Updated this review right after leaving. Why? Well because everything was going fine until it was time to pay. When we arrived we asked about two different offers that appeared in their Unilocal page. One was for Groupon, the other for Unilocal Check-In. The server was nice and even made a joke but before she ever said her joke she told us that we would get the same offer from Groupon. We thought that was it but when time came to collect the money she retreated quickly and got her manager involved, only saying that he’s more familiar with how the discounts work. So the manager starts explaining the different discounts but all it did was sound more confusing. I suggest doing a more simple discount like Rodeo down the same street or just keep the Unilocal discount only. Anyway he brings out the tab and we pay. We leave expecting a goodbye but instead we were the ones who had to say it and when he returned the gesture, he did it in a way that came off as unprofessional and rude. In my girlfriend’s words regarding the explanation of the discounts, «it felt like I was negotiating the discount!» The experience for the customer is important from the greeting to the farewell. I still believe this place has a long term plan but I would hate to see it fail because of small occurrences like the one we experienced at the end. It left me with a bad taste after their food left me with a great one. For that I give four stars instead of my original five. Maybe then they will have more dine in instead of take out customers. Original five-star Review Starts here: Deserves every star and more! This place is clean and beautiful! The food is amazing! The portions and prices are perfect for what you are getting. Other places would charge more! The juices are so tasty and large. I wish this place with success because they really deserve it and I’m sure they will be. Oh and before I forget the service is of the highest standard! I’m so happy that I found this place.

This place is amazing. Food was delicious. From churrasco marinero, timbal de camaron to the drinks this place is definitely a must. The only thing I would recommend this place is to improve their customer service. I had rated this place with five stars but right before leaving I disliked the way the manager treated us. He made us feel like we were negotiating all the discounts that they had on Groupon and Unilocal. When at the end it all came down to being the same thing(five dollars off). I left a tip because I thought they deserved it but when my boyfriend and I were about to leave we were hoping we would be thanked for our business. But we were the ones who said good bye and in return the manager had food in his mouth, didn’t bother to look at us and waves his hand all rude and unprofessional. It made me feel like they are nice up until you pay. In that case I shouldnt have left any Tip. Consider this another tip.

This is a great place. Our server was Carlos M Yanez and he was on top of everything. Friendly service and Awesome Food! The Churrazco Marinado was my plate and it was their most expensive item but definitely worth the cost. The place shows a lot of promise. Definitely recommended. Try the Guanabana, Passionfruit and the Blackberry juice. On top of all this, on Friday nights they have Salsa classes for free. If you are in LA looking for a place for delicious food you have to come here.

Another great restaurant that’s opened near the LA Live area. Came across this restaurant when doing one of my random searches for whats hot and new within the Los Angeles area. Steak with shrimp on top… Why not. This was a quick trip due to the Super Bowl so the menu was viewed quickly and it was straight to ordering. The staff was great and was willing to answer any questions as well as offer suggestions from the menu. I had saw the steak and shrimp dish(churrasco marinero) prior to the visit so ordering that was a must and it didn’t fail. Both the steak and shrimp were great and the sauce surrounding was creamy and flavorful. The steak was also very tender. Lomo saltado is one of my go to dishes when I visit most Peruvian restaurants so grabbing this to share with my cousin was also a must. The beef was tender and the sauce that the dish was sautéed in was just as delicious as others I’ve had. You can never go wrong with this dish. Last up was the unknown dessert and yes, it is unknown what’s in it. However, I don’t need to know its ingredients to say this was delicious. Cinnamon is probably the only thing I can say was in the dessert. I can now add this to restaurants I’ll go to other than LA Live within the area especially if I’m looking for a good steak and shrimp dish that isn’t high in cost. Lunch 2÷7÷2016

The food was excellent. The service incredible and friendly. The restaurant is relatively new, so don’t be shocked if you find it a little empty at first. It’s only a matter of time before this place is booming with customers! They specialize in South American food. The portions are very generous and the taste is just amazing. My wife got the lemonade(cucumber and mint) and it was so ridiculously good, I have never tasted anything like it. I got the SL Shrimp, which was more delicious than any curry I have ever had(and I’ve had my good share!). The Shrimp were good size too. I’ll be happy to return again!

This place is amazing, I highly recommend it! The food was delicious and the Service we received from Carlos was spectacular. My husband and I were looking for a place to eat before attending an event at the Staples Center. We are not from this area so it was difficult trying to find a place to eat without knowing where to go. I Unilocaled restaurants in the area and found this one and decided to give it a try. We were both extremely satisfied with both, the exquisite flavor and great service we received and we will definitely make this our new to-go-to place every time we come to LA.

I had a very good experience here. I was greeted by Liccett who is very friendly and knowledgeable. She recommended some dishes and I ordered a chicken empanada, an arepa and the pescado coronado. Everything was very good, especially the fish. I will be back soon with the family.

Okay so what do you do when you run completely out of adjectives strong enough to adequately convey your love for a place? Give up? — — – You create one! This place was the bommmb-shiz-nickety!!! Feel free to steal that one. I’m copyrighting it no sooner than I click«post» on this review anyway! Hahaha. So I received an e-mail a week or so ago from Lizette, co-owner of Sazon Latino inquiring on whether or not I’d be interested in a «soft opening», red carpet-esque, behind the scenes, up close and personal firsthand look at the menu of Sazon??? Uhm — yaaaaaaaa! Let me gas up the bat mobile and I’ll be there with a Lewey bag full of appetite! Fast forward and we dined here just last Friday. Heaven help us if this place isn’t a –TOTAL– find! Located in DTLA on Olympic adjacent the Ramada, between Bonnie Brae and Westlake sits this new-to-the-scene gem. Arriving during the hub of «anti-gridlock», it goes without stating that parking on the«main street» just was NOTGOINGTOHAPPEN yet… we located it on Bonnie Brake(free of charge). Already off to a good start!!! No sooner than we trekked in were we greeted. Not just by Lizette but by way of the aromas of la cocina de su abuela!!! The smells wafting from this restaurant alone, are more than enough to induce salivation!!! We were then made further aware that the restaurant provides parking for patrons by way of the Ramada Hotel lot just next door. THANKFULLY — we didn’t pay for street parking, I thought to myself. What I can attest to, is this place conveying a snippet of cuisine spawned by pretty much EVERY culture south of the border. From delicious empenadas to Colombian dishes such as Churrasco Marinero(a tender steak served with shrimp atop in addition to a coconut marinade that is to DIEFORRR!) with all of the trimmings(rice, beans and plantains). I ordered the Lomo Saltado(beef/steak cut into thin strips served with a white wine reduction amid {of all things} fries and fajita veggies) and he, the aforementioned. The presentation, itself, would seriously have been enough to make Wolfgang — puck!!! But ya’ don’t have tuh’ take my word for it(see photos)… The menu details a massive variance for one to select from and we both departed as full as ticks! We’re talking absolutely reminiscent of The Klumps(from the Nutty Professor)!!! But not before we were offered desert! Jeeez!(reaches for«Insanity» DVD)… Bestowing 15−20% off of meals with a simple Unilocal check-in, this place has solidified itself to be our newest go to spot as not only was the meal de-lish, but the prices were right and the ambiance was certifiably seXXXy.; we’re talking dim lighting and outside fire pits. The mounted flat screens were also a definite nice touch. Thanks Lizette, for providing us with this electrifying experience! I actually can’t wait to return. Sazon serves as a definite positive addition to the DTLA scene. ExceLLLent job guys!

Best empanadas ever! I really love this place. This is my second time here. First time came for breakfast and it was delicious. But today I went a little bit later as I want to try their lunch menu. Pollo gratinado was great. Tender and juicy but again, my favorite was my appetizer: empanadas.

The food was excellent, the service was inconsistent. My coworker ordered Dr Pepper and the waitress brought root beer instead. Also when we asked her about the special she didn’t know. Apart from that it was a pleasant experience, the attention given to us by the waitress was great and very friendly, and the place is clean.

Great food and intellectual conversations. My number one dish that I have to have everyday, the chicken empanadas. Three at a time every time, no lie. Carlos, Lizzette and Hector are very cool to talk to, their waiting game is the lickitie split and on point. Merry Christmas and thank you people’s for reading

Amazing food. The wife and I thought it would be a good idea to support a small business on Small Business Saturday so we thought it was a good idea to head over to this new restaurant located 5 minutes down the street from Downtown. We were greeted by Carlos, one of the owners of the restaurant whom recommended a Pollo Gratinado and Bandeja Paisa. Both classical Colombian dishes. As a Mexican who is a bit picky about seasoning and trying new dishes, this place hits the nail on the head. My chicken was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. My wife couldn’t stop talking about their rice and beans. Service was great, the prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. Overall, an amazing dinner. The restaurant was well lit, nice and clean. Service was great and the food was amazing. We will definitely be heading here again.

So I live right up the block from here and I wasn’t sure what had open up at this location, cuz the last business really killed the spot. Funny cuz that was the name of the business prior from the disaster one. Anywho, so I walk by every morning and see there is a breakfast buffet, this catches my eye. I’m curious as to what new is popping, so on my way home I see it’s open and decided to check it out. Thank goodness cuz my other option was the El Pollo Loco across the street, blah! I walk in and was the only customer. I was greeted by Carlos, one of the partner owners. Well I had the Lomo Saltado and was very pleased, followed by the«Unknown». A desert that brings the best of a Arroz con leche and flan type of taste. Actually it was way better than both. I was in postre heaven. I will definitely come back and reclaim this spot as my revived hangout. I had the pleasure of a great conversation with Carlos. He is a cool kat. I would recommend Sazon Latino if you in the neighborhood. Btw, live Latin music is to come soon, so bring your dancing shoes.

I’ve had lunch here 3 times I can honestly say this is great food it’s not Mexican food its Latin food and this is very good the owners are here everyday to make sure that every guest has a positive experience if you want to see the difference go to the other place down the street and see how they treat you I guarantee that you will be coming back here for the food and the service
