These dudes know what they’re doing. The kamut wheat they use makes a delightfully tender crust that’s super thin and foldable. I like floppy pizza slices, and Slicetruck gives me just that. The guys in the kitchen accommodated my request not to add extra oil to the crust during an oil-free challenge I was doing with my sister. So far I’ve had Daiya on my pizza, as well as a cheeseless pizza to make it vegan, and I think I prefer it cheeseless! The crust is so good it doesn’t need any cheese, to be honest. I do wish it didn’t cost extra to add veggies when I get it without cheese, but it is what it is. I’ve had Slicetruck three times now and do indeed plan on returning to try a veganized grandma.

I went to Slicetruck today for the first time and was immediately blown away by how helpful and nice the dude behind the register was. The interior is very simple, but clean and pleasant. The pizza was incredible; super thin crust with just the right amount of crunch. The super thick sliced pepperoni was so flavorful. They will add fresh basil and Parmesan on the slice for no extra charge. I just got a slice today, but I will definitely come back for a full pie in the future. They’ve got a tiny cluster f*** of a parking lot, but it’s better to have some parking than none! Mad props to the cashier, he was great.

Delicious, high quality pizza. Have only had the Grandmas and will never be able to eat any other pizza. It’s a thicker crust/more Chicago style. The crust is buttery with a perfect chewy texture. Tons of garlic and the freshest toppings I’ve ever had on a pizza. You pay more but it is very much worth it.

Pricy pie but worth the cost. They knock their vegetarian options out of the park, especially with the house specials Grandma and White. I recommend calling your pie ahead because these pizzas take a bit, particularly during peak hours on the weekends. The main setback here to note is the fact that they moved storefronts. Parking at this current location is a PAIN. It shares a really tiny lot, so you may be best off coming in off hours or parking on the street and walking it in.

I enjoyed the pizza from Slicetruck a lot. We tried the BBQ chicken pizza(14″ was perfect for 2 people) and a small salad and of course — two chocolate chip cookies. The bbq sauce was the perfect amount of spicy. The crust(NY style) was crispy(not soggy and limp). The salad was fresh and was an actual salad — not just lettuce mix and shaved carrots. The dressing was tasty too. The cookies were really good as well — thin, crispy and not overly sweet. I would definitely try Slicetruck again. I hear the Grandma Pizza is really tasty.

My friend and I came here a few weeks ago while waiting for an appointment we had at the nearby shopping center. The initial impression I had was a very clean and simple store, with extremely friendly and helpful staff. I ordered the grandma slice with pepperoni and added fresh basil and cheese on top. Let me tell you. This pizza is DEFINITELY worth the price because of the fresh ingredients, specialty pan pizza(done so right), and awesome staff. One thing I really appreciated was the simple ingredients that had over whelming flavors. Even the pepperoni was thick– not paper thin, and they gave me a lot compared to other pizza shops I’ve been to. Supporting a local, small, business doesn’t hurt either!

Got two pieces to go. Went to pick it up and biked. they gave me a big box and no bag. They had NO bags. I said«how am i supposed to carry that?» the guy said, «sorry. can’t help you with that.» Are you KIDDING me? You are a takeout place. The pizza was just okay. Tasted old.

Slice truck makes you think you can get pizza in slices but you only have one option– cheese pizza and you can add toppings(no pork). I got one slice with a mexican coke to go and the bill came up to $ 6.50 and I tipped the guy $ 1. Asked for a cup and ice, he said no ice. When the pizza was done, he gave me the pizza on a paper plate so I asked for a box(he knew it was for to-go) and he wanted to charge me 50 cents for a big pizza box since they didn’t have any small ones for to-go… I was already sorry I tipped the guy. Why bother to ask me if it was for to go if you don’t even have any to go boxes for me?

Let me start off by saying that as far as pizzas go, having a slice here can be a truly sublime experience. However it takes the right set of circumstances that’s unfortunate unachievable by the way most people will order from them(delivery). Quality ingredients such as San marzano tomatoes and khoroasan wheat lead to an amazing product, that is thin and crispy with soiled crust that is not too greasy. If you walk into the store, and have a fresh slice of the hot garlic, you’d be hard pressed to find a better experience anywhere else, let alone in LA. However, I feel that the guys running this place are pretty in flexible. I remember at their old Sawtelle location(which frankly was a much better place for foot traffic), the menu was much more limited, probably a result of their more simple original operation out of a truck. However now you can add individual ingredients to the pizza’s with a larger variety of sizes, lending to a custom experience that flies in the face of the ‘authentic’ and simple=better mantra they had before. I get it, they want to focus on their quality and adding the custom element dilutes this a bit. However, I was disappointed when I ordered at hot garlic recently with just two additional toppings(garlic and chicken). I was disappointed to find that there was no discernable amounts of additional garlic(they do say that on the default hot garlic there is an «obscene» amount so maybe us asking for more is a slap to their face? And I get that even the chicken is fancy(Mary’s free range) and probably expensive but it was a sad sad amount of lulled chicken(actually it was like a few muscle fibers scattered about). So for $ 3.50 I was expecting more meat(we asked for it only on one side, so would assume that the side with chicken would be extra concentrated). Anyways def give this place a try, but do it fresh! At the end of the day even the best ingredients and strictest technique are diminished by steaming itself in a cardboard box. Also try the grandma without any toppings, it’s like a foccacia bread with those amazing tomatoes, whole.

Reopened at its new location on the 7 – 11 plaza across from a Starbucks, Slicetruck Pizza is a tiny place with big ambitions. What you get, are indoor, bar-style seats around the perimeter of the establishments and a couple of chairs right outside facing the parking lot. When I visited, there were no tables next to those chairs, but I’m guessing they’re coming. Right? Right? For my lunch I went for a slice of Pepperoni as well as Spinach and Mushroom. The friendly cashier offered some grated parmesan and fresh basil on top, I didn’t argue. I got the slices very quickly, hot and ready to be enjoyed. The Pepperoni was quite greasy and had somewhat odd, pungent aftertaste similar to aged bleu cheese. Not necessarily bad, just very rich. At first I thought it was the cheese on the pizza, but upon trying the Spinach and Mushroom which did not have the same flavor, it was clear that it must have been something else. My inquiry to the staff did not yield and clear answers. Anyway, the crust was thin, crisp, and had a slight chew to it, but not enough flavor or texture. There simply wasn’t enough gluten worked out of that dough to give it that perfectly chewy bite after a burst of char. Could have used a little bit of salt in the dough as well to make it pop slightly more. The thick cut pepperoni was bagging to be cooked well done — next time. In respect to the other slice, the mushrooms were beautifully sliced super thin for maximum surface area and worked harmoniously alongside the spinach. I’m sorry to sounds like a broken record, but a little bit of salt would go a long way. As for the sauce, there really wasn’t any. Instead of cooked gravy they used crushed tomatoes, which if you haven’t haven’t had this style of pizza before, just go with it, it wonderful. On my next visit, I’m going for the Grandma Pie.

I’ve never been here in person but use grubhub to get my delivery from them directly. It’s very clear that they use top notch ingredients here and I would die happy for the recipe for their regular pizza dough; it’s so light and airy and crisp, truly the best I’ve ever had. The Hot Garlic Pizza is amazing with spicy sauce and parmigiano reggiano. Tried the large G-ma’s pan pizza with my husband and we both thought that it was just okay. It was very heavy, not saucy at all, diced up tomatoes and a lot of cheese and butter. That being said, it was cooked incredibly well and the dough was light and airy as a pan pizza ought to be. The last time I ordered the Hot Garlic my crust was burnt a bit and it’s kind of like, if I am agreeing to pay this much for pizza you have to agree to make it amazing every time and feed the burnt stuff to your staff for free. Still way worth the high price tag for quality ingredients and a truly fantastic chef behind this gem.

Wow how bad can pizza get. Try their pepperoni. I don’t mind spending money on good food. But this is horrible. They charge nearly $ 30 for a pizza. Milo and olive doesn’t even charge that and that pizza is delicious. The pizza was dry and no flavor. We had to add stuff to it and that still didn’t help it. I won’t be coming back here.

Tried two pizzas, the Hot Garlic, and the Grandma. Hot Garlic: not as spicy as I might have imagined, little bit on the cheesy side for me, but pretty good. Very thin crust — we got the personal size, which meant the crust was quite crisp, but I imagine it would be a bit floppier if you got a larger size. Grandma: Super super delicious. Significantly thicker crust than the hot garlic, crispy on the bottom(I think they fry it first.?), but pillowy and soft. No sauce on this one, but there were crushed tomatoes for flavor. The crust on this one was incredibly good, had to fight with the boy over the last few pieces. Extras: they give you fresh basil, along with the usual crushed red peppers and parmesan — we were pretty excited about the basil. Wait is a little bit long(20 – 25 minutes), which is not actually long, but is longer than some of the other pizza places we frequent. The storefront is tiny, with counters and stools you can eat at, but no tables. Lot of chairs for people waiting for their orders.

I’ve had slice truck since my days at USC when they had just a truck. Then I followed them into enemy territory by UCLA because their pizza is that good. I ended up dating a Bruin for a couple years just so I would have even more of an excuse to go(half truth). Slice truck’s ingredients are second to none. I don’t know if it’s specifically their fresh produce, the evoo they use, the tomato sauce or the incredibly crispy, light and delicious dough they use but it’s done right here. They have a great selection of toppings you can add as well to truly customize your experience. I would highly recommend slicetruck for any pizza aficionado.

Slicetruck is turning out some delicious New York style pizza. I’ve quickly become addicted to their Grandma pie. It’s not a style of pizza you can find often in LA, which is surprising. If you’ve never had a Grandma’s I would highly recommend it. Their regular pies are also really great. The shop is small so it can be challenging to consume a pie with friends. I am hoping they expand. And if they do, think about opening a shop in the valley. :-)

Was looking forward to a new slice shop in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, smart ass, and deliberately rude counter service is not a good sauce for decent pizza. Once was enough. Good luck with that.

Grabbed two pizzas from here the other night — ordered online, walked over to pick them up. Friendly staff, clean space(but very small, don’t plan to sit and eat there), reasonable prices. Being from the East Coast, I’ve been struggling to find decent pizza here; I hate the big chains and flat out never go to any. Overall: yummy pizza(thin-ish, cooked perfectly, and they even offered basil, fresh park, and crushed red pepper on the side at no charge!), great for an easy weeknight meal.

I placed an order on eat24, waited until the app estimated time it should be ready, showed up and was told they will get started on it. Basically I ordered ahead of time for no reason to sit next to the bum outside. Also, you aren’t in Beverly Hills charging $ 23 for a pizza. You are located next to a 7 – 11 that has plenty of homeless people around

Slicetruck(the Bundy location) is A-OK. It’s a tiny place, so I’d recommend takeout. My friend and I got the grandma and a BBQ chicken, and they were both pretty good(considering CA is not the pizza capital of the world, aka NYC). I’ve definitely had better in LA, and it was a little overpriced considering how little pizza you get for what you pay. But, there aren’t a ton of decent pizza places in West LA, so it’s definitely a solid presence in this location.

I lived in New York so my pizza standards are high. But this was pretty good! Pan fried so has that very specific crust. We got the grandma which is no sauce but cheese and tomato. Place is super small. They took a little long. It’s nice they give you a baggie of fresh basil to top your pizza with! The thing is it’s overpriced. $ 31 for a pizza that serves two? Guy was nice. Would order delivery if we are in the mood.

As a transplant from a pizza-centric part of the country, I knew this place was legit from the moment I stepped in and was greeted with that familiar smell. They use all the real stuff, and accept no substitutes — fresh dough, high-quality cheese and toppings, a classic pizza oven. You get you pay for at Slicetruck — if you’re not willing to pay for the best all of the usual delivery suspects are within a stone’s throw away. I ordered the hot garlic last time and won’t look back.

Bland flavor. Expensive. Got the personal size Grandma pizza for $ 12. It was the size of my hand. And I have small hands. They need to bring down the price for sure or amp up the quality.

*Note, I haven’t been to the newer location on Bundy so I can’t comment on the physical space. I’m going to assume the product is the same. I’ll start with the pizza – HOTGARLICALLDAY! YUM. I love the hot garlic pizza, in case that wasn’t clear. It’s pretty self-explanatory. Super garlicky, super spicy sauce that I prefer to get with just cheese and basil on top. I’ve only tried the hot garlic and the BBQ chicken pizzas. The BBQ chicken is one of the best I’ve had. Very simple, just chicken, red onion, cilantro, mozzerella, and BBQ sauce. Everything tastes very fresh and isn’t greasy like other pizza places. The crust is thin and crispy and just so good. We’ve ordered a few times when we had friends over too, never anything bad to say. I know some reviewers are bothered by the burnt parts in the crust that sometimes happen, but this is just a casualty of the cooking method and I don’t understand the complaints! Same thing happens at other popular places like 800 degrees. I’d rather see that and at least know my pizza was prepared fresh in an oven than run through some heat lamp kind of thing. Also, I’m not a huge doughy-pizza fan so I haven’t tried the grandmother pizza that everyone raves about. My only issue is the cost. I understand that you pay for freshness and high quality but I still think – at the very least – it’s fair to say it’s a bit overpriced. I mean, you could spend about $ 45 to have one large pizza delivered after the delivery fees/postmate fees, and taxes have been added, depending on number of toppings. On that note, I find the toppings to be expensive too, ranging from $ 2 – 5 depending on topping choice. I mean, $ 2 for extra sauce? I don’t know about that. While I love the pizza itself, it’s certainly more than my quick meal, weeknight, budget desires which hinders me from ordering as often as I’d like.

I usually suggest Slicetruck Pizza to those who are willing to pay a little extra. My fiancé and I can’t vouch for walk-/dine-in because we always order via online for pick-up for one thing — full-size Grandma with fresh basil. With that being said, service is efficient and quality is above pizza standards.

Place Is a joke. Pizza is too expensive for Neighborhood. Try $ 10 a pie bro. On Sawtelle you could charge $ 30 a pie– but as everyone else says you can’t charge that in the ghetto where you are currently located.

The prices are insanely high for the quality of product. The crust is too thin, the toppings aren’t very generous and the selection of pizzas is lacking. Did I mention the prices are too high? $ 3 a slice I can look past that. But not discounting a full pie is an insult. 16″, 8 slice pie is $ 24 with NO toppings. $ 24? Were am I, Rodeo Drive? Newsflash, this is Santa Monica & Bundy. You are next door to 7 – 11 and Taco Plus(which has way better food btw!) Took a pizza home(3 blocks away) and within 10 minutes the crust was cold, and I actually thought I was eating cardboard by the time I got to the 3rd slice. My partner felt exactly the same. I am only giving it a 2nd star because the pizza smelled absolutely amazing! We got the spicy garlic one. But when a pizza smells better than it tastes, you don’t go back again.

The pizza is above average, although the people who are raving about it have apparently not been to Abbot Pizza Company, or to Osteria Mozza or to the dozen other places in Los Angeles that are definitely superior. The problem is that above average is not good enough to justify the $ 4/slice prices, nor the AWFUL service. It has been at least a decade since I was so tempted to forgo adding a tip.

1: Look, your pizza may be decent or even good, but it’s pretty bold to keep your old Sawtelle pricing when you’ve switched neighborhoods to a place where rent was halved. Since we’re not paying for the neighborhood nor ambiance anymore and you’re now next to a 7 – 11 and Smart & Final, let’s remember that, yeah? It looks like I’m not the only one feeling that way either. 2: VERY annoying — please stop using the alleyway behind the shop as a parking spot for your delivery boys. Residents use it to get in and out, and tonight you had two cars parked side by side completely blocking the road, both driver in their cars chilling while watching videos on their iPads. Thanks.

What a waste of $ 21. I bought their signature dish, the Grandma pizza with Italian sausage for $ 21.50 and found it to be a greasy little doughnut with tomato and gnarly sausage bits I had to spit out. I chose not to examine what exactly this hard bit was, but it seemed to be cartilage or something worse. The pizza dough was underdone, way too sweet, doughy, and the bottom portion where the crust begins had soaked up all the grease from the pizza and tasted like greasy sink water. Seriously, $ 21 bucks for a tiny little pizza with bits I have to spit-out and has grease puddles? F-that! Their prices are 50% higher than neighboring mom & pop pizza restaurants and 200% higher than the pizza chains. For that price I expect much higher quality control. I really wanted to like this joint, but Meh.

Slicetruck is 100% the best pizza I’ve ever had. We loved them on Sawtelle and were so impatient while they were moving to their new Bundy location! Fresh ingredients and always amazing. Hubs and I battle over which pizza we’re getting each time — I always want the regular pizza, he always wants the Grandma’s. All I can say is, no matter who wins the battle, we’re both always happy with what we get. A little on the pricey side, but that’s what it takes to get the best ingredients!

Best. Pizza. That’s really all you need to know. It’s the best pizza. The original and grandma pizzas are both amazing in their own ways. You can taste how high quality the ingredients are, and I don’t ever feel gross after like at the«other» pizza places. Bummer that they moved off Sawtelle– I miss walking there and the outdoor seating. However, the pizza hasn’t changed one bit. I’ll gladly drive the mile to get some pizza to go. In fact, I think I need some right now…

this place used to be on sawtelle, with the i’m sure crazy expensive rent. they have moved to this random bundy location, which is fine, except it’s one of the worst intersections in america. but so what. there’s a parking lot anyway, i want to review the grandma pizza specifically. we got a full square large grandma style pizza with sausage and olives. it’s a thick crust pizza with no sauce and only canned tomatoes. i’m not that crazy about thick crust pizzas usually… new york thin style for me all the way(if i must choose), but damn this grandma pizza is some good stuff. the minimalist tomato sauce is casually genius. and slicetruck’s sausage is truly great. side note: their more«regular» new york style pizzas are also great, but i wanted to specifically take the time to give credit to the grandma second side note: the place ain’t cheap, but it’s not papa johns so don’t compare. you wouldn’t compare apple pan hamburger to mcdonald’s, right?

Slicetruck recently moved from Sawtelle to Bundy in West L.A. As per one of the owners their rent is half of what is used to be… problem is who’s gonna spend $ 31 for a large pepperoni on a regular basis. 8 thin slices isn’t gonna do it for a family or even two big guys. The pizza is good, and probably better than most in this weak pizza area of L.A. but $ 10 too much in my opinion.

How did I get so lucky that Slicetruck opened up just a few blocks away? Just had a 14 inch BBQ chicken pizza and I can say it is the best slice I’ve ever enjoyed, and I’ve had pizza in over 25 countries, at hundreds of pizzerias. I’m a pizzaholic telling you this is the best pizza I’ve ever had. What do you have to lose? Nothing!!! Just go try it and enjoy the flavorgasm. Additional, added June 16: Been coming here weekly since December… and it’s a problem. I love everything here. I’m sticking with the BBQ Chicken Pizza(with extra chicken) which although quite expensive is worth it for the quality of ingredients. I’m willing to pay more to not eat 100% preservatives and chemicals at Dominos… and to get something that is less traditional than the options at Milo Olive. I’m blown away to see that many of the more recent reviews have framed the staff as unkind or gouging. They’re the greatest. Always extremely friendly and wanting to get everything right, some people only see the negatives they want in people… Kevin is legitimately the greatest FOH guy at any restaurant I’ve been to. My advice is to go here. The ferocity of these negative reviews makes me feel they are fake, and I can assure you 100% that I’m real(just look at my other reviews, or my instagram, etc)…you will regret not trying BBQ Chicken or a Grandma Pie(load it up with basil) at Slicetruck.
