Story Room

We had the chance to try out Story Room’s Cosmic Contagion last May and were blown away by its creativity and innovative execution! Two Bit Circus managed to take something we love — a classic escape room game and really bump it up to a new level with technologies we’ve never seen used before, including custom built interactive video game components and even the use of augmented reality. For those like me who love a good classic escape room — fear not! There was plenty of the classic flare to keep lower-​tech gamers captivated just as much.
Like the name would clearly imply, Story Room’s Cosmic Contagion is heavily story-​driven, which always adds a satisfying layer on top of an already fun escape room experience. The manner in which they deliver hints and clues was unique and compelling — under the guise of an AI computer system. Very clever stuff!
Operationally, I really appreciated their outside the box way of splitting this into three 20 minute games that flow you from one room into the next. It’s the most brilliant way I’ve ever seen to increase capacity in an escape room which — on its own is obviously a very low capacity attraction — without compromising the intimate boutique feeling of the game.
It’s my understanding that Cosmic Contagion was more a proof of concept than a long term extension of their business — but I’d be absolutely thrilled to find another version of Story Room running on one of my future trips out to LA! Great job — great attraction and great, passionate staff running it!

Amazing! Best props and story I’ve ever seen in a room escape. These guys do it right!

This was terrific! My son (16) and I joined 3 others in «saving the world». It wasn’t 1 room it was 3 rooms of puzzles and tasks. We worked together. It was really fun and totally unique to anything I’ve ever experienced. Think of it as a live action video game. We had a great group!
Make sure you give yourself time to find it, is a little tricky. Do it! You won’t be sorry!
