Ok, I just had to give this place 5 stars. OH My! Their shrimp cocktail just gets better, and their sopes de asada are the best, they serve the best asada, not like other spots that serve the cheap fat trims. Ahhh love you señor fish!

My first time. Omg! It’s so bomb!!! I got a salmon burger and homemade fries for $ 9. That’s a deal! It wasn’t quite a burger, more like a torta, even better! The fries were perfectly cut, perfectly cooked. The fish tacos are the real deal. The pastor was savory! It was so much for two people, we had a meal left over. Their Micheladas come with snacks. Lol! Their chipotle salsa was drinkable! If you see my other reviews, I’m pretty picky about my food. This place wins the best tacos in Echo Park in my eyes!

The Al Pastor Torta was VERY good! I like how they add cucumber in with the lettuce. Good flavor on the al pastor, too! Great bun/roll and slightly panini pressed. Love the fruit/citrus flavored ice water they have as well.

This is a good deal for classic Mexican and fish. I ordered the two fish taco combo, one grilled and one battered(half a buck more for that grilled one). Grilled cod was tender and peppered. Battered cod just crisp enough. Cabbage, sour cream and salsa verde over it.(Better idea than a dollop of tartar sauce imo, but you can get that at the salsa bar if you so desire.) The lunch special comes with a drink. Classic diner-style service. Love the old piano converted into the salsa bar. If I was a devout Mexican Catholic, I’d be here every Friday during Lent.(:))

Tacos are incredible and combo plate is such a great deal. Salsa bar is also amazing. Staff was so friendly and helpful in helping us choose what to get for our first time here. Not sure why it only has 3 stars. I’ll definitely be back here.

The current 3 star review is does not accurately portray the meal I just had. The Salsa bar festers 6 different salsas… All amazing. Every fish taco I had was fantastic, chips were the . And finally the service, everyone in this joint was extremely cheerful and helpful. Overall a truly enjoyable experience.

I used to go to the Little Tokyo location after work but once it moved, I began coming to this one. I actually haven’t had the other meats as I usually stick to the seafood. I frequent this spot mostly during Lent. The fish tacos are amazing. To be exact, the Ensenada fish tacos are simply scrumptious. It includes guacamole, salsa, and cabbage on top. The fish is also fried. I also recommend the shrimp and scallop tacos, both which are also fried. However these two do not include guacamole. I’m sure you can add them for an extra charge. The location itself is small but it’s not packed every time I come in(usually past 7pm). You order at the front and look for your table on either side, and the waiter brings your food to your table. On the right side there is a bar area but I’m not sure what type of alcoholic beverages they have. Definitely recommend this place for the seafood tacos!

I came to Señor Fish for my first time after a recommendation from my roommate who dines here frequently. My girlfriend and I came on a Wednesday night after I had been feeling under the weather the last few days. I ordered 1 fish taco and a bowl of chicken tortilla soup. Upon ordering at the register I asked the employee ‘how the soup was’ to which she hollowly stated ‘very very good.’ I questioned her response but decided to order it anyway since I was really craving chicken tortilla soup to make me feel better. The fish taco came out first and was decent. When the soup arrived it was blanketed with tortilla strips and filled with a ton of additional veggies like celery carrots, and some sort of cucumber or zucchini. Clearly just the chef’s extra ingredients covered in a broth. There was NO chicken and very little broth which hardly even qualified it as a soup. I felt I had to say something because I was not going to pay for a wet vegetable stew when I asked for a simple soup. The waitress at the counter told me I had the right order and when I pointed out the shortcomings of the meal she kindly took it back to the kitchen and refunded me for the soup. I believe I just ordered the wrong thing at this place and would love to try it again, my girlfriends burrito actually looked pretty great. Just wanted to put a clear message to stay clear to the chicken tortilla soup!

Meh. Just needed a burrito. It was decent. If you’re stuck in this part of the woods, the steak burrito will satisfy.

About every 6 months or so I go to Señor Fish because the memory of how disappointing my meal was starts to fade. Today I made the same mistake again and decided to memorialize it in a Unilocal review to hopefully prevent myself from making the same mistake again. You’ll have better luck at the taco truck across the street.

First off, this is a super no frills type of place. Your menus are essentially paper printouts inserted into wrinkly plastic sheet protectors. That being said, I’ve never really had a bad meal here. Simple ordering concept– you pay at the registers and they’ll run your food over to your table. Their salsa bar is housed off to the side, in an old emptied out piano no less(kind of cool!). Our usual is a grilled fish taco sampler plate($ 11 for three tacos [your choice of fish], rice & beans, and a small side salad) or the ceviche($ 13). They have a couple beers on draft, a fridge with cold Jarritos, or their big canteens of horchata and different flavored aqua frescas. Parking can be a little difficult. Thankfully they’re right on the corner, so you either have Sunset Blvd. or the small side street to find(metered) parking. The place is lacking a bit of warmth and coziness, but overall the food and service are fine, if not completely, super yummyyyy.

Well I Love Señor Fish! Went for lunch today from work and got parking on Sunset Blvd. right in front. I had The 2-Fried Fish Taco Combo for $ 8.50 and it was Awesome. Big place with lots of tables. And a massive openness with the high ceiling beams and décor:) My friends had Bacon wrap shrimp, Salmon Burgers and we all Love It. A Ice cold Ice filled Bucket of your choice of 6-Bottled Beer’s for $ 20.00 awesome We all will be coming back for more I leave 4-Stars but if they turned on the Air-Conditioning I would give 5 It was hot in there:(

I Went to señor fish the first time with someone who walked inside and said …“oh hell no”… So it was a no go, lol… Then I found a another guest to take… I had a $ 40 groupon and I knew it would be too much for me to eat alone … The food was pretty darn good… Fresh and flavorful … I would go again and I would recommend señor fish … So why 4 stars … For this type of restaurant … Sort of in between a sports bar and a taco stand … They get 4 stars … It’s not a 4 star restaurant … But the service was good and the food is good, so 4 stars it is !!!

This is a great pre-Dodgers game stop! Their grilled sea bass tacos and the seafood enchiladas are delicious. The portions are on the larger side, so you can share or go when you are super hungry. They also have a large selection of beer, on tap and bottled. I will definitely be back! FYI– I am pretty sure this is a cash only location.

We had the Groupon for $ 40 for 2… It is a LOT to spend $ 40 for two people here unless you plan on drinking… so either plan on drinking(easy, right?) or come super hungry. It’s street parking only here and that requires a bit of driving around, but it’s very possible. I had the cheese quesadilla, which is an easy thing to do, but was still good. She had the veggie enchilada, also good. Because we had to keep ordering MORE food to get close to the $ 40 mark, we also ordered burritos to go for lunch the next day. My bean and cheese burrito was pretty good. She really liked her veggie burrito. Also because we had to keep ordering, we started with a side of guacamole and chips. It’s not the best guac on the planet, but it isn’t bad. There is a condiment bar with lots of different salsas, sauces and veggies you can use to jazz up your food. Unfortunately, on the evening we were there it was in need of some replenishment. Still, a condiment bar is always a good thing. We wanted to end our meal with some Mexican hot chocolate, but they were out(sadness). We got a Café con Leche instead, which was pretty good — served super hot. This place was a pleasant surprise. If we lived in the neighborhood, I could see making this a regular stop. Food is better than it needs to be — fresh and tasty. Service is quick. Prices are more than fair. And it’s actually cute inside — elevating this beyond a standard take out joint… although it seems to do a pretty brisk takeout business. If you see a deal for this place, grab it. And make sure you’re hungry!

Not sure what all the drama is about but if you like fish tacos and quality beer at lunch then this place is doing it right. I tried the fish taco sampler and it was perfect. Staff was cool. Beer was cold. Prompt everything. Tasty food. The only thing negative was the pricey pitcher of beer.

I miss the location on 1st street, too bad it shut down. This location needs something and I don’t quite grab what it is. Shrimp taco — fresh made tortilla, overcooked shrimp, salsa added without asking and meh! in flavor. They have shrimp pozole… never heard of that… sounds interesting — not!!! Thy need to add AC to their location, it gets pretty congested, I can only imagine how it will get when summer comes along.
