Best food around. Wait is moderate and prices are reasonable too.

terrible service there is one woman that works there that always spills ½ the salad out of the bowl when«mixing» then spills ¼ of it when pouring it into the container and is overall rude the salad itself is ok but you can get the same quality for cheaper at MIX on hope

Salata is like a souplantation salad bar only with all the toppings you can fit into a to-go container. I like that there’s a lot of toppings to choose from and you can keep asking for more but the toppings are nothing to rave about, many of which looks like they’re from a can. Moreover, salad dressings can make or break a salad and Salata’s salad dressings are just so mediocre. No vegan/vegetarian soup options at all. All the soups that I’ve seen from my visits have been made from animal broth. The breads are very blah. I could do without it even though it’s included in the price of the salad. I brought home the bread and tried to feed it to raccoons and they wont eat it. #raccoonsdisapproves

Went here for lunch today after speaking about the mishap months ago. I must say Salata employee Angela is as sweet as can be and restored my business in this place.

To be honest, this place would be an herbivore’s dream. $ 8 for a veggie salad(add $ 3 for protein) with unlimited vegetables immediately hooked me. Albeit the servers are a bit stingy when it comes to your base lettuce and toppings, but it doesn’t hurt to ask for more. Wide selection of dressings and toppings as well. My personal favorite is the Herb Vinaigrette. Which actually is the only dressing I’ve got there… but I’m sure the others taste fine. Service is nothing special but what do you expect? They’re trying to get through the lunch rush and serve as many people as they can. I’m sure over time this place is going to get even stricter with their portions due to the high LA rent and the competition, but I’m reluctant to see if things improve.

Salads are very fresh. Lots of topping choices for the salad. The artichoke hearts are really good. The bread is really good, I went with the whole wheat bread roll.

Solid option for a quick DTLA lunch during the work week. Great value when compared to Mixed Greens located around the corner. Love the unlimited toppings and great selection.

Not bad. Had a salad here once and tortilla soup. It comes with garlic bread or wheat bread. The line can definitely be long at lunch. You can get a good sized salad for $ 8.

Great idea, but pricy with so-so service. The good: amazing selection(lots of veggies, some fruit, and some nuts & seeds), fresh-looking produce, looks clean, relatively fast. The not so good: staff isn’t vegan savvy(surprising at a place that only serves salads), the expensive iced tea was brewed way too long(not yummy at all when the cinnamon takes over the flavor), and the staff wasn’t very friendly(maybe a bad day, I’ll give them another chance).

When salata first opened I loved it! They used to pack the salads up with all your favorite toppings. Now not only are they EXTREMELY stingy with the lettuce as well as the toppings — they include bugs as well. When I was enjoying my salad, what I thought was a black bean was actually some sort of black flying beatle. Unfortunately for me, i didn’t notice until I BITIT. Automatically I spit it out and saw that it had wings. I left my office promptly and asked for my money back. Thank GOD i didn’t get sick after. Never going back.

Love that you can get your pick of ingredients – as many different kinds as you want. It would be nice if they had suggested combinations. It can be risky deciding with all these toppings at your disposal. It’s a bit pricy. I would come here twice as often if the prices were only $ 2 cheaper.

Salads made to order are OK, but overpriced. 13.00 for a salad and a soda. Nervous, distracted, twitching employees. Can’t possibly remember that they asked you the same questions 2 seconds previously. Anything that happens that is slightly out of the ordinary throws them into a tailspin.

Tasty, made-to-order salads with all-you-want toppings. At $ 10(with chicken) the salads are a bit pricy. But I appreciate that this includes as many veggie toppings as you choose — and they are generous with each one — together with a slice of bread. I am not exaggerating when I say that I usually select at least 15 toppings(including egg, cheese, onions, pumpkin seeds, sprouts, various legumes, croutons, pita chips, etc.). Maybe $ 10 isn’t that bad after all… As much as I am learning to enjoy Salata, it’s a shame that Salads 2000 closed down. If it would reopen somewhere nearby, I would frequent BOTH of them.

4 for food quality –1 for service. Worked with 3 people on my visit, each successively less engaged with their job. The cashier was so busy chatting with another associate that she forgot I was there and that I had handed her money. She looked surprised that she had a 20.00 Bill in her fist. Just focus long enough to get me out! Other person seemed put off when I asked for dressing… because she forgot that part of the process. Food is fresh– servers would obviously rather be elsewhere

Came in yesterday just to get a bowl of soup and was amazed by a variety of fresh cut produce. The ladies upfront were so nice and gave me dressings to try. I couldn’t say no delicious ginger peanut dressing, so I ordered a wrap to go. You can even get kale and spinach for your wrap!!! You also get a choice of tortilla, so I got a texas bbq one. Seriously selection of freshly cut ingredients is amazing. I also got a raspberry lemonade-absolute delish. Their greek yogurt has unlimited toppings! !! How awesome is that! Definitely coming back again and again for great customer service, nice and friendly staff, and delicious food!

At first I was in love with this place because it has so many different ingredients. You can eat a different salad every day by switching up your ingredients. I was going 3 – 5 times a week for my lunch hour at work. I loved that it was $ 8 flat and $ 10 if you want chicken in it. More than I like to spend for lunch but reasonable for what you’re getting. I take all my coworkers there and guest from out of town. Now that they raised the price I feel like they just tried to hook you with the lower price and then higher it. I’m not happy about it. I still go but maybe about once every 3 weeks instead of 3 times min a week. Same thing for my coworkers, we’re not happy with the increase in price. For that much money I can go to a sit down restaurant and get a salad.

This is the place with the longest line so you know there has to be a reason why. It’s basically a salad bar where the people behind the counter throw things in your bowl as you tell them what you want. You start with your greens choices and follow your bowl down the line through choosing numerous veggies, cheeses, salad dressing, etc. Ask for as much as you want because it doesn’t cost any more until… you get to the protein section. Choose things from there and add $ 2. A final toss to ensure all your ingredients are nestled together with dressing, pay and start enjoying a fresh, well-priced salad. You can turn your salad into a wrap, or take advantage of the Greek yogurt bar too — but I’m too busy being proud of myself for filling up with kale to try either of those ideas today.

Not my favorite salad spot, but definitely a good deal. $ 8 for unlimited veggies, $ 10 w/chicken or $ 11 w/seafood. The vegetable selection is big and has all the basics; average quality, nothing gourmet. Avocado costs $ 1 extra, but otherwise everything is unlimited. Also comes with your choice of bread.(Wraps are even cheaper — $ 7 w/veggies, $ 8 w/chicken, $ 9 w/seafood.) Plus, you can add a $ 2 cup /$ 3 bowl of soup to your order. Great deal! Servings are generous, options are abundant and prices are reasonable. I still prefer Loose Leaf or Mendocino Farms for salads, but Salata is a back-up option. Fyi — Dressings could be a lot better. I’d avoid the caesar, it’s not good.

My 2nd visit: free salad + iced tea promotion! I got spinach+spring mix, bow-tie pasta, sundried tomato, chickpeas, black olives, green peas, corn, carrot, tomato, croutons, radish, mandarin orange, green apple, red grapes, strawberries, jicama, black beans, dried cranberry, walnut, sliced almonds, walnut crumbs; sundried tomato dressing(next time i’ll just get olive oil). All that would have been a $ 8 salad. Score! — — — — Salata is a great healthy addition to the somewhat-dead California One Plaza. I think it is a Texan-chain with a second outpost in Downtown LA. This place replaces Salads 2000, next to Dan’s Deli. Opens 10:30−3pm Monday to Friday Though there are wraps and soups, the made-to-your-liking salad is the thing to get here. $ 8(tax included) for all you ever want in a salad. It’s not by weight, so load up! Start with picking a salad leaf mix or mix it up and get a bit of all 4 if you want. Labels clearly mark your options. Next are 24 choices of most things you can think of(tomatos, peppers, radish slices, carrrots, corn, bell peppers, etc. Then, you move down the line and have another 16 choices of nuts, fruits, dried fruits, cheese, egg, tofu, etc to add on. Scoot down and pick a dressing, and only 1 because choosing all 10 would make it weird. Proteins — I believe are add $ 2 for various kinds of chicken and $ 3 for seafood Don’t be a chump like me and forgot the free bread. it is included! 5 choices. Add some crunchies like croutons, sesame sticks or pita chips(not pictured). Then you pay. Drinks are behind you — bottles and fountain. So simple. Oh, there’s a Greek Yogurt bar too(8am — 3pm M-F). I got: Spring greens mix(red leaf, green leaf, red cabbage, arugula), carrots, corn, tomato, green peas black beans, chickpeas, black olives, jicama, radishes, mandarin oranges, strawberries, grapes, egg, dried cranberries, pumpkin seeds and sesame sticks, with a ginger lime dressing. Each bite is deliciously different! The décor is so-so but you’re only in there for about 5 minutes. Wraps are $ 7(+$ 1 or $ 2 for chicken or seafood). Soups are $ 3 for a cup, $ 4 for a bowl. For the salad wrap, you go through the line picking your ingredients, then you choose one of 8 or so fancy tortillas(I saw a thai ginger tortilla), the heat it up, stuff your bowl of stuff in it, slice in half and in the clamshell they go. Mendocino Farms is the only other good option down here at Cal One. The line at Salata moves quickly. $ 8 for a large-and-filling salad in a 7 inch x 8 inch clamshell box — healthy and awesome. Where Salads2000 failed was that they charge by weight, whereas here, it’s $ 8 inclusive. I think this place will do well!
