My friends and I found this little Mexican place in Alhambra and I have to say chilaquiles are really good, the beans have a really good flavor(home style), coffee is really good. In sure the rest of the food is great as well. Wish I can tell you more about this place, all I can say as a Mexican being picky for food this place is hands down one of the best.

Pass it all the time. Not too far from where I live. I checked out the reviews on Unilocal and decided to try out today. I had the chili verde chillequillas and the wife had the carne asada burrito. Definitely coming back is all good.

I was born in Culiacan, Sinaloa and had never found a place that makes food just like my mom cooks until now. Sinaloa Express is a very small restaurant and I drove by it many times but never went in because it said«Express» and I always thought, if it’s real Sinaloa food, it can’t be express. Anyway I decided to try it one day and look, if I was going to judge a place by their food being authentic to Sinaloa, I had to get an Asado and Frijoles Puercos. If they passed that test, they passed all of the tests. Simply said, it was perfect. Exactly how it is supposed to be with no American twist to it. The Frijoles Puercos were the biggest and most important factor to my judgement as that food is something that not many can do correctly and they fulfilled my taste buds 100%. They took about 15 minutes to get my food out, so it doesn’t make them«Express» like a burger joint, but it doesn’t take as long as your regular dine-in either. I actually took it to go because I was on a rush and they put everything I needed inside the bag(some places forget tortillas and whatnot). Oh and the tortillas are handmade and taste great! The prices I saw are all between $ 11-$ 13 per entrée. The price is not high when compared to other restaurants with great food like Cheesecake Factory or Olive Garden. Granted, at Sinaloa Express you won’t get the customer service like those fancy restaurants, but you will definitely enjoy your food and get your money’s worth. The ONLY issue I saw was that they dont really have parking, so I parked next door on a liquor store parking. This isn’t something that should ever deter you from going to this place though because it’s really great!

After grocery shopping at Food-4-Less my wife and I were very hungry, I decided to go to Sinaloa Express with my wife. Couple of my friends recommend the restaurant the style of cuisine is from Sinaloa, Mexico. Each state in Mexico they make different version of cuisine like tacos, taquitos, etc. This is our first time trying Sinaloa something new and different we were surprise how good the food was delicious. I order the chicken sopes and my wife order the chorizo with egg. The food is made from scratch that’s why took a while but it was worth it. The waitress brought our meal it look so good including my sopes. Wow the sopes were so good it have so many flavors I add lemon plus green salas and Mexican sour cream that’s add it so much flavors in the sopes I want it more. My wife enjoy her chorizo with egg even I tasted the chorizo amazing flavor but it was greasy that’s good. Overall we enjoyed the food at Sinaloa Express we will go back again.

The only thing missing for a 5-star is banda. Sinaloa cannot be sinaloa sin la banda. Yes, seating is not the best, but the restaurant is doing the best with what they have. It was a great entrepreneur move to open in this location because of the industrial setting and adjacent coffee shop. If you want authentic Mexican food, this is the place. The sopes and tortillas are handmade; unlike other restaurants that use store bought. It’s an art to make handmade sopes cause once you prepare the masa, you need to heat it up and with your hand press the heated masa into a sope to fry. They came up with a great way of selling extras separately. For example, if you want chilis, avocado, and queso, you need to pay for them. That’s the downside, because I enjoy eating my food with a chili to bit into. Maybe they can give one free and then charge for the rest? Just an idea to Sinaloa Express. All in all, the price was reasonable. I paid 13 bucks for 4 sopes, an avocado side, aqua cebada and a coke. I am making Sinaloa Express my go-to Mexican restaurant!

I was looking for a quick place to eat close to school and came across Sinaloa Express. I ordered the chicken enchiladas and the machaca burrito. Omg! Amazing choices. The food has a homemade taste to it. The enchiladas are made with queso fresco, my fave! And if you’ve ever tried real Sinaloa machaca, this is the real deal. The food is fresh and very very delicious. It’s my new go to restaurant for authentic Mexican food.

Enchiladas de pollo are pretty good, homemade style, not over heated which is rare to find these days. Sinaloense plate is also good. Great place if you’re in the mood for a quick hole in the wall authentic dish. Recommend you drop by if in the area.

Sopes are one of my favorite dishes! So here’s what I had to say about my recent dine-in experience: PROS: — Great service — Good variety and portions — Decent prices. — Loved the fresh slices of radish and cucumber garnish. — Beef broth was tasty. — Seating is cozy, limited, and clean. CONS: — Sauces are too watered down in the squeeze bottles.(Would have tasted good, but I had to drown my food for some flavor!) — There was a thin layer of shredded beef which was a bit salty and flavorless. — Cash only!(Come prepared!)

This place has become one of my top favorite Mexican food joints. My mom and i were seeking for some good tostadas when this place popper up on Unilocal.OMG… why didn’t we find this place before. First of all the owners are Sinaloence(duh, the name says it) so we had an idea of what to expect. We have gone to a few Mexican joints looking for great tasting tostadas but most places serve only store bought tortillas, which is truly disappointing. The tortillas are made every morning with nixtamal, none of that maseca crap that people call masa, and fried as you order. The tostada itself has a bit of beans, your choice of either beef or chicken, shreaded lettuce, queso cotija, red onion, pepino and radishes, they do have salsa and crema that you may add as much as you please. The order consist of 3 tostadas and the consome that is very common in most sinaloence dishes. Now the tostadas were good but what really convinced me and made this my favorite place were the sopes. The sopes consist of the same ingredients as the tostadas but the sope itself was great. It was nice and crispy on the outside but soft on the inside but the sope never become soggy or hard and it wasn’t very greasy. all in all i loved the food, from the fresh ingredients to the great tasting consome. This place defenitely will be our go to spot.

Don’t bring a big crowd. It’s okay, cause you should be more focused on the food than the people. If you have a larger group with you, stage a decoy, sneak away and come here for the food by yourself. ***** Mom and Pop shop. Traditional foods. Tasty sopas. Pork tamales. My friend got the Asada burrito. Rice and beans included. He loved it, said the meat portion was generous. 4⁄5 Sopas(4 per order) — Had the choice of Chicken or beef. They let me get 2 of each. First time trying Sopas. I’d get it again. Yum. 5⁄5 Pork tamale — flavorful. Nice texture. I could have eaten a second one. 4⁄5 Service — They were nice. Had to re-order the 2 extra tamales we ordered, but no big deal. Came out quick. They were quick to bus empty plates for us. Wasn’t quite sure where exactly to park. Next door was a liquor store. Ended up parking in the residential streets around the corner. No problem, lots of space.

(((((Review 1,000))))) Sinaloa Express has been around for a bit over a year now until then this place was a revolving door for failed Mexican food restaurants like McTorta everything Yellow & Red with the Golden arch«m» and all… that didn’t last long! Hmmm wonder why? I saw this place about eight months ago and immediately had to check them out, it turns out they are a nice family run business from my hometown of Culiacan Sinaloa Mexico, I loved the food and friendly service and I’ve been back several times since. The food here is NOT like your typical LA Whexican food spots around town, it’s Puro Sinaloense like someones Abuelita is in the kitchen cooking you a little something. If you’re looking for a great meal, not a couple tacos but a platillo estilo Sinaloa, these guys are hands down Best in the Heights! Quesadilla de Carne Asada — You have the option of Maiz/Corn o Harina/Flour Tortillas by the photo you can see this is flour, filled with plenty of melted jack cheese and beautifully grilled carne asada lean, tender and flavorful, just add some of their house made salsa nothing hot but good flavors! Tacos — They only have a couple of meat options for the Tacos as Sinaloa Express is more about the meal or plates of food. Carne Asada — Nicely grilled, very little fat and lots of flavor. Pollo — I don’t usually order chicken tacos but decided to give it a go, if your thing is chicken I’m sure you’ll love this. Torta de Pierna — Pierna is leg/thigh and this is pierna de puerco, thigh meat from a piggy which has been nicely marinated, topped with lettuce, tomato, avocado, mayo. beans? I can’t remember… all on a nice telera roll. Torta Mixta — Same ingredients as above Torta but ADD Jamon/Ham and Queso Blanco/white Cheese NOW if that doesn’t scream Party in your Mouth, what does? Barbacoa — This is Res/Beef that has been marinated and slow roasted until it’s very tender and full of spicy flavor expect little bit of fat on the meat, served with refritos con chorizo, refried beans with pork chorizo mixed in, makes for some nice…((P2)) CHILORIO con Huevo — Chilorio what say you? Chilorio is a dish from Sinaloa so many of you might not be familiar with it, so you still don’t know what it is… it’s generally made from Pork as this one is, it’s then generally roasted for hours, shredded in small pieces and fried in lard, then coked in a varitey of chili’s and other spices, similar flavor profile as a pork chorizo but tastes much better! You can order it Chilorio Natural which is just the meat mixture, or con/with Verduras/Vegetables, or con Huevo/Egg and a side of refritos as I did With Hand made Tortillas and Authentic Mexican Recipes come check out Sinaloa Express! Viva Los Tomateros! Cons: 1) For all the Non-Ballers it’s CASHONLY 2) It’s a small place so seating is limited

Came here for the first time today and was very impressed. The food is authentic, service is good and price is right. The tostadas and gorditas are so delicious. I hope they can expand their restaurant soon because it is very small and there are hardly any tables and no AC. I will most likely get the food to go next time, but I can’t wait to try other items on their menu!

Tortas de pierna are their specialty, and it was really delicious. The next time I will request hotter chili because it was too mild for my taste.
