This is the most reminiscent Belgian waffle I have had in the U.S. I recommend crumbled bacon with gouda and poached egg! Also try the Elvis.

Cute little place. I really craved Belgian waffles and was recommended this place. I had the sausage gouda, but asked the server to separate the items(not all stacked on the waffle). It didn’t blow my mind but it was pretty good. Came on a Saturday morning and it wasn’t too busy. It’s in a cute neighborhood close to The Grove, if you want to go shopping after(which I did). Street parking was relatively easy to find.

Their cappuccino is hands down my favorite of the many coffee places I’ve been, better than balconi in west LA, which is my favorite so far. Although balconi is more consistent in the quality of all their drinks and every cup. At shaky alibi i like most of their baristas except for a couple that consistently don’t make as good cappuccinos. They add a BIG scoop of ice cream to their waffles, very sweet and glorious if you got a real sweet tooth. I don’t though so it’s not my thing. I also love their hot chocolate and mocha.

The staff is charming, the little waffles are clever and delicious… and it is a good place. I have been there several times now, and it is always good and nice.

Awesome spot! The savory waffles are great! The mix of savory and sweet was perfect. The cold brew coffee was solid. A great combination of flavors. It’s a nice little corner location with a small seating option, but the outdoor seating is nice for two :). Overall a great experience. The servers where great as well.

I love everything about this place! So we shared a savory waffles sandwich with turkey and gruyiere cheese which was amazing. The sweet and savory flavor combination was perfect as one did not over power the other. We each got a traditional liege waffle which was crisp and crunchy like we like it. We got chocolate and strawberries as a topping and it was also great. For my drink I had the ever so refreshing violet lemonade. I loved it as it wasn’t too sweet ans had great flavor. The service is awesome, everyone is very nice and tentative which is so crucial. I’m glad we stopped in here, next time we’re know town we will definitely come back!

My friend and I opted to have brunch here since the wait at BLD(a block away) was long and we were hungry. Good thing we did because everything we had was good and the service was great. The owner was there and he took his time explaining all the coffees and food items in the menu. He made sure our first time here would be good. I got an iced latte — pretty good and the owner blends and roasts his own beans. We both ordered savory waffles and were pleasantly surprised that they were good. The sweet-savory combination with the addition of the hot sauce worked well. The serving size is perfect — I felt full afterwards. I would definitely comeback here to try the sweet waffles.

The shaky alibi provided me with one of the better cold brew coffees I’ve had in the WeHo area. And they have almond milk! The coffee paired with a delicious Sausage and Gouda waffle was the perfect way to fuel my body after a grueling soulcycle class.

First time visitor. Got a regular iced coffee($ 3) instead of the cold brew($ 4.50) and I was happy. The alternative milks they used are special barista quality, so you won’t run into the iced coffee-almond milk separation issues. Will definitely be back when I’m in the area.

Items Selected: Liege Waffle with Salted Caramel and Pecans Chocolate Dipped Waffle Shot Affogato with Caramel Chip Ice Cream and Bacon Crumble In the midst of planning a trip to Belgium, fine dining the impetus but undoubtedly planning to sample through several waffles and confections along the way, it seemed all-too-fortuitous that an early start to the day saw me discard much of «first breakfast» as I headed towards Fairfax for brunch, a quick stop into Shaky Alibi finding a few patrons sipping coffee while browsing the internet as a friendly staff of three stood by. More or less a «do one thing and do it well» sort of spot, though a few egg dishes do join the Liege Waffles on the menu, it was after a brief perusal of the various toppings that an order was placed and deemed a «great choice» by my waitress as expectedly«hip» coffee house favorites chimed overhead. Long and narrow in size, local artists invited to display and sell pieces hung along the walls, it was the work of a hirsuit young man to individually craft each Waffle and sampling a piece of the original with powdered sugar while I waited the exterior crunch and sugar pearls were immediate reasons for optimism, though it was somewhat disappointing to learn the baked goods at the register are not made in-house. «Pricy» to an extent, though quality butter, sugar and spreads show Shaky Alibi’s commitment to doing things right, it was as the Waffle was being prepared that I decided to indulge in one of the restaurant’s more recent creations and although generally a coffee«purist» aside from a bit of sweetener I have to admit the chocolate coated waffle shot glass is a clever little invention, the double shot of espresso poured over ice cream from McConnell’s even more outlandish when sprinkled with crispy bacon. Watching the cook carefully knife my waffle from the press, a golden hue dominating the crisp exterior as pockets of butter and punctuation marks of sugar compete for top billing in the fluffy core beneath, it was only after toasted pecans and a layer of imported Belgian Caramel were added from a small jar that the $ 7.75 treat arrived at the table, each bite every bit on par with Liege waffles experienced to date Stateside and filling me with hopes that those overseas may indeed be as memorable at «half the price,» as trusted sources say.

Have missed coming here, but was glad to see Shaky Alibi doing as well as ever. The savory and the sweet waffles both great. Don’t know why it took me so long to try the speculoos(a type of spiced shortcrust biscuit — sort of like peanut-butter). It’s a worthy addition with protein especially suited to the waffles of the sweet variety. The attention to detail here found them in good form, too. The coffee was hot, strong and pretty to look at. The room is still very nice; artsy, social and workmanlike all at once. Music has a pulse and a personality, but isn’t too loud for conversation. I kinda missed seeing the prim, white button-down shirts that the guys working here used to wear. The staff was fine the other day — if looking a little less polished in their dark t-shirts. I was happy to see Shaky Alibi looking healthy and tasting delicious, as I remember. Can’t believe it’s about four years since my last update here!

We ordered a soy latte, hot chocolate with whip, and a traditional waffle with hazelnut swirl blueberries and banana. It was so delicious. Servers were always busy but always positive attitude. Great location!

3.5. Decent enough food, interesting combinations, but terrible service. I’ve been a couple times and they just aren’t on top of their game. I waited literally my entire meal to get my coffee this morning, and the food arrived cold…“sorry there was a mixup back in the kitchen. Sorry about the wait.”(Also before my coffee was delivered after asking for it uhm…) It’s pretty much a hole in the wall compared to the other restaurants just down the road a bit. Parking is a little tricky with meters in the area but still pretty easy if you get there early.

This place is a hit or miss. Today’s experience was alright, the server was extremely friendly and helpful. He made sure we were taken care of and charged correctly. The reason I say charged correctly, is because sometimes it’s like pulling teeth here asking for a Belgian waffle, with cheese, and an egg(which would cost somewhere around $ 8.50). Sometimes when we order this they charge us for a savory waffle which is 8.25 because it has MEAT and cheese, then they charge us for a poached egg which is $ 2.00 more. We don’t eat meat and we don’t understand why they couldn’t just charge us for the three items on a consistent basis. BUT today they were totally cool about it. The food is always delicious, and never disspoints. Don’t forget the hot sauce!

If you want some good waffles, this is the place to go. I came here on a Sunday for brunch and had no wait. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Parking is residential or metered. I ordered a savory waffle and a sweet waffle to share my boyfriend. As others have mentioned, the size of the waffle is more like snack size so it didn’t completely fill me after the meal. A complaint I have is that the price is ridiculously expensive for a snack sized waffle(even if the waffles are really good)! +Savory waffle: We added the pork sausage patties with Swiss cheese topped with a poached egg. This was unique since it was my first time having a savory waffle. It had a nice touch of sweetness to the savory components to it. +Sweet waffle: We had the crunchy speculoos spread with bananas on top which was super yummy! I think if I had the whole waffle to myself, it would’ve been way too sweet though. Overall, I would come back if I was really really really craving waffles for breakfast again.

Got 2 waffles. 1. Waffle with crunchy speculoos, bananas, & pecans. The waffles start at $ 5.50 with Belgium pearl sugar & dished with powdered sugar, then $ 0.99 per additional topping. 2. Savory waffles that start at $ 8.95 with your choice of meat and cheese. Got the honey smoked turkey and medium cheddar… the topped it off with a poached egg for an additional $ 2. Bill totaled to $ 21 after tax, before tip Perfect portions and absolutely delicious! Bound to be a neighborhood gem. Cute little quaint place on the corner of beverly & martel, street parking may be hard to find so try residential streets

I came to LA ill-prepared. I had no idea where to find a waffle!(I mean, who does that?!) Fortunately, Shaky Alibi has a waffle baked right into their street sign, so it was easy for me to find one of my favorite treats! It was almost noon, and all I’d had for the day was coffee. I needed something legendary. I needed something big and stuffed with bacon. I needed… Elvis. The guy and gal who were working the bar were super nice and fast! They brought me a freshly-squeezed orange juice almost as soon as I’d ordered. Elvis took a little more time.(Didn’t he always?) The Elvis was a waffle topped with peanut butter, maple syrup, bananas and bacon. (Mine also came with a healthy helping of shame after I’d finished.) It was incredible. It’s definitely worth lacing-up your blue suede shoes for! Shaky Alibi is… the King.

Everyone here talks about their waffles… damn I should’ve gotten them. Too bad I was just done eating half a pig at Stir Market. I got the Pistachio Latte and my GF got the Salted Caramel Latte. First off, the latte art was just disappointing. I didn’t even know what they tried to make or if they tried at all. The Pistachio Latte had no pistachio flavor and the Salted Caramel Latte had way too many rock salt on top. Definitely won’t be coming back for lattes but maybe for them waffles.

Sugar. Overload. My boyfriend and I were craving waffles so we came here for brunch a couple weeks ago. My boyfriend ordered both a sweet and a savory plate, and I ordered a savory plate with a poached egg. I truly enjoyed the egg, but to be honest, I wasn’t a huge fan of the fact that all the waffles contain clusters of sugar. The egg, meat, and cheese all went well together, but to top that off with a waffled packed with sugar instantly turned me off. I’ll be back to try their lemonades though… looks enticing!

This is a good place for a snack but not a big meal. It’s kind of pricey. The price should be 1⁄3 cheaper since it’s basically street food waffle and they provide table service where you have to tip. Portions are very small. Service was great. I would come back for a snack or dessert. Coffee was pretty good.
