My go-to spot for lunch when I’m at work. The poke is excellent and fresh, and I’ve yet to be disappointed from all of their other offerings. By far, my favorite is the shrimp burrito.

Their poke is reasonable but no better than any other poke establishment’s in LA, think Mainland or Wiki Poke. But, unlike those locations, you do not have the opportunity to customize orders here. They have standard items, often consisting of poke and two other add-ons, and that is it. This would all be passable – it is downtown. The real issue is portions, especially at the end of the day. I just bought a poke bowl that was less than a third full. We’re talking four pieces of poke, a quarter cup of rice, and loads of cucumbers to cover the otherwise obvious deficiencies. Over ten bucks for that?! Jeepers, I’m not that drunk.

First time with a friend, great atmosphere, great aroma, close to subway station … Great food all wins

The staff here is just immature. They hang around with their friends at the dining tables so you’d never know they work here until they decide it’s time to earn a living, and bring you your burrito 20 mins later, served cold. I handed them their food back letting them know they must make a new one, fresh. For kicks, I stuck a tiny piece of french fry into my burrito beforehand to test against microwaving. Lo and behold, my food comes back 1 minute later, rewrapped. Can you guess what’s inside the«new» burrito? My piece of french fry. I must really thank Seasalt for its attention to detail. Also, with a 50⁄50 chance, my co-workers have contracted illnesses from the food here. Those are better odds than the Powerball, so take what life gives you.

Great customer service from the employees here. This is a nice lunch option. Seating can be in demand but be sure to check out the back. I ordered the po’ boy to split with my husband and upgraded to fries. Don’t forget to checkin to earn a free waffle churro! The sauce on the po boy could have been better but this place still earns 5 stars because my last visit I really enjoyed the fish tacos. The serving sizes are a great value for the $ if that is a priority. My one suggestion is they should really do a better job of keeping the ketchup bottles filled. They were all pretty empty.

Heaven is a place on earth here. Let me start off by helping you understand my fiendish obsession with seafood. Good, fresh, varieties of seafood. I could easily, happily eat here everyday for all three meals if I didn’t have to rent to pay. Every option on their menu is fresh, flavorful and deliciously paired. I typically order a poke dish of some sort bc again, obsessed. However, I recently opted for the battered catfish and was not at all disappointed. Amazing. During one particularly busy lunch rush, my order was a bit delayed. The manager was sweet enough to bring me a free batch of salmon poke to add to my California Tuna poke bowl to make up for the lost time. I wanted to kiss him and assure him they could delay my order more often. jk i need that ish! The prices are pretty average; you’ll spend less than $ 15 to get full and satisfied and the staff is always friendly and helpful.

Came here during lunch hour — my sister had come before and said the Poke was pretty good. There wasn’t anyone in line so I had seconds to look at the menu. She ordered a poke bowl and I just asked for the same. She also ordered a side of seawood that we were going to share. After we sat down, I asked the kitchen if they could substitute my rice for salad and he said sure, but when we got our food they gave us a poke salad which was $ 3 more and a poke bowl with salad. Apparently the girl at the register put in my order wrong and on top of that, gave us 2 seawood salads when we only asked for one. Overall the salad was okay, didn’t think it was the great plus they screwed up our order and overcharged us. Eh I might give this another try but I wasn’t that impressed. You do get a churro like waffle when you check in which was cool.

It was ok? I really wanted to like this place but it wasn’t amazing. Be aware though that I tried the fish plates and not the poke. Maybe they’re better known for the poke bowls. I just got scarred from having poke that one time I went to Hawaii. The fish plates. It comes with your choice of fish, vegetables, and rice. The vegetables were… Ehhhh whatever’s… And I love vegetables in general. I wished that the food came out hotter temperature wise. The fish was ok too. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t amazing. I would much prefer California fish grill or Malibu fish grill.

Ordered delivery a couple of times from Seasalt. Delivery takes sooooooo long so I’m not a fan of that, but it’s an OK option if you want seafood delivered. I’ve tried their Cajun Grilled Shrimp Burrito, Ahi Poke, Tilapia Plate. Everything has just been OK– nothing special. I feel like their flavors are too mild or just not fully on point. The poke wasn’t bad– pretty fresh and they have BOMBASS tortilla chips. They are the legit homemade kind, not like the type you find at markets. Overall just a whatever place that has amazing tortilla chips, lol. Prepare to drench your food in hot sauce to bring some flavor to the table.

This is the 3rd time I buy Poke at this place(two salmon and one spicy tuna) and I get BAD fish. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt going back three times figuring it was a blip. Not so. My guess is these guys aren’t moving their fish like they should and continue serving it when it is «going bad.» Tastes awful and smells extremely fishy. Good sushi grade fish should not. What a shame considering this is supposed to be their signature item. Have tried other things and«cooked» stuff is typically decent(e.g., fish tacos). However, given this bad experience and the fact that I’ve tossed full plates of Poke in the trash THREE times(yes, it was that bad), not coming here again. Oh well, a bag of Doritos for lunch it is… how frustrating and what a waste of my money. Additional point of sadness… they’re a block away from work and two blocks from my house. :(

Seafood meets fast food concept with healthy twist. Food without pretentiousness, this eatery offers a solid selection of seafood without breaking your budget. Lunch time can be crazy on weekdays, but pretty quiet rest of the time. Although I haven’t had a bad bite here, none have been outrageously spectacular either. Seasalt Fish Grill was literally across the street from the office so I decided to check it out. The lunch time rush here is out the door! But the line moves pretty quickly and once 1pm hits, it’s much quieter. This is a self-serve place. Order at the counter and take a number back to your table and they will bring the food to you. I went with the spicy Ahi poke bowl, a Mexican coke, and a churro waffle(free with check-in!). The tuna was delicious! There were plenty of crisp pickles in the bowl and it came with seasalt rice. The texture of the rice tasted like brown rice but I wasn’t entirely sure. The tuna was well seasoned and I was quite satisfied with the meal. Next time I’ll try a few more items on the menu as the food is very promising. I just didn’t have time to sample everything the first time around.

So the free check-in offer of a churro waffle… 5 stars straight up. This thing is amaaaazzzzing! better than churro caliente by far, did i mention it was free too? Now this place gets crowded at lunch, the workers are working at 100mph which is pretty amazing to see, they seem to be very well known for their poki bowls which are pretty good. I ordered the Ahi tuna plate which was unfortunately not very good, the tuna was not of a good cut/quality. I also got the fried clams which were fairly good, you get ~100 fried clams(definitely shareable) If it’s your first time here, I recommend a poke bowl + churro. So let’s talk more about this churro waffle again, it seriously does the trick for me, I think this place can go into business just selling churros. Make sure you get it hot! I might be bias cause I love churros but if you have any inkling towards a churro, this place is a must! Summary: Overall Food: 3.5 stars Atmosphere: 3 stars Churro Waffle: 5 stars(it’s that good!)

First time here: On the seafood tip: Shrimp tacos(served luke warm) Chicken tortilla soup(deelish) Grilled salmon(amaziing) Churro waffle(served cold) Nice place but shrimp tacos served luke warm along with cold beans n rice. Salmon was served hot n deelish. Checked in n got Churro waffle free but served cold. Seemed like it was just sitting around to be served to an unknowing patron. Too bad. Decent but not if food is served cold. Teetering on coming back.

.:Customer Service:. Great customer service. Although this place has no formal table service, employees came around and made sure everything was ok and removed our trash from the table for us. Also, very good at explaining the different food selections offered. .:Ambiance & Seating:. Busy DTLA setting. Most people eating are likely on lunch or have wandered in from neighboring skyscrapers. Seating is all inside with wooden seating, so don’t plan on spending too much time there. .:Food Quality:. I can only speak for the poke right now, although their grilled and friend fish and shrimp options look amazing too. Poke was of great quality and very satisfying. I got the salmon and ahi poke, California style. If you like seaweed salad, I’d recommend Hawaiian style. .:Parking:. Anywhere you find DTLA. Lol. There is no designated parking for this location. .:Other Concerns & Final Comments:. They offer brown rice, quinoa, and other perceived-as-healthier alternatives as sides to your meal option.

The people at Seasalt were really helpful. I didn’t really know what to order so I got a Poke Bowl, half traditional/half Salmon(Tuna, Salmon, Rice, Cucumber, Avocado and Spicy Mayo) It was pretty good and filling. I went at around 1pm to place an order to go and within 5 minutes my food was ready! Seasalt is located in the middle of DTLA, perfect for anyone who has a short lunch break. Make sure to check-in on Unilocal and get the Churro Waffle! So good!

I love coming to this spot, I’ve become a regular here at lunch. The service is excellent, courteous, and extremely quick in case you only have a quick minute for food. The restaurant gets very packed during peak meal hours though so finding a seat may be difficult. I’m usually getting the poke bowl or salad(the salad is huge and can be eaten as more than one meal), with half spicy ahi poke and half hawaiian poke. The seasoning is just right, with a great texture and fresh fish. It seems that poke is all the rage currently, and this is my go to spot for it. The churro waffle you get with a Unilocal check in is great too! Definitely a must try spot.

I’ve had this place bookmarked for forever, and was finally downtown during lunch hour. Wowwee, this place is PACKED during lunch! When I stepped inside, I was initially confused as to where the line was; I thought it was around back, so I walked past a row of chatty diners and bustling servers only to realize that the«line» was really people who were waiting for their to-go orders. There was no actual line to order – when you walk in, just go right up to the counter. I felt kinda silly, having done an extraneous lap, but whatever. A lot of the menu is comprised of poke, but I went with the grilled fish tacos instead. The guy who took my order was definitely in a rush, so much so that he didn’t even ask if I wanted something to drink. I debated whether or not to take it to go, since it was so crazy banoonoos in there, but luckily a table opened up right as I was ordering. The tacos came with a side of beans and a side of rice – that was a nice surprise. Everything was very flavorful and perfectly cooked; the fish was especially succulent(maybe some of the best fish tacos I’ve tasted?) and whatever crema they used was delicious. My only complaint about the tacos was that they’re only wrapped in a single corn tortilla, and they were too flimsy to hold all the toppings. A couple of bites in any they’d completely disintegrated. I ended up just eating the filling with a fork, but two tortillas, or stronger tortillas, would help there. Despite how crowded it was, I really enjoyed Seasalt! They were efficient in the extreme, while still being friendly, the noise and crowds gave the place some energy, and the food was very good; I can see why they’re so popular, because it’s a step or two up from something like El Pollo Loco, and like 1.5 million up from Subway.

I’ve been a fan of this place ever since my first visit last week. On my first visit, I got the spicy poke bowl, which was a standard poke bowl. Thought it was good, but I wasn’t feeling the rice that they gave. It just didn’t taste like the rice at other places. The rice wasn’t moist and separated too easily. Something about it didn’t taste right. For my second visit this week, I got the Three-Way Poke(I think that was the name, I can’t find it on the online menu). It was basically chips, salsa, slaw, and a bit of the three different poke that they have. This gave me a chance to try the different poke flavors. After trying all the poke, I can honestly say that I do not have a preference — they all taste great! The reason why I didn’t give this place 5 stars is because I didn’t feel like I got the«bang for my buck» compared to other poke places like Wikipoki and Pokinometry. Although this isn’t my favorite place for poke, I’m still a fan. I’m looking forward to coming back again to try the clam chower, crispy calamari, southwest egg rolls, and the cat fish ‘n chips! :-) TIP: Check in on Unilocal for a churro waffle!

Love the energy and vibe of this place. The food is great and I really enjoyed the fish & chips. I also tried the fish tacos and they were great. If you check in, you get a free order of churros! Get there early enough to get a seat cause it fills up fast for lunch. The line moves fast at the counter so make sure you’re not that person that’s holding up the line by asking a thousand questions. DON’T BETHATGUY! Get online and check out the menu and make your selection so you get in & out in an orderly fashion.
