The restaurant was dead and the service was very slow. Food was mediocre. New york strip came cold. Dessert was nothing desirable. Prefer boa or maestro ten times over. Wouldn’t come back for steak.

So we came here on our first night in LA. We were so excited to be in LA and I heard this was one of the best steakhouses in the city. I was certainly not disappointed. This place is very trendy and has a DJ spinning music in a booth in the restaurant. For dinner I ordered the New York strip steak and we got the mac & cheese and mushrooms. The mushrooms were some of the best I have ever had in my entire life it’s what some foodie dreams are made of. The mac & cheese was pretty good too. For dessert we ordered the mini ice cream cones they were so adorable and perfect size for dessert. The service was good and the food was top notch you can’t go wrong. My only criticism was for the prices of the sides I expected them to be a bit bigger usually most steakhouses sides are served family style to accommodate for the high prices. Hey! at least the bread was free, which is saying a lot compared to most upscale restaurants nowadays. All things considered I did enjoy my dinner very much and I’m interested in trying the STK in Miami.

I went to STK recently on a great deal. Suzanne hooked us up with an awesome reservation and we both has a 3 course meal and 2 wines. We started with the chopped vegetable salad and the lettuce wedges. I preferred the chopped veggie salad, the dressing was so good. For our mains, we got the skirt steak and the chicken with a side of hericot vert and truffle fries. My boyfriend preferred the steak but i loved the chicken. It was super juicy! The truffle fries were good, I just wish they were a bit crispier. I never eat hericot vert and these guys made them super well! By the end, we had another wine, proseco and dessert but I was way to full and satisfied to continue. Loved it though and it was really well priced. Will go back again!

STK has moved to the Westwood area. Ambiance is very hip. They have a live DJ. Service was just«eh». Food wise: scallops appetizer is awesome!!! Steak: ordered the 24oz porterhouse medium rare! Tons of peppers covering the steak! The steak I received was actually WELLDONE!!! Sides: lobster mac&cheese: it’s just ok. Not worth $ 36 tho Truffle fries: Not good at all! Potatoes are cut really thick, and it needs more truffle oil to compensate the huge cuts of potatoes. Am I coming back? I’d rather go to Mortons Steak House in Beverly Hills to eat a nice cut of meat.

Met up for a friend’s birthday and I loved the vibe in there. The DJ spinning played a lot of the same songs, so maybe switching it up would be nice. The drinks are strong and delicious!!! So that was a plus! I ordered the duck, which was very flavorful and cooked perfectly! Tried the truffle fries, mushrooms, and shrimp cocktail. All were delicious! The shrimp were pretty big, but you only get 4. The waiter, Mike, was awesome! He was attentive and on top of everything! I would definitely come back again! Food, drinks, service, and ambiance was great!

Seriously don’t waste your money. HORRIBLE steak tasted like a wet rag. My fiancé had food poisoning for 3 days. I had stomach illnesses the following day.

Q: Why can’t the bankrupt cowboy complain? A: He’s got no beef. Ordered: *Wild mushrooms $ 12– my hubby said this side dish was bomb dot com! he killed it and wished there was more. every mushroom he dropped on the table by accident he felt like he was wasting such goodness. *Sweet cream corn pudding $ 12 — yummy! Kinda reminds me of a combination of mashed potatoes puréed. this thing was sooooooo good that i licked the spoon. i even looked up the recipe once i got home. can’t wait to try it in my own kitchen. *Truffles garlic fries — $ 12 — my hubby and I love truffle fries and we tend to always order it wherever we go. Seeing pictures of it on Unilocal made us curious and kinda interested in knowing how it taste like. If you like steak cut fries then you’ll probably like it. We didn’t care for it very much. Out of everything we ordered it was the worst item. Not enough truffle or garlic on the fries. With each bite it was mainly just the potato. we’re also not huge fans of steak cut fries so that would also be another reason why it didn’t taste that great to us. *shellfish platter– $ 32 pp a minimum of 2 which comes with king crab, oysters, shrimp, and ceviche. delicious! super simple yet so tasty! *20 oz bone in rib eye– $ 52 Steak was well seasoned already. Didn’t need dipping sauces. STK dipping sauce is similar to A1. i was pleasantly surprised at how good their steak was. even though the waiter, Mike, informed us that they were known for their steaks. *coke $ 4 décor: very chic and modern. overall thoughts: they provide a free small dessert for your birthday and they even sing happy birthday to you. :) none of that cheesiness that makes you totally embarrassed, thankfully! i heard that sometimes there are celebrities that dine here. i was hoping to see someone famous but unfortunately i just wasn’t in luck. besides the truffle fries and the chef forgetting to give us the ceviche on our shelfish platter everything was delicious and very enjoyable! i would totally recommend steak lovers to come to STK. you truly wouldn’t be disappointed! but please do yourself a favor and order the sweet cream corn pudding! it’s totally worth it! my mouth is totally watering as i reminisce about how delicious it was! tips: *Takes reservations. *Indoor seating only. *Located in the W hotel. *Dimmed lighting. *Serves alcohol. *has a bar area. *Cash and credit card accepted. *valet parking or street metered parking. if its not metered then you must have a permit.

Walked in with a reservation and was told that I can either get seated right away on the worst area(behind a post) or wait be seated in a better area but I have to leave in an hour because of a big party coming shortly. Are you serious??? This was my 18th wedding anniversary dinner and expected STK to be a high end well mannered restaurant since it was at the W. Big mistake! Although they made it up by serving 2 free glasses of champagne, the passion was gone. Thank God the waiter we had tried to make it right but it was too late. Appetizers need a lot of work though the duck dish was good. Without passion, the food means nothing anyway. If you’re looking for a romantic dinner, this is not the place. Very disappointed.

Everything we ordered is good! The porterhouse steak is very delicious. It can actually serve 3 people. The quinoa salad that accompanies the free range chicken is good too! I think it’s actually better than the Kale sprouts. We ordered Tuna Tartare and Scallops! It’s only good for 2 people but the food was worth it!!!

And did I say LOVE the DJ too ! Happy Customer !

While staying at the W Hotel in Beverly Hills for work, I decided to stay in for dinner and I am so happy I did. Typically I walk or Über to a specific place I have been wanting to try. On this evening however, when looking up restaurants that were close, the first one mentioned was STK, which is set right in the hotel. After looking over the menu online, I decided this place would be perfect! Just like the rest of the hotel, STK is gorgeous! The décor is modern, chic, and offers a pleasantly cool atmosphere. There is a lot of seating room with a full bar and a DJ spinning. The food is exquisite. There are quite a number of delicious items to choose from on the menu… from steak to lobster to pasta, everything is top notch and decadent. I chose the Maine Lobster and a side of Mac & Cheese which is noted as a very popular choice, and with good reason. Both of these items were unbelievably delicious. The Maine Lobster was quite large and prepared beautifully. It comes with butter, lemon and a bit of lobster bisque The Mac & Cheese was also to die for, and as you can imagine it was incredibly cheese and creamy. The wine and cocktail menus provide a long list of superb items as well, so it you decide to partake in a drink or two you will my be disappointed in your options.

STK never disappoints my taste buds. The first experience we had here really surprised us. Imagine being at Ruth Chris having an intimate dinner with loud music blasting with a live DJ! It was fun, young and just something different. Both our steaks were amazing, side dishes phenomenal…(We had mash, Mac and cheese and broccolini.) and Their cocktails Delish! The cucumber stiletto is a must try! Last Friday we came on the wrong day! We were expecting taking our friends to a hip live place and only found the street blocked off, 10 black suburbans outside the W, cops everywhere, K9 having to sniff the trunk of our Bentley, and of course metal detectors in the entrance. Looked and smelled presidential?! And after some googling… Sure thing Obama’s staying here. After much hassle we finally got in! 20 min late and 10 min before closing. Staff was great at rushing us in and accommodating us. The place was completely dead with more quiet music and only men in suits eating dinner. Food again was delicious. This time we shared a bone in ribeye which I’m craving rt now thinking about it. Mash and broccolini and him and his friend also had the sliders which are $ 10 each but supposedly amazing! Satisfied tummies! Def a must go to place for the hip foodies!

STK is probably the trendiest, most swank and most«LA» restaurant in Westwood. Located in the W Hotel, it feels chic and modern, yet lively and pretentious. With the cascading waterfall along the stairs leading to the entrance of the W, it feels like something out of a movie. It’s a great place to take friends who are new to LA, or to hang out on nights when you’re feeling fancy. It is a great place to people watch, and with the lounge next door, it’s a great place to grab dinner and a night cap. With the DJ spinning in the background and the club like lighting, it’s not a romantic destination, but it is a good place for a date. Be sure to make reservations because this place gets packed for dinner, especially on the weekends. Jennifer D. and I made reservations and still had to almost an hour for a table on a Friday night! They gave us a complimentary cocktail for the inconvenience which was a nice gesture and got us good and happy as we awaited our table. Service is just ok, a little slow, pretentious and unattentive, but decent for a place that gets so packed. The food is great. The complimentary bread is like nothing I’ve ever had: served in a cast iron skillet, it is covered with bleu cheese, chives and other aromatics and served with a savory and herbacious pesto, and is decadent and delicious. I could make a meal out of the bread alone. And luckily they keep the bread coming, because the serving sizes of the actual entrees are enough to feed a small child. The steak is good(I’ve tried the filet only), but I still prefer BOA. Their white sea bass though, is fantastic – one of the best I’ve ever had. It is cooked and seasoned perfectly, with a golden crisp sear on the skin. They have a great wine selection and signature cocktail menu. And I love that you can get a glass of wine next door at the lounge before dinner and take it with you to your table. Tip: Valet parking and limited street parking available.

I went to the new location last weekend and it was fantastic. Not only was the food incredible, the staff and service was impeccable. My glass was never empty and there was food on the table all night. The DJ gave the room a great atmosphere too. I would recommend getting the ceviche(probably the best I’ve ever had), grilled lamb chops, and the sweet corn pudding(I’ve never had anything like it!). This is a great place for a girls night out if you go later or a dinner date earlier in the night.

«Not your father’s steakhouse» is right. The atmosphere was definitely designed for the hip adults who enjoy good food paired with good music and a club like ambiance. Our waitress Suzanne was super attentive. They don’t skimp on the alcohol in your mixed drinks(which gets them five stars in my book). The appetizers were to die for. We had a seafood platter with oysters that tasted like they were being sent straight to the kitchen from the ocean, the ceviche topped my abuelas. The pork belly had a delicious kick. All of the food was top notch. The steak was rich and melted like butter in my mouth. My favorite side was the corn pudding. Soooo good. This place is great for any occasion, date night, girls night, birthday dinner, just cause dinner. Put on your little black dress and have a blast.

After dining at STK5 times in the last 3 months I feel I can finally give it a proper review. ATMOSPHERE: They’re right, this is not your daddy’s steakhouse. This is the exact opposite of Pacific Dining Car, Palm, and other well known steakhouses. Its darker. Its got white leather booths and chairs. Its got a DJ — a frickin DJ! — stationed right at the end of the bar. And its in a W Hotel. I’ve seen people dancing at the bar and even next to their table or booth. STAFF: I have had a different server each time I’ve gone. Each one has been great at making recommendations and steering me towards better choices — or even stopping me from over ordering. I have shown up with out anyone at the front desk but someone has come within a minute or so to greet me; they were seating another party. SHOTSHOW: I know this is an odd category, but SHOTSHOW! The servers come out with these sparklers/firework type things and hand out shots to everyone. FREE shots! I don’t usually mix my drinks but come on, its free booze! The shots were good too, my entire table enjoined them. Can we get seconds? FOOD: Most will probably talk about the steak because this is STK, but that’s a given. My favorite here is the lamb chops– OMG. A little crisp on the outside, moist and juicy inside. Always cooked to perfection. Also, if you don’t get the sweet corn pudding you might as well eat somewhere else. You haven’t lived until you’ve had the sweet corn pudding, its amazing. Another surprising side was the haricot vert, a bit of an Asian flavor and really quite good. Looking forward to returning to STK in a couple weeks for a friend’s birthday. I told them shots on me ;)

If you aren’t aware of this already, just take note that this is the restaurant inside the W hotel. I was a dud and did not even realize this at first, since I was only lured to the location after ogling the pictures posted on Unilocal.Anyway, I came here with a friend for DineLA and it was an overall good experience. I had mixed feelings for the food, collectively speaking, but the service was stellar. I wish I’d gotten the server’s name, but I always forget to do this. Either way, he was very attentive, as was the water guy– my cup was literally always full, which is awesome since I’m a camel. The atmosphere was really nice and it was the perfect noise level the whole time we were there. And now for the food review… starter: freshly baked bread(garlic, I think) appetizer: tuna sashimi niman ranch pork belly entrée: korobuta pork chop dessert: walnut-coconut gâteau The starter bread was really good– think freshly baked dinner rolls with garlicky butter smeared over the top and with some sort of herbal-oil dipping sauce to dunk it in. The tuna sashimi was saltier than anticipated and there was a little too much paprika oil for my liking. It wasn’t bad, per se, but I was just a tad disappointed. The pork belly was a little better. It was also saltier than expected, but had a nice texture– crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.(And this is just a side note, but I snorted when I saw what was supposed to be «kimchi» just lying hidden under all that slaw stuff and dripping in oil. But then again, the kimchi is a supporting character in this dish, not the protagonist, so I’ll just leave it at that. Kimchi snob out.) The pork belly was awesome! It was seasoned well and had a perfect crisp on the outside and juicy tenderness on the inside(kind of like the pork belly, but way better). My only complaint is that mine was burnt-looking, but after scraping my knife over it several times, I realized that was just some sort of sauce reduction thing and not the meat itself. But still… carcinogens!): Finally, the walnut-coconut gâteau was pretty good. It was a little denser than I thought it would be, but it wasn’t too sweet, even with the ganache and ice cream. I was a little unwilling to get this at first because I’m picky about coconut things, but I needn’t have worried– it didn’t taste like coconut at all. Either that, or my taste buds were just distracted by other things(i.e., the ice cream, ganache, and streusel).

I went during their soft opening and the service and food was amazing! The new location is beautiful and I love the floor plan. The Space: It feels like a much nicer Vegas club with food. Seriously, the DJ plays amazing music that I’ve seen people get up and dance. It’s that good. The floor plan is so much bigger than their old location and is well laid out so you can see everything that’s happening from your seat. The restrooms are located in the hotel lobby. The Food: The steaks never disappoint nor do the specials. The sauces are fabulous and everything tastes great. You can’t go wrong with almost every dish. The first time I went the executive chef sent out numerous items and we devoured it all. The Service: I was surprised that during opening week that the service was phenomenal. Everyone was on point. Unfortunately when I returned 2 months later, it was really bad. We arrived on time and didn’t receive our appetizers until 2 hours later. Our entrees followed 30 min after and the service recovery was insulting. I hope it was just a bad night for the kitchen because I really enjoy the food and want to go back.

Came to try their dinela menu and was a bit disappointed. I had also tried their original location in weho which was a lot better. I had the tuna sashimi which was a bit salty as they had sprinkled salt on it which is a bit puzzling to me as to why they felt the need for that. For my entrée, I ordered the petit filet. I asked for medium but felt it was more like medium well and was on the dry side. My friends who ordered the filet also felt it was dry so it wasn’t just me! Now on to dessert. I ordered the apple crostata… and it was a disappointment. The apple slices were too hard and dry! How do you mess up dessert? All in all, I had expected more from you STK. I would recommend not going for dinela but rather their regular menu. Parking was valet for $ 7 or metered parking.

Three things really bothered me at this restaurant: 1) The ambiance — It’s like eating at a rave. It’s dark, you can’t see your guests or your food. It’s loud and can barely enjoy an intimate conversation. There’s a DJ on the floor… which is nice if you select the right music to get you into the mood… but don’t play 50 Cent or Kanye at FULLBLAST as I’m trying to enjoy my $ 50 soup. 2) You guessed it, the price — Overpriced. Please divert your attention to another restaurant that will meet all the criteria on your Best Dinner Ever list. This is not one of them. You’d do better going to another steak place for better ambiance, and half the price. 3) The people — And this is somewhat out of anyone’s control. But the patrons here were downright nasty and rude. One patron across us raised hell because he was seated in a booth with too many seats… really? No one wants to hear that kind of conversation especially when you are forking over your paycheck to eat here. Other than that, our food was delicious(if not overpriced) and our server was just the sweetest.

«Not your daddy’s steakhouse» For some reason, I have been wanting to try stk for a while now and finally got the chance during DineLA. *Value 4⁄5: The 3-course prix fixe menu is a good deal at $ 49 when each entrée is already $ 29 – 40. Portions were pretty good too compared to other upscale restaurants. We actually were pretty full before dessert *Food 3⁄5: — We started with warm bread in a skillet topped with cheese and butter and a green olive oil/cilantro dip. We had second rounds of this — My Tuna sashimi appetizer was alright. It was too thin to appreciate the texture and the marinade wasn’t anything special. If you are used to fresh sashimi at Japanese places, this wont do it –The Pork belly appetizer was good with some jalapeño kick –You would think that the star of the night in a steakhouse would be the steak! Nope, the hubs ordered the Petit filet medium and it was was just a bit pink and not moist. I took a bite and was disappointed –To my surprise, my Kurobuta pork chop was a better choice. It was very well seasoned, big and moist, and it came with creamy mashed potato and grilled brussel sprouts We also ordered some oysters that were pretty good and Truffle fries. These were big potato sticks, not very crunchy and they did not have too much truffle taste either. Not worth $ 10. For desserts, I had the Coconut cake with nuts and it was too dense. The Apple tart was better but hard to cut. I love desserts but didn’t finish any… and I love desserts so this was not normal for me! *Atmosphere: 5⁄5. Very hip, sexy and dark. They had a live DJ playing music. Some people even got up and danced. The surprise of the night was FREESHOTS!!! They played the shots song and brought free shots for everyone that were actually fruity and very yummy. Not sure why but cant say no to free! $ 7 valet parking with validation. Overall, not the best steak but a fun atmosphere and a good dineLA experience.

Not what it used to be. The crowd has really changed … the people look like they’re there to shoot a low budget hip hop music video. Mastros prices for a completely average meal, while the DJ blasts old 50 cent songs. The white leather seats were also covered in shoe marks. Another reviewer called it a «boisterous steakhouse» & that’s pretty spot on.

TLDR: The food was not good enough to make up for how bad a dining experience this was. Probably one of my worst dining experiences of all time and definitely the worst I’ve had in LA. I went with a group of five for dineLA. We had high hopes due to the stellar reviews we had seen — boy were we in for a surprise. We get in at 8PM on a Friday and I check in with my reservation. The hostess notifies me that the wait will be 25 to 30 minutes and hands me a few drink tickets. She says you can check back in 30. Okay fair, things like this happen — especially at nice restaurants. The lady bartending was a gem — super friendly and makes a mean Old Fashioned. I sip on my drink and chat with my friends. Time passes fairly quickly as DJ Ivy spins in the background — STK is apparently part restaurant part club. 830PM rolls around and I head back to the hostess and ask for an update. She lets me know(turns out she fibbed) that a table is being set up for us. I say okay and head back to the group expecting a 5 minute wait. As I’m chatting with my group, I’m looking around and see several open tables/booths. There are also other tables which are empty but haven’t been cleared. «Weird,» I think to myself. «What VIPs were able to phone in to lock down these empty tables?» No update for another 30 minutes so I roll back at 9PM and ask the hostess what the status is. «Oh your table is ready,» she says but rocking a blend between a fake smile and resting bitch face. Another girl — not the hostess — grabs some menus and starts walking. Confused, I follow. At the table, I ask if the table is for us and she says yes, so I have to run back to my friends and grab them to let them know our table is ready. My buddy is not happy and asks the waitress to talk to the manager. Manager swings by and my buddy let’s him know that he’s disappointed that we weren’t seated earlier considering there were so many open tables. Manager responds by correcting my buddy and explaining the tables just opened up. Thanks Mr. Manager, our eyes were definitely lying to us. Our waitress tried hard(one of the few non-negative points of the night along with the bartender lady). She knew we were upset so did everything she could to smooth over the situation — sent shooters, two deserts and champagne on the house. After ordering, our food takes another 45 minutes before we get it. My appetizer is missing so it takes another 10 minutes before it comes out. I don’t think STK could have missed more layups from a dining experience perspective if they tried. This was getting absurd. Anyways, to the food. I ordered the Niman Ranch Pork Belly for my appetizer. Probably the highlight from a food perspective. Crispy skin on a rich, fatty and flavorful cut of meat. It was complemented with a tart jalapeño-apple slaw and a warm broth. Solid. The Petite Fillet… fell flat. It came out lukewarm. It wasn’t exactly overflowing with flavor and finishes second to a fillet I purchased from Vons and cooked on my cast iron grill. Disappointing. For desert — Walnut Coconut Gâteau. The cream cheese ice cream went pretty well with the gingerbread streusel. However, not something I would go out of my way to order again. Worst part was at the end of the night, the valet at the W(STK is inside the W) tried to charge me more than double the amount for valet. I literally had to say«no dude, you’re wrong» TWICE before he conceded and took money for the right amount. Don’t go to STK. Period.

Summary: Really long wait(over 1 hr) for our table, took over 2 hours to serve our 3 course meal, food was not great. and some of the staff were rude. Would not recommend. Much better experience at Boa or Mastros. Came here on a Friday night — we had a group of 5 with a reservation for 8pm. Place has a trendy, clubby vibe(with a DJ playing music in the dining room). When we showed up the hostess gave us 5 drink tickets and said our table should be ready in 25 – 30 minutes. Slight annoyance but the free drinks were appreciated. After 30 minutes we were told our table was being set up. 10 minutes later there was nothing available + got 2 more drink tickets. 20 minutes later we see many open tables — 52-person tables in the main room, a 4 person table that was part of a long connected series of tables for a large party(but half of that party had left so that table could’ve easily been moved over and used), as well as a couple of large booths in the back. So I decide to ask the hostess if any of those can be given to our group, but am told we have to continue waiting for a booth that fits our party. Now it’s 9:15(so 1hr 15min from our reservation time) and we are«seated»(the girl with the menus just put some menus down at a table and we had to confirm that that was ours. She did not walk us over there). I asked for the manager and let him know that it took a really long time to seat us, and I mentioned that we saw numerous open tables while we were waiting. His reply was that those tables had JUST opened up but we would get some free drinks because of the long wait. The manager essentially called me a liar. Not only is that a bad way to treat a customer, but this restaurant clearly has some weird decision making processes around seating groups that have been waiting for over an hour. For whatever reason, they preferred to hold a bunch of tables open. We place our orders. Appetizers arrive around 9:50pm, main course around 10:30 pm. We got the dineLA menu and our entire party felt that the food was OK, nothing special. Most of us got the petit filet(asked for medium rare, got medium). Portions were quite small as well. Certainly not something that made me want to come back another time and order off of the regular menu. I will say that the desserts were good, but at that point we were all unhappy with our experience. We got a couple of free desserts and a round of champagne; too little too late. I do appreciate *some* attempts to compensate for the wait, but they were too little too late, especially since I do not drink alcohol. Of course the icing on the cake was when the valet tried to charge us the non-validated price when we did validate. Capped off what was certainly a bad experience. I will not return to this restaurant again.

Valet, hostess, drink waitress provided impeccable service, however the DJ that was in the lounge room was absolutely rude to the point I got up and left while waiting for my table. Had a reservation at STK tonight at 9:00PM. Although we arrived on time, our hostess had let us know it would be another 30 minutes before we get seated and offered us two ladies drink tickets for either the bar inside the restaurant or next door at the lounge to compensate for the wait. Totally understandable especially because it is dine LA week. We went next door to the lounge and got a nice comfortable seat right next to the DJ. Waitress came by and got our order. As we waited, my niece and I started taking pictures, selfies, pretty much what all girls do. Next thing I know I hear a female voice saying something and I wasn’t sure if it was towards me or someone else so I looked up. The female DJ rudely commented how we should order drinks and not just sit there and take 20 selfies. Then pointed to a group of guys at the bar and yelled«There are a whole bunch of guys over there!» Then again commenting how we were just sitting there taking selfies while laughing and shaking her head. Why would it be any of her business if I’m taking selfies or not? I’m fabulous, so yes I AMGOINGTOTAKE100SELFIES! I’m not here to mingle with guys. I’m here to enjoy a girls night out dinner, so no, I don’t need to go talk to those group of guys over there. Lastly, I already ordered drinks and we were waiting for them, thank you very much. Why do you as a DJ have so many opinions and is so quick to judge? Why are you HARASSING customers like this? That totally killed my whole mood and we decided to leave our reservations after our cocktails. It was pretty disappointing as I had anticipated to dine at the newly renovated STK and drove pretty far to get there.

A5 Japanese Wagyu 5 ounces — $ 150($ 30 an ounce) Came here with a group of friends and everyone really loved it! We had actually missed our Lawrys reservation and decided to come here instead as they’re open late. It is in the W hotel, located right next to UCLA. I’ve been to STK before, but only to the bar area, which unlike the night I came for dinner, was packed with people. My group sat in a booth near the back end of the restaurant. The place was probably 50% filled, but it was 10:30 on a Saturday night, so I’m sure we had just missed a big crowd. I got the A5 Japanese Wagyu and a whiskey drink(I forget what it’s called but it was delicious). My Wagyu melted in my mouth and wasn’t overly salty, which I hate. It was flavored just perfectly… So delectable. I also had some bone in filet and bone in ribeye and both were really good as well! My group tried the Parmesan Truffle french fries, cheesy Mac n cheese, and some other sides but nothing stood out to me too much =\ The sides were the least impressive part of the dinner for sure. It’s safe to say the entire group was really happy with the meal! We all especially enjoyed the DJ, who played upbeat music all through the night. I’ll be back, STK!

This place is bustling with full high volume buzz in a dim light glimmer that makes you feel like you were 30 minutes late for your own prom… The W Westwood Hotel is coming back to life again with their renovations and their new insertion of the STKLA Steakhouse on their lobby floor. I recently had the pleasure of having dinner at their new renovated location that highlights everything new and innovative about their property. Although, they are still going through final construction finishes the experience is beside you once you enter the restaurant floor. Reservations are a necessity and once you are in they will take care of you until the very end. This place can surely cure your delectable needs for sushi-esque eats & absolutely steak based inquiries. I ended up ordering: Tuna Tartare(avocado, soy-honey emulsion, taro chips) Yellowtail Crudo(fresno chili, green apple, lime vinaigrette) Bone-In Filet Petite Filet All to die for… Once you set a reservation, you are golden.

We met up my husband’s coworkers for DineLA one night. Located inside the W Hotel parking in the area could be an issue but there is valet parking for $ 7 with validation. Walking in the restaurant has a very clubby feel. Low lighting, fresh look, and a DJ. It was a little hard to hear our dinner companions let alone the waiters sometimes. Some may like this during dinner, it’s not my first choice, but hey each to their own, I get it. Overall service was good and our waitress was nice. We did not see the bottom of our drinks, which is a plus. However, they did tend to take away dishes prematurely and didn’t bother to ask first. Towards the end of the night, as they got busier, our waitress went missing and it took forever to settle the bill. So on to the food! Bread with chive sauce — Good stuff. Nice, hot, and fluffy. Great with the sauce. Pork belly dumplings — Yum. The sauce was really good with it. Hubby had a hard time sharing. Hamachi crudo — Okay. Super tiny. Charcoal grilled NY steak — Just okay for me. I preferred the pork chop. Kurobuta pork chop — Generous piece. So good! donut bites — Soo many with a ton of sugar. Bourbon butterscotch budino — Really sweet as well but I enjoyed this dish a lot.

STK is a swanky, trendy spot located inside the W hotel in Beverly Hills. The food was very good and beautifully presented. We started with the diver scallops with black truffle sauce and whipped burrata salad dressed with a light pesto sauce. Get it! The special of the night was pan seared salmon with a fava bean purée. I loved the pops of pomegranate seeds with the fish but it lacked acidity. The server brought a side of lemon that was a quick fix. My boyfriend had the petite filet minon, which was cooked really well.

Overall pretty solid place. I’m being nice and giving 4 instead of 3 because of two incidents. But they also made up for it with the service from our waiter, he was super nice, had the cutest accent too. It’s a steakhouse and there was an incident in overcooking the steak, this shouldn’t be a problem at a steakhouse!(They did comp it later but my brother can’t eat anything else although they offered while he waited poor guy). Second was the pasta issue I’ll go into more detail. But almost everything I ordered was fantastic and also came to celebrate my cousin’s bday. Here are the things I tried: Appetizers: Burrata Salad(3 stars) — This included a pistachio truffle pesto which worked really well, I’m just not a huge fan of arugula, it’s too bitter for me especially with burrata. Diver Scallops(5 stars) — Ohhhh perfectly cooked, my cousin & I shared this, and we loved it, he said it was some of the best he’s had too. We ordered the lobster ravioli as an appetizer too and never got it. We were really full by the end, but it would’ve been nice to try. Oysters(5 stars) — Delish when it’s my fav, kumamoto! Entrees: Glazed beef short rib(5 stars) — Perfectly cooked, seriously so tender, the best flavor. I will come back for this again! Ribeye was good, one was cooked correctly, the other wasn’t and sent back twice, first overcooked and second time it was undercooked and just looked seared and raw! They finally sent it out correct a third time. Wagyu(5 stars) — I mean you can’t go wrong with this, slightly overcooked but still tender. My mom is a vegetarian and they made her a pasta I think she enjoyed it but it looked just OK. When we called they said the only thing they could do is risotto which she doesn’t like, then she asked if they could make a pasta. The hostess at first was too lazy to go to the kitchen and ask and said no, when we asked again and persisted why they couldn’t she finally went to ask and it was no problem, I didn’t like that. Sides: Parmesan truffle fries(4 stars) — Thick cut fries, I prefer thin & crispy, but they were actually pretty tasty! Mashed Potatoes(5 stars) — Hard to go wrong with these, nice and creamy! Dessert: Flourless Chocolate Torte(5 stars) — Sooooo good with the orange ice cream, tasted better than an orange kit kat, kind of reminded me of that, flavors were amazing! Strawberry Fiancier(3.5 stars) — Separated into 3 parts, loved the pistachio ice cream, one part that was creamy I did not like. The balsamic part was delish, overall OK. Brought out a chocolate cake for the bday boy– was actually super moist and delish!!!(5 stars)

Interesting combination of classy steak house and a trendy place with a DJ. The atmosphere is great, dimmed with cool lighting. Food is excellent. Service can be improved. Staff keep interrupting conversations and a bit clumsy.

Service is 5 stars Menu is 3.5 stars Ambience is 4 Ambience is dark and chic… very LA Menu is great, good array of steak seafood and poultry. salads were not as impressive desserts were average service is great and top notch. overall the steaks were great as well as the sides. My main pet peeve is they charge for the«sauce» for the steak which can range from 2 dollars to 12 dollars for a steak«suace» or topping which can be even butter.
