This review is for the GREATSTEAK. but it doesnt really matter since all stores have the same owner. When this place first opened, years ago. the place was clean, good, with quick service and good food. As time progressed, time has ravaged this place. Fixtures and countertops falling apart, soda machine a leaky mess, straw wrappers all over the place. Service is a bit slow, but i didnt mind, since cheese steaks are made to order.(no one wants a heat lamp cheese steak) I hate giving one star, but this place warrants it. No thanks for the«food court» Ill goto subway 100 yards east on vermont.

Okay so I’m doing this whole lose weight and diet crap o’la and a friend and I decided to walk to this place to grab a salad. You can order your salad with what greens, dressings and extras(chicken, pecan, fruit, etc) I ordered the Field of Greens which sounded really good, greens, candied pecans, fruit, avocado, feta cheese with a sprite came out to $ 13 and some change. Got it to the office and it was horrible. I mean so gross I took 2 bites and grew it away. I should have taken the advice of my friend and just ordered the basic side salad. Waste of money, it was sloppy gross and I was hungry.

I was originally trying to a find the Unilocal page for the«food court» by the Wilshire/Vermont Station, but I figured I’d write a review for the closest possible business without starting my own review. First off, Salad by Design is not bad. You can chose your own toppings and whatnot and the produce is usually relatively fresh. However, I think the price is a little high for what you get, especially because the portions aren’t huge or anything. Also, it takes FOREVER for you to get your meal. So far, my review has been relatively lackluster, but not damning either. As such, you may be wondering why I only gave this place two stars; why not three or four? Well, here’s why: I ordered Parmesan chicken once and it was really just teriyaki chicken from the neighboring foodstand. There was no Parmesan. There was only tomato sauce, like Pragu or something. Imagine a sandwich slathered in tomato paste, without cheese or a nice breaded exterior. No flavor except this limp, damp, slightly slimy white chicken underneath. Ugh. I suggest going elsewhere. So, while not exactly related to Salad by Design, the neighboring food spots are better. I like Great Steak(Philly Cheese steaks) because you get what you want: greasy, heavy, hardy food. If you want something fatty, this is the place to go. I think the portions are a little small, but that’s fine because the meals are so filling. The Jonnies Pizza is okay as well, but nothing fantastic. Just a place to grab a slice when you’re in a rush. Samurai Sam’s(Teriyaki Bowls) is okay too. I like the wraps so-so. I know it’s not salad, or fresh-er sandwiches, but I’d go to these places over Salad by Design. And if you really want a sandwich, try the deli next door. They make it fresh and it’s not too bad.

I have not been here for a while and they have fallen off of what made them great before– They have raised the price and reduced the portions. I use to LOVE this place. not anymore

I was pretty happy about my turkey chopped saIad… but more impressed by the variety of other good places to choose from… Great Steak(Philly Cheese steaks), Samurai Sam’s(Teriyaki Bowls) and a Jonnies(Pizza). I picked up lunch for the office today from Salad by Design and Great Steak and everybody was pretty happy! Pros: Variety! Fast &GREATSERVICE! Deliver!!! 213.385.3100 Cons: no website

Walked over from school to see the new«food court» at the Wilshire Vermont Station, near the Coffee Bean. When you walk in, there are several different places inside, but know that each type of food has its own register — even if they share counter space. We eyed everything in the place, but we decided to both have salads. You can choose from their gourmet salad menu, or you can decide to build your own based on their ingredient rubric. You can choose between spinach mixture, green leaf/romaine mix, or romaine. Then, you get to choose four ingredients from a huge list, and your dressing. The salad comes out to $ 5.95. If you decide to add a protein from another list, they’ll add $ 2.50. My salad was the perfect size with romaine lettuce, bacon, red onion, chopped egg, and avocado. I had them add grilled chicken. The people were really nice, there wasn’t a big crowd, and we were able to sit at the nice tables outside. I’m already trying to think of my next salad combination.
