The best Mexican bakery I’ve ever been to. Huge selection of pan dulce/​sweet bread fresh from the oven, gorgeous cakes, cookies, pumpkin, pineapple, apple, ground beef, chicken, spinach, chorizo empanadas, bolillo and telera rolls, Jalapeño cream cheese stuffed bolillo rolls, everything you could want.
Very reasonable prices.
You could cater a party, or other event just with off the shelf items from Sonora Bakery.
Worth the drive if you’re coming a distance.
Don’t let the run down area deter you.

I had to order pan dulce for 300 people at a post-​show performance and Sonora was clutch to make that happen. I ordered several dozen pan dulces a few days before and picked it up a few hours before the show. They did a great job of packing all the items in advance but still have the pan dulce be frrrresh. For example, the conchas were super fresh and soft. I also appreciate that the price was right — only paid $ 100 to feed 300 people.
Once at the post-​show reception, folks asked where the pan dulce came from and got many thumbs ups from guests — Latino and non-​Latino alike. Legit.

Welcome to ELA and one of the best bakery’s around.
Ordered a sandwich for a party… always the best fresh soft bread. If you order a birthday cake They do a great job I personally only like who cream frosting — it melts in your tonguego early on a weekday or weekend get hot fresh bread out of the oven —

The bread (Bolillo) just melted in our mouth. Oh so fresh! The Conchas had the perfect amount of sweetness! They nailed it.

Love their bread, the empanadas rellenas omg sooo good. I bough pan dulce very soft and warm from the oven. The lady’s where nice and help me to choose what I want it. Close to the fyw exit is very convenient.

Stopped by on way to work because of Unilocal reviews & glad I did. Prices seem reasonable with everything. I was more interested in the Empanadas and got what I expected. Good snack size and full of flavor.

This is probably the best bakery in east l.a. If you’re looking for a wide selection in cakes, desserts and of course, sweet bread, look no further. I had a chocolate birthday cake here once and it was incredible. They have a pastry and coffee special for $ 1.49 right now!

They have the best pan dulce ever! Never dry or hard. Always soft and moist !! Looooove Their fresh juices!!! I can never get tired of the food here! Just wish there was one in OC I just had the Jamon torta, was super delish!

I’ve been coming here for years. I buy their fruit tart for special dinner parties. It’s huge and so much cheaper than other places.
We sometimes get their sub sandwiches which are good cuz it’s their bread.
They have stuffed bolillos with jalapeños and cheese. Yum!
They have smaller size conchas. That’s a plus.

Sonora Bakery made my engagement party cake & wedding cake. Guests raged about what a delicious cake I had! I choose Sonora Bakery for my wedding cake because they’re customer service is superb! I visited many bakery’s, sonora listened and did not complain about the 6 tiers I wanted. I highly recommend this bakery.

So I grew up all around California and happened to live in East Los for a while and this is one of the best bakeries out there! The food is great, price is amazing. I ordered a cake for my friends party and it came out to 59 with a picture and a reggae themed cake. I had emailed the bakery for all the information on the cake and never went in person to actually give in detail what I wanted so I was a bit skeptical on how the cake would come out but it actually came out really amazing!

There’s days you want pan dulce (sweet bread), here i found.
Then other day i wanted a enpanada (bread with surprise inside), found it.
Today hot weather got a 4 foot submarine torta for my daughter’s last day of class party. Wuu!
But to return there tabla (wood) back,.
