Snapper Voice Studios – LA

I have only taken two lessons so far but I am LOVING it. I literally just came home from my second lesson and am writing this review.
Juliana is super sweet and very patient with all my questions. She has already shown me a ton of techniques to help strengthen my voice and she allows you to record the lesson so you can use it to practice during the week.
In addition, she is very affordable!

Juliana Snapper has a many special gifts that she lovingly shares with all who enter through the doors of her studio. Her technique is indeed quit unique. She can conjure beautiful multi faceted colorful sounds out of many different resonating chambers like a master magician pulling a elephant out of a hat. How many times do you see that? My point exactly!
I will share a few among many valuable techniques that I have learned from working with her.
Her techniques help me to connect with my low breath and lower back expansion with the slow management of the outflow of the small air stream through the larynx.
I have found a balance of registration through specific vowel exercises.
She has a deep an understanding of the entire primary resonator and how to open it.
I have learned a healthy tongue position which has also translated into my speech patterns helping me to become more articulate in general.
She offers the concept of the gentle chewing of the jaw to keep freedom in pronunciation.
We work on exercises that encourage healthy nasal resonance with the use of a hung or the ‘ng’.

It took a lot of courage for me to begin this process as I have always been terribly shy as well. Not only has she the technical knowledge of a master she also possesses the communication skills and genuine warmth of someone who truly cares about their work and the students development and well being. Which in turn creates a healthy environment of freedom for growth as the student «grasshopper» learns to jump high and come into their own.
I feel absolutely excited about my progress.
It is of night and day, and it is continually morphing and growing into a vine with many new colorful leaves blooming brightly as I learn to «open» and become «borne on the air». I always thought singing for an audience would be one of the scariest things I could do. Then I was in a situation where I had to sing in public. After decades of wondering if this was something I would be able to do, Juliana made it happen for me. And it wasn’t scary at all! She really pushed me in our sessions together so that when I performed, I had the confidence to stop worrying/​thinking/​agonizing and just sing.
The other great thing about Juliana is that from the beginning, her natural warmth and humor made our sessions together very comfortable and unintimidating. I felt she really cared about my progress and I truly looked forward to every lesson. I highly recommend Juliana Snapper if you want to discover the singer within yourself.

Juliana is that for me, for vocal lessons.
Juliana is so so amazing. I had always thought I had a singing voice hidden away somewhere within me, and when I found Juliana, I knew instantly that she was the one that could help me cultivate it. I had talked with other voice teachers in the area, but none of them seemed to really care as much about my unique voice as Juliana does.
She really listens, corrects, and explains things in a way that make so much sense to each person.
Juliana is so motivating, encouraging, and an amazing vocalist as well. She has toured the world in such impressive and artistic productions, it’s almost mind boggling that this woman is actually my teacher.
I feel really blessed and grateful that I found Juliana and with her teaching, my voice has grown by leaps and bounds, not to mention my courage to sing in front of people. Not only did I find out that I do in fact have a pretty decent singing voice, but that I can cultivate and shape it in a healthy way, finding the artistry in my own unique voice.
There are no cookie cutter lessons happening here.

The Rolls Royce of singing teachers as far as I’m concerned. I stopped taking voice lessons about 8 years ago after moving and had mostly sung in bands, and I was starting to feel extremely limited despite continuing to perform. Juliana has helped me get back into shape and gently but consistently challenged me to advance beyond my plateau and grow as a singer. She isn’t afraid to do some pushing.
Most importantly: she cares! Part of the reason it took me so long to get back into singing lessons was I couldn’t connect with any of the teachers I found — they’d have the impressive education and a laundry list of credits, but when I came for lessons they weren’t really in the room with me. Juliana pays attention: beyond her background and supernaturally intimate understanding of the voice, she’s a rare, enormously respectful hybrid of patience and insight. You can’t fake that. Being a gifted, working music professional doesn’t automatically make you a gifted music teacher; Juliana’s both.

Juliana gets results. I was really nervous going into this and not sure if I could even do it. I’m not a «real singer» but I love music and I’ve always wanted to be able to sing. Juliana made it easy for me to understand how to do things, and challenged me in a respectful way. I feel so much more comfortable now, as though music is finally mine. I wish I had done this sooner!

Julianna is the miracle worker of voice /​vocal teachers. I’ve played piano since I was 10, and always just kind of sung along. Now, a bunch of lessons later, I am belting out the hits! Plus she has great recitals in groovy places. If you are singing now, or always wanted to sing, or use yoiur voice in any way for work, then get with the program. Highly recommended.
