If you’re not a student here, you can’t work out. If you are a southwestern student, you probably don’t have time to work out anyways, so the basic equipment in the gym is sufficient to keep you in shape

Who selects a law school based partly upon its gym? Well, apparently I do. Gay Man+Italian =(GTL) x 2 So when it came down to Loyola Law School vs. Southwestern Law School the fact that Loyola Law School didn’t have a gym helped nudge me toward Southwestern.(Well, okay, that and a scholarship). But now that I’ve actually used the gym a few times, it’s just not all that great. There are plenty of cardio machines, a heavy bag, and a private yoga room, but if you’re more into hitting the weights(see the above equation) then it’s actually pretty limited. Not many benches,(actually, I think only one?!) and certainly nothing dedicated solely for incline, decline or even bench presses. They have a few LifeFitness machines, but again, not a huge variety. So it’s more of a place to go for a study break than to engage in any serious weight lifting. The locker room, however is totally plush. Very spacious and immaculate with private showers: definitely on the par with a place like Equinox. Now if only Southwestern had a place to tan and to do laundry…
