The worst experience ever at Malarkey’s Long Beach. Rude manager with Napoleon complex and slug at the door collecting entry fee for blues band fest. My husband and I arrived at 10:30 am, noticed they were beginning to set up for bands. Our server advised us, since we had arrived well before the set up, we would not have to pay the $ 15.00 cover charge. Then, the extortion begins with the rude lady at the door. Of all the people around, she calls to, me, as I am returning from the restroom and tells me, if we didn’t pay, we’d have to leave… told our server about the encounter and she stated not to worry and would have her manager come straighten things out… REALLY? He told my husband and I if we don’t pay, we need to leave AFTER being told differently… Can’t wait for this place to go under or change in management at the very least… Also, SoCal Blues Society, you might want to consider placing a people person at the door to collect the entry fee… or perhaps feed her first… her blood sugar was probably low and needed to eat something.
