Stopped by this week to find out that they closed down. Super bummed as this was one of my favorite breakfast taco joints.

Their breakfast tacos and sandwiches are awesome! My fave thing to get here is their turkey, pesto brie sandwich on sourdough. They grill their sandwiches, which give them a special crunch and the cheese is melted. Delish. Cost-wise, it seems kinda high to get a taco for nearly four bucks or a sandwich for nearly ten, but the quality of ingredients and the taste is worth it. There’s some tables here, but it’s an overall small shop, so I usually take my food to go.

After seeing their sign for breakfast tacos for a long time, I finally decided to stop by and try them. I ordered their bacon and egg tacos and they were tasty! The vegan tortillas and red salsa really made this meal rememberable. The only reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars is because with only two tacos served, it left me wanting more but I wasn’t going to buy another plate. And also, it’s a bummer that they stop serving breakfast so early. But maybe that’s why they’re so amazing and sought after.

I recently tried their breakfast tacos too and the only con is they don’t sell them past 12pm! They’re super tasty!

This place was pretty good! Stopped by here today for brunch, after the place we originally were planning to go to was closed. I personally loved the breakfast tacos. I ordered 3 of the bacon and egg ones & they were fabulous! Perfect portion sizes, the flavor was on point. Added some sriracha on top … Delicious! My boyfriend tried the classic breakfast sandwich. He had mixed feelings. He said the first bite was great, but that the flavor was too rich with the avocado an arugula. He felt like ½ of the sandwich would have been a better Servin size. Regardless it is definitely reasonably priced & great if you’re looking for something light, quick or on the go!

Great food, fast, usually not too busy. There’s a few veggie options and the prices are reasonable. Wish they had longer hours. As with a few other businesses in HP– people behind the counter could be a little friendlier. If you’re paying upwards of $ 15 for a meal, it shouldn’t seem like a disservice to the employees doing the work… Maybe they’re not making enough? Who knows? Smile more. Either way, good spot.

Everything I’ve had here has been excellent — the breakfast tacos or sandwich, the tuna melt, the hot pastrami and several other things that’ve slipped from memory. But all are good memories.

Wow is this place terrific! Amazing breakfast tacos and the staff are super cool, kind and gracious. Only complaint, is that they close at 4 :( Hurry up and get there before then!

The vegan breakfast tacos might just be the single tastiest item I’ve ever had, anywhere! The nopales inside of them are so perfect. I especially love the green salsa, too! Staff is friendly and service is quick.

Started working in the area, was starving for something simple and reasonably priced. I ordered the Turkey and Brie sandwich. Normally, I don’t order sandwiches because I’m just that weird type of person that prefers to eat things I can’t make myself(go figure). But I don’t even care when it comes to this place. I loved being able to taste every single ingredient that’s listed, from the black pepper aioli, brie to the fresh sourdough. It came with a side salad and took less than ten minutes to get. I’m looking forward to trying the breakfast tacos and even the tuna melt. I’m going back!

Just ate here. Almost killed myself on the outdoor chairs which are a wobbly lawsuit waiting to happen. Really dangerous. Like fall apart dangerous. Those in my party who had sandwiches were satisfied. I ordered the quinoa kale salad and was terribly bummed out. The proportions were so wrong. It was an incredibly lazy salad for almost $ 9. 99% kale, 1% quinoa with 4 little slices of apples. I actually had to go somewhere else afterwards because I cannot eat 4 cups of only kale. Pretty disappointed. Watch out for those gentrified prices.

Happened to stop by while on my way to the bank not knowing what I just got myself into. This is a very simple yet presentable joint. The staff is extremely welcoming and the food is. I would post pictures but I kinda finished all my food before I even though about pulling out my phone. Maybe next time. 4 out of 5 It’s hard to be perfect in my eye in the food industry.

I went by my boyfriend’s house to pick up a sweater but ended up parking at his place and walked less than 5 minutes to this place for a quick lunch — though it wasn’t really quick since it took a pretty long time for our food to come out. It was a nice sunny day and we wanted to sit outside — they only had two tables out on the narrow sidewalk unfortunately the table was taken before we got to order so we sat inside — which seating was also pretty limited. The menu didn’t really appeal to me much — they have a lot of vegan and gluten-free choices as well as many healthy options — I don’t mind that — it’s just I’m not a super big fan of vinaigrette dressing for the salads… though the sandwich choices were better. They also serve breakfast till 12. I ordered a Portabello and Goat Cheese sandwich on Multi-grain bread and my boyfriend ordered a Turkey and Brie on Ciabatta. I liked the first half of my sandwich but got tired of the taste so I switched my other half with my boyfriend’s. The turkey and brie cheese was good… I liked it — though it was a pretty thick stack of turkey and it was overwhelming. I wanted more greens — they had a few arugula but more greens would have been good. The service was okay. Overall everything was just okay — some items were pretty pricey too… but I guess they probably use organic ingredients as well.

stopped in on a weekday morning and ordered a few breakfast tacos and a coffee. i’d seen their«breakfast tacos + stumptown coffee» sign so many times on my way home from the gym on saturday mornings, that i finally decided to give it a shot. it was such a hipster ad. the place is cute. a huge menu is on the left when you walk in. it was a little overwhelming but thankfully there are only 4 tacos to choose from. i went with the classic, bacon and eggs, and vegan. ordered a lovely stumptown coffee to wash it all down. the vegan taco was my favorite. it was super flavorful and, even though i am a total meat eater, i love soyrizo. i liked the bacon and eggs one the least — it didn’t taste like anything. the tacos are served with green or red salsa, but i asked for both. i loved the salsa verde the best. i’ll have to come back and try one of their sandwiches.

Schodorf’s is a solid, casual, reasonably priced lunch spot that is good for mixed company(vegan/vegetarian/carnivore). When I moved to Highland Park I ate at Schodorf’s every day for a week because we didn’t have a refrigerator or stove yet. Unfortunately, I had the delicious classic breakfast sandwich too many times in a row and can’t eat it for a while. It’s so big I usually saved half for lunch. It’s got eggs, cheddar, tomato, arugula, and chipotle aioli on toasted sourdough for $ 7.75. I had to bring breakfast to a work event and brought the three guys each one of these sandwiches and they loved it and also couldn’t finish it. The chipotle aioli has a great kick. Schodorf’s had a special vegan BLT for a week that was my favorite fake BLT I’ve ever had. I wish they would bring it back, the fake bacon was perfect. I appreciate that Schodorf’s has both a vegetarian breakfast taco and a vegan one. I don’t like their soyrizo, I think it’s way too strong, so until I go full vegan I will stick with the vegetarian breakfast taco which is hardy and tasty. The curried chickpea sandwich is a big disappointment for me and my husband. I bought it for him because he loves chickpeas and curry and he was not impressed so I tried it myself the other day and I could barely tell it had curry or chickpea, just a bland paste. I think it’s a great idea for a sandwich, I hope they overhaul the recipe. When you order at Schodorf’s they give you a metal table number. At most places this means your food is brought to your table so it’s very confusing that at Schodorf’s they just yell out your number when your food is ready and you are supposed to go get the food at the front. Several times I, and other people I’ve witnessed have sat there, deaf to our number being called because out of habit, when you take one of those metal table numbers you expect food to be brought to you. The whole point of those numbers is so that servers can identify your table. I got used to it but I keep seeing other people not realize and I’ve had to lean over and tell people their number is being called. Service is quick and friendly but they are not on the ball at wiping down tables and chairs between patrons. I recently arrived to an empty Schodorf’s and found every single table dirty so I had to pick the one with the least gross scraps of food to sit at. I find the prices reasonable but not cheap so I expect a little more but considering the table number thing, perhaps there are not enough employees to take care of all of these things. I haven’t been back to Schodorf’s as often because I got sick of my favorite vegetarian items and have been more into Kitchen Mouse and Amara Kitchen’s type of offerings lately. I hope Schodorf’s brings back the vegan BLT!

Judging by the complaints, I take it that the regulars hated change. I ate here today for lunch, not too bad. Had the vegan curry sandwich, and it was really tasty — filled me up. Pretty much the run-of-the-mill sandwich shop, one of many in Los Angeles. Fair prices, quick service and pleasant service, and pretty basic-to-good recipes. I would return.

Had a really excellent lunch here today. Especially stoked about the vegan options. Definitely coming back on a morning for the breakfast sandwich and the stumptown coffee. It seems like most of the bad reviews on this place are from cheap asses who only care about large portion sizes. The people behind the counter are friendly and the décor is very cool and low key. This place rules for me so far.

Schodorf’s, what happened to your menu??? I used to come here all the time for my favorite delicious, inexpensive sandwiches. They recently changed the menu and the new options are not only much pricier, they are mediocre. I really didn’t care for the 2 sandwiches I got since the menu change. Please please please, bring back the old menu!

Pancho Takes One For The Team… WHAT say you? You’ve heard the old saying«Take one for the Team» — The act of someone willingly making a sacrafice for the benefit of others. Still don’t understand? Pancho ATEVEGETARIAN&VEGAN food for the sake of Unilocaling! Sadly I’ve had this place on «Bookmark» since it opened in early 2011 and while I live just blocks away I’ve never been, while the sandwiches looked pretty good I’ve not had the urge to go check them out UNTIL one Beautiful Morning I saw this and that got me to stop and check them out, it also got me to return the following day! so this review is based off two visits, they offer Four different Tacos, the first visit I had regular breakfast tacos, and my second visit I went for the Vegetarian & Vegan… Taking one for the Team! BREAKFASTTACOS — Served on Fresh Hand Made Corn Tortillas! Classic, Bacon & Egg — Classic $ 2.50 — Beautiful hand made corn tortillas! with a nice spread of pureed pinto beans, scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, crema, cilantro & red onion… while the tacos are pricy, they are worth every penny! 4-Star Bacon & Egg $ 3.00 — Same as the Classic but add BACON… the bacon was thick and crispy, I wish it had a bit more BUT I’d take this Breakfast Taco over MOST of the Breakfast Burritos on my list. 5-Star NOW, this is where Pancho takes one for the Team… VEGETARIAN&VEGAN — Vegetarian $ 2.75 — Beautiful hand made corn tortillas! with a nice spread of pureed pinto beans, scrambled eggs, roasted potato’s, queso fresco, crema, cilantro & red onion… it’s got a lot of flavor, and while«I» do miss the lack of meat, it’s something I would order again. 4-Star Vegan $ 3.00 — Beautiful hand made corn tortillas! with a nice spread of pureed pinto beans, roasted potato’s, soyrizo, nopales, cilantro & red onion. I hate to admit this but… next to the Bacon & Egg this was my favorite, Lot’s of Flavor! 5-Star They also offer Red & Green Salsa, while it’s not spicy it does have pretty good flavor. AVG: 4.5-Stars

Is it weird to order a vegetarian sandwich and add bacon? LOOKWHODOESN’T CARE. When you think of the word«luncheonette,» you think of a small place with lunch foodstuffs. This is an accurate description of Schodorf’s PUSH the doors to enter the narrow restaurant that’s both full of character and nice people behind the counter. They have aguas frescas and soup of the days and bottled drinks to top of your salad/sandwich choices. You can order a full or half order of anything, but we all know the full size is what you’re gonna get. So quit playin’. Schodorf’s has my absolute favorite chip selection, which has mysteriously gone missing from the grocery stores I tend to frequent: New York Cheddar Flavored Kettle Brand Potato Chips. Like, wtf man? They be making me sweat and look forever and ever for that yellow bag. WHY? No worries. Schodorf’s got me. Anyway, come in, order your food at the counter, take your number named after the local avenues(not the gangs. Sorry, bruh) and wait for them to call your number. My sandwich was built on ciabatta and it was delicious. You already know the chips were in my mouth. I was surprised to learn there wasn’t wifi, but I got over that ish real quick. In closing, I’d definitely eat at Schodorf’s again. All day, son. ALLDAY. Or, at least until 4 pm. Not including Sundays.
