Sonoritas serves Mexican cuisine with class. As someone who loves Mexican street food, I didn’t expect my food to be served on wooden trays and arranged in an artistic way. I was expecting tacos to be thrown in a plastic plate and horchata in a styrofoam cup. But not Sonoritas! The tacos are all neatly places and easy to eat. You don’t make a mess, where the grease typically drips down your hand. You can pair your meals with a smooth Merlot or a refreshing Jamaica! But the best part… has to be the flan and churros for dessert! Ohhhhh dear, finally a place for deliciously decadent churros, they’re infinitely better than Disneyland’s churros! It has a clean interior to match too!

The chicken taco was a-mazing. Meet, and pineapple on top. Tried carne asada, it was very tasty as well. The service was slow, but it was the rush-hour(lunch-time). Delicious!

I went here for an event recently. I loved their presentation and service was excellent. However like the first time I went to the restaurant I was very disappointed with the flavor of their food. The corn www under seasoned and over cooked. The tacos were bland and it didn’t taste like they use the best quality cut of meats. However I was impressed with their dessert. The red velvet churro tasted like regular churros but their flan was delicious!!!

Went to Sonorita’s for a Unilocal Elite event and loved it! What’s not to love when you get free food? :) We got guacamole and corn on the cob(smothered with aioli and cheese) for apps, taco sampler for entrée, and the flan and red velvet churros with vanilla ice cream for dessert. THECORNONTHECOBWASAMAZING. I didn’t want it to end. All the tacos were good. nothing really stood out except for the one with the pineapple. don’t really recall the name. I was really looking forward to the red velvet churros but it was kind of lacking. it just kind of tasted like a regular churro with food coloring. I wish they had incorporated some cream cheese to replicate the regular red velvet flavor. But overall, a good solid place with amazing service to grab some tacos and drinks!

Can you say AMAZING? Finally a place in LA where you can get great tacos and drinks, but with a sheik and trendy atmosphere that you can take your lady to or a great place for a girls/guys night out. The corn is a MUST. I don’t know what they put on there, but it’s pure goodness. The guacamole is fresh, creamy, perfectly seasoned and they give you a good amount. The chips are fresh and made in house and the salsa selection is one of a kind. In regards to the taco’s I got a sampler which allowed me to try different tacos. If you are a vegetarian, you’ll have the best taco of your life. If you like carne asada, you won’t be disappointed, and if you like unique the rib meat taco is something you have for sure never tried. It’s fatty goodness that taste like BBQ ribs in a taco. Only criticism I have with this is the shredded lettuce that is on top is uninspired and doesn’t work, but the meat itself is too good. Drinks are super unique also. I’ll bet you’ve never had a pistachio horchata before… Well you will if you come here. If mincheladas are your think, you will have 3 styles to choose from. I had original and it was perfect. For dessert the red velvet churros were legit, unlike some others the try to imitate in the area. The ice cream is simple vanilla. I would like to see something more unique and Mexican. The flan is very good. Has a citrus zest to it that really makes it next level. Overall 5 star place. Be sure to try it next time you want great Mexican with great open kitchen atmosphere and service.

The food and service were amazing. What else do you need? Not exaggerating, probably the best guacamole I’ve tasted. Excellent atmosphere and great price. My fiancé and I spent 30 bucks and were super full.

Attended a Unilocal elite event here and came back the next day to discover they offer a healthy«protein style» option on their tacos! Sold. Recommended: Guacamole, Fish Taco, Rib eye taco, carne asada taco, and the desserts are on point too. b

Glad to be writing my 100th review!!! WOOHOO. Too bad there isn’t a 6 star option for me to give this place. WOW and WOW. Tried them out for the first time last night and had an incredible experience. Let me start off by saying the chips and salsa they bring out in the beginning is delicious! Their chips are seasoned with a delicious red powder and they have 2 different types of salsa they serve it with. The green one was my favorite! Their service is something I’ve never experienced before. Everyone is so helpful and kind. It was such a pleasure to dine here. The corn on the cobb… NOWORDS. I could’ve eaten 10 of those. It was so perfectly creamy and tasty. I tried 3 types of tacos: veggie, BBQ beef, and carne asada. I would say the carne asada is the best one yet. It has the perfect toppings to go with it and the meat is very tender. Just to be fun I tried the pistachio flavored horchata(which I usually don’t like) and I actually really liked it! At the end, we of course got the red velvet churros. Just like everything else, they were super delicious. I really enjoyed coming here and am looking forward to going back. Amazing job done!

My husband and I went here for a Unilocal elite event. It was truly memorable. We started off with chips and salsa, guacamole, and Mexican corn(love, love, and love), next we had the veggie tacos(they were vegan as is, they might want to add some cotija cheese for those who like a little dairy), and finished with the red velvet churros and flan. Seriously, could you ask for anything more… red velvet churros, I don’t think so. So, get you a** to Sonoritas.

It was my first time stopping by this taco place. My sister had found this spot through Unilocal luckily it was 5 min away from my parents house. The tacos are really good here but a bit overpriced that is the downside to it. The reason it’s over priced is because it’s in west la anyway there horchata de pistache was so good I loved it, a little different than a regular horchata. There salads are so good and healthy, I also liked that there tortillas are freshly made at sonoritas. I would definitely go there again with my family.

Went here tonight. After a little issue w the hostess, the manager owner found us a table and again, the service was outstanding. The patio is really nice in any weather. I had a salmon taco which was grilled to perfection and great.

Nice venue Great service Nice food presentation … One negative is the food handlers — they need to wear gloves when handling food and handle food better. We sat by the counter and had a great view of the kitchen. The cooks were handling food with their bare hands and even saw one of them rub his nose. They cook their tortilla on the grill then lay them on the edge of the grill where it’s not the cleanest. The tortilla sat there for several minutes. The tortilla chips(for the soup) sits on an open container on a shelf — way above the prep area — easily collecting dust/germs. They put their cooked meat on the same chopping board where they cut raw meat.

Let me start by saying that I absolutely love tacos: I could basically eat tacos for every meal ever and I think I would be perfectly content. Scratch that, I would be ecstatic. Like I’m ready for that to be my life right now. But that’s beside the point; Sonoritas Prime Tacos is next level. Expensive tacos seem to really be a thing on the Westside and I wasn’t on board until I came to Sonoritas(for reference, most tacos are $ 3 – 5). When you sit down, the wait staff brings out fresh, seasoned tortilla chips with their three handmade salsas. My personal favorite is the salsa verde but they’re all pretty delicious. I love their guacamole too so I always get that to start. It is perfectly creamy and tasty, with sunflower seeds to top it off. When it comes to tacos, I love them all. Seriously though. Any of the steak tacos, like the Filet Mignon, Ribeye, and Carne Asada, all have tender and flavorful meat, with grill marks that will make your mouth water and guacamole on top. The BBQ Rib and BBQ Pork Rib are both amazing too – the sauce on them definitely has a kick, but it’s a little sweet, giving it a great balance of flavors. I also love the Al Pastor tacos, which are filled with seasoned pork from a spit and pineapple serrano salsa. YUM! And in case that wasn’t enough, Red Velvet Churros are a thing here. Need I say more?

I’ve ate tacos across the world and this is my top three ever. Their guacamole is fresh and made to perfection. Unfortunately they ran out of red velvet churros and the lady who made it had already left but I take that as a good thing since they don’t recreate it unless it’s perfect by her. Great great service and friendly!

Fact is: we just had a huge meal and stopped by this place because we saw the velvet churro on the menu for $ 7, and then thought, velvet what? Who says no to churros, let alone a velvet flavored one? Our waiter was so extremely friendly and nice, that before you know it, he sold us with a glass of wine and two rib-eye and pork tacos. They start you off with chips and salsas. Super fresh, hot and crunchy chips, covered with mild red powder for seasoning. Three different kinds of red, green and regular salsas. Tacos were good but not distinct compared to other places, though the meat were tender and the ingredients did not disappoint. $ 4.95 for ribeye and $ 3.95 for pork. The velvet churro dish came in three pieces, with a side of vanilla ice cream covered with fudge. Really, really enjoyed this dish because the melted fudge on the ice cream offset the warmth and sweetness of the churro. $ 7. Great décor. Reasonable prices. $ 2.50 with validation at their back parking lot.

Chips and Salsa — 3 choices, all were tasty and had variations on heat. Grilled Romaine Salad was excellent, would definitely get again. We had the filet mignon, chicken, fish and all were good. Wish the grilled chicken was not in little pieces and more strips. Churros were good, Ice cream complimented really well Churros Calientes is right up the street though. Very hard to beat theirs.

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this place. It is the most refreshing, delicious, and memorable places I have been to in Culver City. Upon entering, they are super friendly and personable. Place is beautiful and clean, and the décor is super cute. I love how woodsy it is – even though it is not so Mexicanish. I personally like the rustic feel upon entering. I have came here twice, and I got the same waiter twice– don’t remember his name — to be honest. I think it’s Christian lol but he has long hair, and he usually works in the mornings. He is so nice, sweet, and amiable — and super hilarious. I wish I had his energy at my old job to be honest. He made me feel super comfortable asking for my needs. Upon seating, we were seated instantly. To drink, I ordered the most delicious cucumber drink — I swear to you — even my mouth is watering even thinking about it. I also wanted to try the quality of their meats so i tried 3 tacos — carne asade, rib eye steak(which is a thicker cut), and the Fillet Minion. Food came fast, and fresh. The tortillas were so fresh and delicious — meat was cooked to perfection. Just my entire experience was a treat. I definitely recommend coming here. It is a true gem.

LOVE Sonoritas! This is probably my favorite place to get tacos on the Westside. I recommend getting their taco sampler platter so you can try most of what they make. They also serve sangria and Jamaica juices :) The service was phenomenal! Our server was very friendly and our food came pretty quickly. Sonoritas is in the Sawtelle area so parking can be tricky. I’d recommend parking in the residential area then walking over if you can’t find nearby street parking.

Buttery, fresh made tortillas. Tender, grilled meats. Affordable and ample salads that are full of flavor. Seasoned tortilla chips. Salsa Samplers. Consistent, friendly service every time I’m here. A TV with the football games on it. A small patio. Close to my home. I’ve tried every taco, every salad. The filet and Carne Asada are the stars in my opinion. The chicken is still delicious, so try it and compare to others. I love the grilled Romaine salad although the ends of the stalks were a bit too salty. The earthy crunch and chargrilled taste combined with the punch from the cheese is a great combo. The kale salad is very yummy too. I normally get a salad and one taco for some protein and after too many chips find its enough for around twelve dollars. They do the tacos protein style but I prefer the small tortilla since it adds to the flavor. The salsa sampler is a great way to consume the wonderful tortilla chips, while watching a game. Keep in mind the tacos here are gourmet, not super Street style but a culinary sophisticated version. I like this place much more than I thought I would after walking by and reading the menu. Gimme another taco!

Two tacos were just enough for me! Ordered the homemade guacamole, because it is a just whenever it’s a taco day! The chips were unique too because they put a special spice on it that really compliments everything. They also give sides of dipping sauce, they say that one is quite spicy. But it’s really not. I got the filet mignon and organic chicken taco, I love filet mignon. Food didn’t take long to arrive. And oh my goodness, get the filet mignon. You will not regret it. It is like eating gold… Okay exaggerating. But it’s amazing. The chicken was good too, but I would stick to the beef. For someone like me, I was full off two tacos. One might’ve even got me full since there were chips and dips. But, overall I would definitely come back. The presentation was gorgeous, atmosphere was clean and put together, staff was nice too!
