The traditional pork belly is delicious! The sweet hoisin and the tart pickled veggies are a perfect complement. What a great snack!!! Also seems like a nice family business that to want to support!

Saw this food truck at the Pacific View Mall in Ventura for their monthly food truck festival. I am a big fan of BBQ pork and let me tell you, this BBQ pork is the best that I have ever had! The pork was so tender and they put hoisin and sriracha sauce which makes it even more tasty. The bun itself is soft and the pickled carrots and radishes were good. The lumpia was excellent along with the sweet chili sauce that it comes with. The owners were nice and the food was excellent. I recommend them!

I love The Steamy Bun Truck. Since I don’t eat beef or pork, I went with the Chicken Katsu bun. I am never disappointed when I eat the Katsu bun as it is tasty, tangy and crunchy and its wrapped in a soft bao bun. I recommend stopping by the truck and trying a bun or three. The staff is great as well!

I’m so mad! i just paid 12 $ plus tip(why the heck did I tip?) for two buns and it was awful! My daughter and I shared the pork belly bun and the other pork bun, can’t remember the name. They were each very small, appetizer size. The buns were stale, the combination of the pickles and peanuts and other condiments just did not work. Steamed buns like these need to be steamed and immediately served. These had been sitting too long. Overall, a big disappointment.

Something about the name«Steamy Bun» doesn’t sound very appetizing to me, but this truck’s food is delicious! We got the chicken katsu, egg rolls and empanadas. Perfection! I am now also totally addicted to those shrimp chips. We ordered way too much food but everything was soooo good. Would definitely order from them again.

My office has food trucks come by at least once a week. So far, none have really thrilled me or made me excited for their return. Today, we got the Steamy Bun truck. This is not like other trucks. For $ 6 you get a bun of your choice and some shrimp chips. I went with Cha Siu pork and was not disappointed. First, it came out quick — under 5 minutes. It tasted like someone deconstructed a bahn mi and wrapped it in a bao taco. That’s a good thing, in case there was any doubt. The sauce was sweet and savory, with just a bit of sriracha on top for a kick. The pickled veggies were crunchy and delicious. Even the shrimp chips were crisp and flavorful. I’ve paid up to $ 10 for other food trucks and got less for my money and wasn’t nearly as satisfied as I am with my steamy bun. If you see these guys parked somewhere with their windows open, do not miss the chance to grab one of these. Next time I’m gonna get the combo so I can try the pork belly along with another cha sui. Can’t wait!

These guys came by work today and it looked good. The awesome thing is that it tasted as good as it looks. The only reason I can’t give ‘em five stars is because the price for what you get is a little high. I tried the bbq pork bun and the footine fries, both items were fantastic. The folks who work the truck are awesome, very friendly and extremely helpful.

Ordered the chicken katsu burger– the bun isn’t really a burger bun but one of those Chinese white buns. It wasn’t that great. It came with cabbage salad, and the salad dressing was awful. I didn’t touch it at all. The shrimp chips were a little tasteless and these I also threw away. The only thing I liked was the eggroll.

WOW! just wow and yumm. Was in Chatsworth last Friday night and this was our second food truck stop. I had the pork belly, could not have asked for more flavor or more adventure. It was something new and incredibly delicious. The guys were super friendly and the food was definitely something to talk about. I’ll be there again this coming Friday, taking lots of friends to try more of their stuff. I really don’t think I’ll be wanting to stop at any of the other trucks lol. Hope to see you guys there!

I ordered the 2 bun combo– with chicken katsu(breaded fried chicken) and cha siu(chinese bbq pork). Now, I lived in Hawaii for a few years and I really miss the asian fusion you typically don’t see in the Valley. When I saw this food truck parked in front of Warner Bros. for the first time, I had to try it! The best way I can explain a bun to the uninitiated is that its like an asian taco. Steamed bun«shell» with delicious meaty fillings on the inside, topped with fresh pickled veggies and cilantro. It was delicious. I’m a fan. If I had to pick one and go back to it, I would pick the katsu. It was packed with fillings and fried to perfection. The flavors were umami –sweet and savory. The warm steamed bun and the crunchy pickled daikon was perfect. When they park at WB again– I will be back!

Sticky buns. Ordered pork belly & bbq pork buns. Both were flavorful, but not interesting enough. Price was ok considering all the stuff. Just not my thing.

I was torn, I wanted to try the chicken satay but I was in the mood for a burger. And they had empandanas! They also had quite a few pork selections, but since I don’t eat pork, I went with the Foo Burger and the cold noodles. I love cold noodles and I was not disappointed. The Foo Burger was perfect. Just enough of mayo and ketchup, pickle and tomato on that sweet sticky bun! Ouch! The people running the truck were awfully nice. I’m glad I tried it! Lunch was $ 12

Just tried the pork belly bun and the empanada with shrimp chips. I’ve never had shrimp chips before so the owner gave me a few for free. Shrimp chips, where have you been all my life?! Great lunch! Definitely recommend!

Pancake beef curry blew my Mind I got a chance to try it at the Granada Hills Food Trucks on Fridays and the lack of a line scared me a little but i’m so glad I tried it. They have a lot of cool things on their menu like their Japanese Cold Noodles and their collection of steam bun dishes. My only small gripe could be the pricing seeming a little high but go try that Pancake Beef Curry and let it knock you out.

Out of all the food trucks in LA this is one to look out for. It’s a family owned truck that makes great Chinese inspired dishes that really taste like a home cooked meal. I have had their truck a few times and they always take care of me with great service and awesome food. A lot of their menu has a savory component which I love! If It is your first time here you have to try the traditional pork belly bun. The bun(or bao) is a soft spongy sweet bread that I could eat all day long like it’s hawaiian bread. It’s addicting stuff. The pork you can tell was slow cooked because it is so soft and tender. The saltiness from the pork compliments so well with the sweet bun. Add a can of coconut juice and shrimp chips and you got yourself a complete meal. The Foo Burger is basically the components of a burger, but with the sweet bun instead of a burger bun. The sweetness works so well with the ketchup, pickles and burger meat that you wonder why you never tried this at home. Next time I have a bbq I know what kind of bread I am gonna be using. Not a lot of food trucks interest me anymore, but this one knocks it out of the park. The food is affordable and everyone that works there is very nice. You won’t be disappointed.

Tried this food truck at the Santa Monica business park on ocean and 31st near the 24 hr fitness(ironically) and I thought the food tasted great! I had the pancake beef curry and the pork belly bun. Both were $ 6 each. The pancake beef curry was my preferred of the two only because I thought that $ 6 might have been a little pricey for the bun. While the bun was definitely worth trying, you might need 2 — 3 buns to feel totally full. After having both the bun and pancake beef curry, I was decently satisfied. The pancake beef curry was definitely more bang for your buck. Would I recommend this truck to a friend? Definitely.

Great truck! The pork belly bun and sweet potato fries are the best! The guys in there are really cool and always throw something extra chips, I even got an extra chicken on my Chicken Katsu the last time I ate there. 5 stars!

Bao trucks are almost as common as Korean taco trucks nowadays, so I imagine it must be hard to be competitive against the rest. Steamy bun has a few more items that make then stand out though– katsu bao, cold noodles, and a beef pancake that looks like a giant Asian taco. We had the cha siu bun and the traditional pork belly bun. I thought the traditional would taste more like what you get in Taiwan because of the crushed peanuts, but it still tasted fusion with the crispy slaw. Not a bad thing though, just more like the other trucks out there(but I guess that’s more of a crowd pleaser since not everyone will be Taiwanese!). I thought the meat in the cha siu bun was juicier and more flavorful, but both were good. Comparable to the other bao trucks I’ve tried!
