I would specifically make a trip out to LA for Sushi Enya, but I’d gladly go again if I was in the area. Service was really good and they were able to split our bill into six ways which was really nice!

Came here on a Sunday. It was not busy. Got seated right away. Ordered two simple Chirashi bowl. Waited 20 minutes… around this time I’m thinking either they didn’t put in the order or they’re actually fishing for fresh Atlantic salmon in the back. I Asked the waitress: «excuse me, we ordered 2 Chirashi bowl 20 minutes ago?» Waitress replied: «ohhhh? Okay let me check.» Came back with one Chirashi bowl 5 minutes later. We waited another 20 minutes and then I asked again. «Excuse me but we ordered two Chirashi bowl?» Waitress: «ohhh really? Ok I’ll get it for you». Worsstttt experience everrr. Fish was good though :). not gonna lie, I’ll shamelessly be back.

3 of us, past Happy Hour downtown on a Friday night and we all realize we need to eat. Sushi was the goal, so we headed to Little Tokyo. Ubered over and Unilocal led me to this spot. Stepped in and restaurant was full. Host told me probably less than an hour. Without a bar or drink, waiting can be annoying, BUT we had already done enough damage, so waiting was a good thing. They did have a few chairs to sit outside and we waited only about 30 minutes and before our table was ready. We were led to the back corner of the restaurant. Great. The Hubby and colleague are loud talkers and like to throw in expletives so a back corner is perfect. Actually, a tatami room would probably have been better, but it looks like they only had 2 and they were taken. Ambiance: busy, cramped(narrow seating area), no fancy décor. Drinks: I ordered Nigori sake; hubby ordered Asahi beer and colleague plum wine. Everyone was happy. Food: I perused the menu and realized that the omakase seemed best for me($ 60). Everyone decided they wanted the same thing. When we told the waiter, he said it was going to be a long seating(over an hour) because it was so busy. I looked at my watch, saw it was 9pm, and told the waiter we all had time; Omakase it is. Over the course of the hour, plate after plate was brought of delicious sashimi of different varieties of fish. I certainly lost track. Each bite was unique and I loved the variety. But each piece was very simplistic. No sauces; that’s the way I like it. How can you taste how fresh the fish when its covered with sauce? I remember there was Toro, Uni, Amber Jack, Yellow tail, Salmon, Sardine, Red Snapper, Sweet Shrimp Nigiri and many more. Plus, there were other dishes thrown in of Raw Oysters(delish, ate my husband’s too), Miso soup(this was brought out closer to the end and I was very full), an egg tofu like starter. When all was said and done, dessert was included. I ordered the pumpkin ice cream husband ordered the mango & green tea mochi Both were delicious! Even though we were full, we pushed through and ate all the dessert. It was so worth it. Also, service was very good. They were attentive and kept the drinks flowing throughout dinner. No lag at all! As we left, the group of people outside had grown. We were satiated and tipsy and ordered an Über home.
