I like this Starbucks because I can get my coffee fix at 5am. Although, I think they are closed on weekends and holidays. The girls that work here do a good job of restocking the shelves and processing our orders on a timely manner. I never had to wait too long for my cup of joe. Also like the fact that they on street level, unlike the one at City National Plaza. Don’t like having to walk into a building to take the escalator downstairs because it’s so early, the street level doors are closed at this time. This is a waste of 5 minutes in my opinion.

Cool little spot to camp out between meetings or when you just want to get off the street for a few. There is a very small section for indoor seating and you have to prop up on a bar stool but there are tables with umbrellas outside. I wouldn’t want to sit there during the summer heat but in the plaza, there are many spots to camp out and suck down your latte. Be creative.

Very convenient location if you are near the main library. Small store but gets the job done. Lots of outdoor tables and space to relax or people-watch. Open sorta late so can grab a quick snack before leaving the area. Hey look there’s another Starbucks across the street j/k!!!

This store was on my way to attending a weekly workshop. I would stop by just to have a hot chocolate. It’s a small store but busy because of the location. Staff was friendly and the service was quick. Starbucks train their employees well which reflect in their work no matter how busy the store is.

I need to begin my review by saying that I am so happy that I am giving this starbucks a one star review. The detailed explanation of this rating is going to be provided here. I have been going to this starbucks for 3 days now due to being on a training at the CitiGroup building. So in the morning I usually BUY a hot tea and then around 11 I go back to get hot water again since the tea bags are very strong. Today was no exception, I bought my tea. The employee who helped me was named Michelle. She was not friendly at all, but I didn’t really care because I had to go to work anyways, so I got my tea and I just left the store. At 11 when I came back to get HOTWATER for my tea she(Michelle) told me in a very rude way that she can’t give it to me because I walked out of the store!!! She also mentioned that she needs to charge me a full price for the tea… YES, I did buy a new tea(against my will) but seriously!!! How rude can you be to talk to your customer like that??? Plus she could have said I will do this for you the time as an exception… But no she didn’t… At that point I was super upset… Having to deal with such poor customer service on my birthday, made me even more upset. I do need to mention that I am a GOLD Card member so it is not like I don’t go to starbucks at all… Anyways, I called customer service and talked to a supervisor regarding this but she wanted to add some money to my account, which I told her that it is not necessary since as a good supervisor she needs to call that store and tell the manager of the store to coach this particular employee of theirs!!! Anyways, with one person doing this guess what, not only I will stop going to starbucks, but also my parents and my sisters who also are GOLD card members will stop going there because it seems like this company does not appreciate you as a customer. Plus there are plenty other options that we can choose from to buy our teas from. NOTE: If you have the starbucks rewards card MAKESURE that you check for your reward stars to be added to your account correctly. I have called them 3 times in the past 1 month since they did not add about 40 stars that I was entitled to… So basically they are SCAMMING the customers… NOTCOOL!!!

Quick, efficient Starbucks with friendly staff. This time I got the Green Tea Lemonade. It was delicious! This is a good location, right next to Mendocino Farms on the Northeast corner of 5th and Flower. Ample outdoor seating invites you to enjoy the day outside.

Love this startbucks. The staff is friendly and remember your name and drink. They work efficiently and effectively to filter the high volume of people that come in especially in the morning. There isn’t a ton of seating inside but they do have some bar seating. Lots of outside seating which I prefer anyways. Always clean and stocked. Love this place!

I like this Starbucks because of the people who work here. I come here regularly and the baristas are always friendly and makes you feel welcome. This location gets quite busy but the line always move fast. Thank you Jason, Annai, Leonardo(who looks like John Mayer btw), and Michelle for making my visit pleasant every time. You guys are great!

This Starbucks is across the street from my office, so it’s my go-to when my regular one has a line a mile long or I need to get outside for a minute. The thing this location has going for it is definitely the outdoor seating! It fills up pretty quickly on nice days(it’s shared with Mendocino Farms). In terms of service, they always seem to have plenty of baristas on hand, and they handle the workflow pretty quickly. They are all super friendly, and they get it right every time. My main pet peeve with most Starbucks is that they seem to lay them out in ways that are not conducive to waiting in line, ordering, and picking up your drink… you know, the things most people try to accomplish in a coffee shop. This one is less horrible than most — I think the main problem is the patrons who crowd the pickup area instead of hanging back in on some of the bar stools. But that’s not Starbucks’ fault. In all, definitely a fan of this location!

What does it feel like to get to work at 5:45 a.m. I have no idea. That is probably because I’m not a morning person and I can barely remember my 45 minutes commute into downtown LA. I’m normally spoiled with fresh brewed coffee each morning. However, on some days, I have to fend for myself. Today was one of those days. The power went out and back on in the middle of the night, so the coffee machine didn’t brew in time for my dark-thirty commute. Oh no! Never fear. This Starbucks is open and on my way to the office. On my way? I literally have to walk past it before I get on the escalator to head to the tall tower where my desk awaits my groggy head. This morning, as on other mornings when I am without my homebrew coffee, I stop in and find that the staff is there, ready, and friendly. They look a lot more awake than I do! I stay away from pastries, so I haven’t tried any of the food here. However, the coffee is always fresh and the people are always friendly. At this time in the morning, that is all I need.

I don’t mind day old stuff but damnn. If you’re selling stuff that’s older and not as moist, use it as samples. Don’t sell it. I ordered pumpkin bread loaf and rode the elevator up to the office. Had my pumpkin bread and noticed it was a bit on the dry side. Not good! This location is just so so. They also don’t have the breakfast sandwiches for some reason.

For your quick to-go coffee stop before/during/after work, this is your place. The staff here are phenomenal. Seriously. There were multiple people who remembered my name after only a couple visits. Yea, I order the gigantic«big gulp»(cough… Trenta…) sized iced coffee, but remembering the name(and the drink!) goes a long way. With a line out the door they have it down to a science. My only wish is that the USC location would hire a few of these folks to come show them how to do the assembly line right. If you are looking for a large spacious indoor location, steer clear to one of the 6,000,000 other Starbucks on every corner downtown. This one doesn’t even have the option to toast anything. Grab your drink and get out!

Lets face it, Starbucks is not my all time favorite coffee joint but then I’m not a goo-goo-gaga coffee fan anyway. The ever convenience of their locations always wins and this iced tea freak is hooked on the Sweetened Green Tea Lemonade like it’s going out of style. I even bought myself a venti reusable cup bc I drink at least two of these bad boys a day. This location is my new bucks spot bc well, I work right next door. The staff has been just so-so but today at 7:30am it was a completely different experience. I ordered my usual and paid with my bucks card as usual and as my cup was sitting in front of the cashier who was swiping my card my Bucks Knight in bright green BEN was there with his shaker cup filled with my GTL and poured it right in my cup. I was floored. Totally caught me off guard as she had not even handed over my cup yet or called out my order. First I thought I was dreaming. But then I realized that I was not as I was up and in DTLA at the crack of dawn. I’m still shocked but that is TOPNOTCH service for you so you all take notes from BEN! THANKYOUBEN I am beyond impressed and I will now never go to another bucks location in DTLA. AWESOMESERVICE and that completely made my day.

Good Starbuck’s experience. They get to know their regulars but will leave you alone if you don’t want to be known. Very friendly and most importantly courteous.

It started well. The young woman asked me for my order. I gave it as i handed her the sandwich I was buying. As she started to ring up my order, she thought of something and called the previous customer back(with no excuse me to me). The customer and she then got into a «firm discussion in which it was clear that neither was happy. This was conducted with me standing there. Another of the staff took my order, unhappily I think because someone else was supposed to be serving me! When I asked for the balance of my Card, it was as if I had asked her to disembowel something such was the look of disdain I was give. Plus I never got the cream on top of my frappucino :(

Starbucks is Starbucks… the plus to this one is that they usually have all their pastries in stock. The minus is that they usually have all their pastries in stock. Also, their coffee tastes a little too much like dirt… I’m not sure what blend they keep giving me, but it’s not great.

This particular Starbucks kept the family sane during our 72 hours in LA. Although there were other Starbuckies in the area we always seemed to end up here(clarification. the rest of the family went here. I went to Coffee Bean *ducks*). Quick service and clean store…

Hands down this is my FAVORITE Starbucks in ALL of Los Angeles! I know that was quite a bold statement considering I used to work for Starbucks and it was NOT at this location. Anyway, I’ve been working in Downtown for the past couple of years and I work in a building where there is a Starbucks downstairs and yet I still truck over across the street to come to this location. Why? Because they exude the perfect Starbucks experience. This is why I will pay $ 3 for my latte. The store manager there is super friendly and my favorite person, Eric, always makes my day. Every time I come in, Eric will greet with, «Melodia!!! Won’t you sing me a Melody today?» He’s super adorable. It seems as if he genuinely cares about me and makes me feel special. And I see him do that with his other customers as well. And the most important thing of all… the drinks are made RIGHT! Yep, you would be surprised at how many other Starbucks locations don’t make drinks correctly. How do I know? Well, aside from having worked at a Starbucks, my real test is having a friend order a caramel macchiato. Now, here’s a quickie lesson: Caramel Macchiatos are made unlike other lattes. Lattes are made in this order: espresso, steamed milk, foam. If it’s a flavored latte(i.e. vanilla) it’s syrup, espresso, milk, foam. BUT caramel macchiatos are made in this order: syrup, steamed milk, foam, ANDTHEN espresso and topped with caramel sauce on the foam. The reason is that it gives the beverage a whole a different flavor. «Macchiato» means«to mark», hence the espresso is «MARKING» the foam. If you order it upside down, it would just be made like a regular Caramel Latte. I have been to all the Starbucks locatiosn around the financial district and not one made it right except for this location. I even got into full-on arguments with the baristas and was about to have them bust out their beverage making manuals. Anyway, that was a mouth full, but I just wanted to say that this Starbucks is the bomb. =) I can almost promise that you’ll leave this place with a good impression!
