I wanted to update my review because I have visited this location more recently and had a MUCH more pleasant experience. It seems like they hired nicer people and trained them on good customer service.

As Starbucks go, this particular one is below the average. The service is poor, straight up.

Good place but slow customer service. 4 people in line and no employee taking orders! What the heck? Getting tired of this slow customer service in the morning

I came here today to study. Novel concept, I know. I ordered my usual drink and it was prepared in an acceptable amount of time. After a little while, I ordered a lemon loaf and asked if it could be heated. I was told it couldn’t be done because the frosting gets too hot and the manager didn’t want them(employees) to heat up any pastries with frosting. I replied saying that other stores would still heat it up because I allowed it after they informed me about the hot frosting. She shared a story of a lady who had asked for a lemon loaf to be heated a couple weeks ago and was burned when she handled the pastry. I thought I’d share that I was a former partner to acknowledge that I understand how customers may be. I backed down and proceeded to return to my seat. But then a thought came across my mind… what if I were to rip off the portion of the loaf with the frosting and then they could heat it up! I rushed back to the counter with glee and asked if they could carry out my brilliant idea. Then the same employee went on to explain how they can no longer take the loaf because I had already touched it. That I should know these policies as a former employee. Basically, patronizing and lecturing me. Ha. Yeah. Um. No. Rude! I’m still a customer and from what I recall from training, «the customer is always right.» Realizing that I was not about to consume a cold lemon loaf and that she gets paid to provide excellent customer service, she offered to give me another slice, cutting off the frosting, and heating up the remainder. Finally. Let me clarify that it’s not her correcting me or lecturing me about policy that upset me. What got under my skin is the fact that while she was trying to drop knowledge about this and that policy, she herself was not adhering to company policy! She was wearing boots!(see posted photo for reference) Last I checked, you’re supposed to wear proper non-slip shoes meant for work in restaurants and other food businesses. MORALOFTHESTORY: Don’t use company policy against me if you are breaking the policy yourself. YOU’VEEARNEDYOURSELF A TIP: If you know you’re going to negate a request, start with an apology and then proceed to explain why you cannot do as the customer asked. Don’t just shoot our dreams down, crushing that glimmer of comfort from this chaos that we call life. Thanks.

Wonder where all the other reviews for this starbucks went. I find it hard to believe that this is only the second review… This is a standard starbucks. It’s kind of on the smaller side but conveniently located up the street from where I take my car for an oil change. Staff today was friendly and the wait was minimal. I’m happy with my drink and have no complaints with the service here. As for the setup, there’s a large tall table for groups or social singles, several two person tables and a bar with stools as well. Everything looks clean and I’m comfortable here. Overall a decent three star spot.

I like Starbucks coffee. I like Peet’s and Coffee Bean more, but Starbucks is fine by me, and they’re perfectly fine by me as a business too. But the service at this one is so bad I wanted to come on here and warn fellow Unilocalers to be ready to waste 20 minutes for whatever they might want, and expect it to be forgotten or made wrong. My office is right around the corner, and without fail this place will have a line. Also without fail, there will be one person standing behind the food display doing apparently nothing, one person somewhat near the espresso machine/drink making area organizing supplies but not making drinks, and one person on the register chatting up whoever is ordering while the line gets longer and longer. I’m all for chatting up and being friendly, but they seem to have absolutely no sense of urgency here when there’s a substantial line. And the workers who aren’t on register just seem totally idle until you make eye contact, or the person at the register asks them to start working. This seems to be true regardless of who is working, as I’ve been in at numerous times of day with different staff members there. I tend to order an iced mocha with only two pumps of chocolate, which is half the regular amount at Starbucks. It always seemed a little too sweet. After a few months of wondering what was up I asked, and the guy said, «oh two pumps is our normal amount, we have a double size pump.» Well why the hell would I specify anything if that was your normal size? Come on! Just go to the Coffee Bean across the street, I really only go in there now if I’ve overslept and want a breakfast sandwich. Those are really good, and they really can’t mess them up.
