The Western is literally a burger created by Zeus himself and sent down from the heavens. Such a deliciously well crafted burger and the fries are just as good too. Their meat is juicy and so well cooked and their bun is the right amount of greasy — I can’t say enough good things about Son of a Bun. The staff is super friendly and makes you feel like a regular — that’s what’s dope. Top 5 best burger in LA.

Holy hamburger! This food truck knocked my socks off. I got the Avo Burger and it was incredible. Soft, fresh bread, gooey egg, melted cheese, creamy avocado, savory bacon, tender, peppery meat. An LA must-have. Catch them at Progress Brewing in El Monte and wash it down with a great craft beer. Yes!

I had the opportunity to try food from this truck at the Ballona festival in Culver City. They serve different types of hamburgers. The hamburger we ordered had so much flavor, thick patty, and just the right amount of spicyness! The fries were thin, not too salty, lots of garlic, just right. The burger was great. Although the pricing is a little high, it is to be expected from a food truck nowadays. Also, I love their image, it is a play on Sons of Anarchy. Will mos def keep an eye out for them to try them again.

i love thick patties. son of a bun has that. avoegg burger: thick patty cooked medium, soft toasted brioche bun, avocado, melted cheese, sauteed onions, pesto aioli, and over easy fried egg. the burger literally melted in my mouth with each bite. it was very juicy so be careful of drippings. lovely burger truck that satisfies the burger crave!

Son of a bun is delicious. My dad only eats cuban food and is very picky, but he fell in love with the Son of a Bun burger and fries. Highly recommend. Owner Ale Tua and his staff are a pleasure to meet.

Western Cheese Burger and a soda $ 11. Looks like a clone of Carl’s Jr. sandwich. Maybe better ingredients? However, there was no seasoning on the burger itself. Nada. Cooked a hair too long. Bun was burnt on the edges and I mean black. So, for my money, it’s Mr. Karcher. Sorry.

I forgot to check-in here, but I have photos to prove I was there! The wait time to order took a while, but the food was really fresh, super filling, and worth the wait! I got the avoegg burger combo and my friend ordered the Western burger. She rated her burger a 9⁄10 because the bacon added a crispy and juicy flavor. I’d rate my avoegg burger a 8⁄10. The avocado was super smooth and the egg was just perfectly runny. Maybe it was just mine, but I didn’t really taste the pesto sauce. The meat patty was super juicy and it had hints of saltiness in it. The bun was super soft and slightly sweet!

This food truck rocks! Found them at the Renegade Craft Fair and they looked delicious. Waited in line for about 15 minutes before the lovely lady at the window took our order and another 10 minute wait for the burger, but it was totally worth it. The Avoegg burger was AMAZING. Fresh avocado, perfectly cooked egg, nice medium patty, and a delicious brioche bun. This burger was perfect top to bottom and my only regret is that I shared it when I know I could have devoured this thing solo. Son of a Bun knows what they’re doing. Totally worth whatever line they have.

Owner and operator Ale Tua is the best cook ever and no matter how hot the kitchen gets, the man keeps a smile on his face. His love of food truly is a gift that translates into a gift to every patron.

This place was definitely fresh, but a little bland for me. The bread here for the bun is a little sweet like the King’s Hawaiian bread, which I love, just not on a burger. I like Smashburger much better and In N Out too. I got the house burger and fries and the boyfriend got the BBQ burger. He said it was good too, but Smashburger was better. Still, am glad we tried it. It seems like a family business and the staff were very nice and friendly. If I see this truck again, I may opt to try the avo burger. So pretty good, but only 4 stars for me. You might love it! Go try it. Good prices!

Food truck Thursday’s by my house. I don’t even look at the other fm trucks when I see son of a bun moderate prices, great burgers. I’ve had them all now. My favorite is the western. The chicken patty is always a good substitute too. 10!!! I give it a 10!(Name that movie)

Food was good and reasonably priced. I discovered them at the Paris Photo L.A. festival amid the strong competition of some other good food trucks. I decided to try them because the burgers looked really good, and because they were offering a selection of combos. They also offer coleslaw as an alternative to fries. Food was very good and good quality. I would definitely enjoy them again.

My burger from Son of a Bun was pretty good. The ½ order of fries was ridiculously huge. I’d eat at this truck again.

I waited an hour for my burger, but to their credit, it was at a big event. I loved the sound of the burgers they had… all looked fantastic(especially the Western). But since I’m on a diet, I only ordered one burger with a super combo(with fries, cole slaw, lemonade). I got the Avoegg burger, which is exactly as it sounds… Avocado and egg with beef patty and cheese on a delicious bun. I don’t know why every burger doesn’t have an avocado and egg. It makes it so much better. I was impressed with the quality and taste of the burger, even with that many people in line. Fries were also seasoned and delicious. Not a huge fan of the cole slaw.
