Schwartz Bakery is a MESS! They have terrible service, very rude employees and do not care at all about their customers. Their receipts are never accurate, listing other products than what you actually order. I tried to be patient with them, and show them their receipts and wait while they correct their mistakes. every time. Me and my fiancé were advised by the owner to email orders(to avoid his bakery department because they are incapable of passing orders along). This also failed. My fiancé was yelled at by their employee Dorris and hung up on. I am disgusted and will never support a business like this one. They never get orders right, they are over priced, but most of all they are so so so rude. One star for their service.

Best buffalo chicken popper sandwich ever. You must enjoy a sandwich from here and if you don’t, you missed out. They also have a good selection of pre made items in the cafeteria at Cedars Sinai. The quality and taste is more than worth the price, which is still relatively moderate.

Schwartz saved the day after Canters sold us jelly donuts with no jelly for $ 2.50 each! Service is great and love the High Kosher standard.

I was recommended by someone to come here if I was hungry… I went today n it was a big place. I sat down n got service right away. The waitress was very friendly n I never tried a jewish deli n I ask what she recommended. so I got the corn beef with onion ring… N I’m not gonna lie, she wasn’t losing about the rings being delish!!! Corn beef was good n I got extra onion rings to go! I would come again soon!

We literally drive from Orange County to end up at Schwartz’s Bakery. Being Jewish or not, from pastry to bagels and cakes to cookies, you truly can find what you want. The products are diverse and the taste outstanding. As one who is lactose intolerant(but also keeps kosher), I love the taste and quality of the pareve items. There are also day after specials where the items still are delicious and the prices have gone down by 50%. You can reside in the bakery also for deli items and drinks that fit your taste buds. When going there on the day before the Sabbath, try their Challah, and to paraphrase the Bee Gees«Ooh, it’s a Challah Day!!!»

Made a wonderful multi course Passover dinner for the family. I usually purchase the Benes bakery passover cake at Gelsons but I noticed that the market has a display of Schwartz Bakery Passover Kosher cakes, I purchased their Passover Chocolate Roll. Once the dinner was over, everyone was looking forward to desert. i sliced the roll and serve. There was not much enthusiasm among the guests so I cut a slice for myself and tasted it. YUCK! Either these were cakes left over and frozen from last year, or the ingredients of the cream were completely stale and tasted awful. Now Schwartz’s is a famous bakery and whenever I am around Fairfax I stop for a few danishes. But this was a complete disaster. I tried to replace it with some fresh fruit,. but the memories of a great dinner were ruined. Doesn’t anyone at the baker taste the product before shipping/(And these are fairly pricey cakes too)

Schwartz is good but I can’t say it’s great. The place is large and welcoming — it looks good for a bakery. I wasn’t too impressed with what I tried. Their challah is pretty average, and same goes for the bagels, in my personal opinion.

Heaven… I am absolutely obsessed with knishes. I am equally obsessed with matzah ball soup. I have had both of these items from many places but ohhh maaahhh gaahhh.. Schwartz bakery took my favorite foods and made them even better! How is this possible? is probably what you are thinking. I KNOW! How could a knish be even better then what it usually is?!? I DON’T KNOW!!! They’ve done something.. Something that is perhaps… magical? Go here. eat a delicious knish. You will be so happy. you are straight up going to cry.

Just received my delivery and it’s super yummy! Matzo Ball soup was great, tender matzo ball, great flavor, New Yorker hit the spot and Michael the delivery guy was very nice. I love supporting local business owners and am SO glad this was good! I’d give 5 stars but I want to taste the baked goods first :-)

Thank you so much for catering our family Bas Mitzvah. The food was beyond expectation and much more food than ordered. Your staff was wonderful to work with. Food was on time and fresh. All the people who came asked where the food came from, most were surprised that you do such wonderful fancy dairy catering. Once again thank you for making our event so special. Yasher Koach, a wonderful and sweet year.

I bought a groupon based on the menu represented in the groupon ad. I got to the restaurant and the menu is NOTHING like the menu represented on Groupon. The guy behind counter said«we have no meat here»…er…you go to a deli and most people want Corned beef or Turkey or pastrami, right? And that was the menu I saw before driving 15 miles. I easily should have gone to Nate N als or Canters or Factors deli. Mainstays and delis who don’t need Groupon to survive. In any event I complained and the guy said at the other location we have meat but not at this one(where Groupon is valid) so I asked that he put the Manager on phone with me so I could use at the other location. Mark was beyond rude. He said to me «this is why we can’t stand groupon Customers» …THENDONTOFFERTHEM. I NEVER would have tried this place without reading about it through Groupon and my experience has been on Restaurants I have discovered through Groupon that I liked I have returned many times since my first introduction. The arrogance insulting nastiness this Manager was was outrageous. NOONE needs to spend money here and make sure you understand if you do go to the PICO location there is NO meat. And I saw the food coming from the kitchen… it LOOKED disgusting. DONOTGO. In fact I asked someone there who was eating a vegetarian salad what she thought and she said lettuce was soggy and veggies«NOTFRESH». Do not think if you are purchasing a groupon that the menu represented on Groupons site is anything like the menu you will see when you go to Pico Restaurant. I don’t understand why it is called a ‘DELI’ with NO meat. WASTE Of MYTIME, RUDEMANAGERANDTHEYHATEGROUPON Or CUSTOMERSTRYINGTHEIRPLACEFORFIRSTTIMEWITHANYSORTOFDEALANDWILLMAKESUREYOUFEELITWHENTHEYSERVEYOU. SOMANYOTHERRESTAURANTSANDGREATDELIS in the area including Factors just West of there on pico, NAte n Als, and Cantors so why waste your time with rudeness and people who do not appreciate your business and DONTHAVEMEAT??? DONTBOTHER

What an unexpected delight. I needed«take-out» lunch for four and I tripped into this bakery whose sign advertised deli as well. I live in New York and have eaten deli for over 60 years and watched its popularity gradually decline over time. Not here. I bought six sandwiches at this«bakery» and got the very best deli I can remember ever eating. I need to say that again: the very best. Two of the sandwiches were chicken cutlets(obviously, not deli) and I ordered them«popper» style. They were great, flavor and all — no over cooked chicken here. Though no surprise because the other«half» of the store is a traditional bakery, the rye bread was just the way rye bread should taste. This place is worth a detour and that’s what I plan to do whenever I return to LA(3 or 4 times a year).

Bogus! Not service with a smile. There were absolutely no customers when I went in. After looking around for a minute, I was directed to the deli counter. It was not obvious being there was not an open meat type counter or hanging salamis. I ordered the«New Yorker», turkey, pastrami, and coleslaw. The dressing was not good and neither was the coleslaw. The pickle that came with the sandwich was not even as good as a Vlassic, I did not take a second bite and I love pickles. One thing they forgot to mention when I ordered was that it’s served on stale bread. But it’s only $ 11.95 and scrawn! There are better Jewish delis in Los Angeles and some near by but not necessarily Kosher. Another thing was it took easily 10 minutes if not more to get me the order and let me remind you that I was the only customer. Needless to say, I feel totally ripped off. Don’t eat here!

Good pareve(non_dairy) kosher bakery(inside there is also a restaurant which serves meat based dishes). I got chocolate babka and a poppy seed danish/pastry. Both were delish, and reasonably priced. Everything in the case looked good, except the rugelach which looked more like a hard and crunchy… I didn’t taste it though, they might be great. The customer service was friendly and helpful. I would definitely return.

Beautiful Jewish bakery! Delicious cakes, breads, madbukhah, etc. Service is very pleasant! Easy parking at meters. They also have a lunch menu which is surprisingly good too! Try the hot wings with the hot sauce on the side! Not bad for a bakery! They have even more selection around the holidays! Try it in Nov-Dec!

I dropped by Supreme next door because I had to buy something there. Afterwards, I stopped by this bakery. It’s a straight up bakery in a busy part of Los Angeles. They had a sandwich side and a pastry side. The only thing about my experience here that stuck out was this really weird dude working there. He seemed like a robot – like one of those unreal people who are programmed. He had really awkward language and possibly has history of autism. Anyway, decent place to stop by to chill if you’re shopping in this area.

Ordered some hot wings, not bad… very sticky hot sauce glaze that stuck to your teeth, all n all not by any means terrible. Also ordered a schnitzel, thin, crispy and tender. Very good schnitzel, but for food, I would just recommend going to Canter’s down the st. The also had some very good baked goods, which is why I would come back here, but not for the food.

I love their deserts! Yes, the guy behind the counter was a bit rude, that’s my only complaint! I don’t keep kosher so the rudeness doesn’t bother me so bad because I can just go elsewhere, and I do! But that being said, I got a seriously yummy coffee cake and will come back again!

Amazing looking cakes and pastries. Cakes are moderately priced at 29 and 19 bucks. The staff is nice and friendly here too, though I prefer to take and go. Tried their Mandel bread and at 8pm it was still soft and delicious. It even kept fresh the next day in the bag. Really good selection and nice variety. Also good Rugelah. Clean and nice presentation of the café — you can sit and relax for a bit and have a sip of coffee if you wanted to. I’m gonna get some heat for saying this, but I gladly prefer Schwartz Bakery to the more famous Canters(next door), which to me never tastes as fresh.
