Saby’s counter-person threw change at a customer, who is a young blind woman. This is unacceptable. Our community must not support places that act with such prejudice against disabled customers. Boycott Saby’s!

I went here with a friend. I had ordered a burrito and payed about $ 8 for it. It never came. About an hour later I went up to the cash register and asked about it and the women working there didn’t believe me and was trying to make me pay for it again. Disappointed.

Horrible. Do not waste your time or money. Would give negative stars if I could. Food was nothing special. The service was horrible. Ordered an omelet and a chilaquiles plate and since we were eating there they wouldn’t let us pay at the counter. They insisted we sit so they could wait on us; if you’d seen this place you’d understand what a joke this is. In the end I had a cup of coffee spilt on me by another patron who was trying to squeeze through the tables(this place is tiny) _and we were over-charged $ 4 by the owner’s 10 year old daughter who was running the register. We will NEVER go back.

I got three tacos: Carnitas, Asada, and Pollo. They were all awesome, unpretentious traditional tacos – homemade tortillas(double tortilla = pro), delectable fixings, and *exceptional* salsa on the side. The tacos were inexpensive, and correspondingly small in size, which honestly I prefer – definitely good bang for your buck – but I am still a bit hungry. Lady who took my order was cute and nice. Interior is colorful, with charmingly mismatched table furnishings. Definitely looks like a family run operation, which I dig on. They have a lot of cool stuff on their menu I want to try next time. Seriously though the salsa is great. Note: They have a credit card machine, but your card has to be chipped. ATM nearby.

The 4.99 breakfast burrito somehow comes out to 6.50 total. Not sure how that works. It was pretty good though.

This review is solely based on Saby’s Breakfast Burrito. Taco Bell has been shoving the breakfast ‘defector’ down our throats for a few months now, and because of this, I’ve been craving a breakfast burrito of sorts for awhile now. I drive-by Taco Bell on Venice /Grand View daily, and that sign triggers a ‘bell’ in my brain that reminds me I’m excessively hungry every morning. The search for breakfast beyond the safety of my own home has hit. It’s either Taco Bell, or scope the scene. I chose the latter of the two and scoped the scene. Low and behold, Saby’s Café popped up and I moseyed on down on an empty stomach. Welcomed with a smile, I observed a small /generic menu with fair prices across the board. I eyed their breakfast burrito which consisted of eggs, bacon and cheese for the low price of $ 2.99. Shocked, amused and hungrier than ever, I asked if I could add a few items. This not being an issue, for an additional $ 2 they’ll throw in avocado and hash browns. In short, you can walk out of here with a breakfast burrito and coffee for around $ 6. The burrito itself isn’t HUGE per say, but it will definitely fill you up! Pleased with the price as well as service, it seems as if the burrito shows up not too long after you order. And there’s something about that ‘homemade’ — ‘mom n’ pop’ taste that you absolutely can’t get at an every day fast food chain — Fresh avocado w/scrambled eggs along with crispy bacon slices and golden buttery hash browns that are lightly salted to my liking wrapped in a tortilla that is accompanied by a hot sauce(mild IMO) that adds an additional burst of flavor. Hot and ready to go, just like me! Wait, what. Though, I haven’t tried anything else on their menu. their breakfast burritos are reasonably priced, decent portions and taste great. I can safely assume the rest of their food is just as good, if not better. Conducive to my schedule, on my route to work and truly solid food, Saby’s has accommodated my morning needs without even knowing so. If you’re trying to get that breakfast burrito on the fly during that rush hour between home and work, call Saby’s, place your order, stop-by and carry on!

Good breakfast burrito at a cheap price. My only complaint was that it was a bit on the small side.

Breakfast taco for me I went into a tiny restaurant called Saby’s. 4 tiny tables elbow to elbow. 4 steps from the door to anywhere in the place. I stepped to a tiny counter and a tiny Mexican girl behind it at a cash register. Above her was the only big thing in the place, a sign with blurry photographs of different kinds of tacos and rice and beans. I asked her for a Mexican omelette and asked if they had orange juice. She turned her tiny body to look at her tiny mom standing in the dark at a stainless grill with a stainless hood over it. She spoke Spanish to her then turned to me. «We make it fresh. Large or small?» She said I could sit. I picked the tiny table facing the big square window looking at Venice boulevard. It was mostly covered with old dusty but brightly colored paper signs. A few thoughts later she brought me a large white oval plate with a three egg omelette stuffed with green and red peppers melted jack cheese it came with beans and rice. She placed a tiny blonde basket with freshly pressed and steamed corn tortillas in it wrapped in paper. $ 6. The glass of orange juice was wide and tall.

Love this place, been coming here for years. I always order ahead and pick up because they do take long, but that’s what happens when he food is freshly made. The food here is great and the staff is friendly and helpful!

Saby’s is hit or miss with its food — some very good items, and some very bad items. The service has been consistently good. The employees have always been very friendly to me. It does take a bit of time to receive your food, but everything is made in a homemade sort of way, so it makes sense. The Good: My favorite item so far is the wet burrito. Seriously A+! Huge portion, and stuffed with lots of meat, cheese, and a variety of vegetables. The green sauce is the way to go here. The fish tacos are amazing. They have been sold out twice when I have gone there. However, the sauce slightly overpowers the others flavors so you may want to get it on the side. The homemade chips are great and the salsa is delicious. The Bad: The mole sauce was way too bitter for me — to an inedible point. The quesadilla was seriously terrible. So sad. Very tiny and barely anything inside. $ 1 fast food quesadillas have more meat inside them than this does. The price for this quesadilla would make more sense if it came with rice and beans. Overall, not bad. I will certainly return!

I like to order the breakfast burrito + potatoes + beans because I’m dangerous like that.

A nice little family Latino run establishment. I felt welcomed and the food prices were good. I only ordered the breakfast sandwich and a coffee. The food is from Southern Mexico. I think I remember them saying Oaxaca(If that sounds like Wahaka).

A friend wanted to try it so I’m back and I have to say They get 5 stars now. Very nice service and they now have an A in the window. Good hole in the wall food for cheap. The breakfast burrito $ 3 bacon, egg, cheese and its bomb. Very busy during near by school lunch time around 1pm, but I will be back soon.

Stopped by for a grilled chicken salad and a fresh juice, 30 minutes later I was finally on my way out. Gosh were they slow. Which was weird because there was only 3 other people inside. The cashier lady was kind of rude too. If you’re going to have an attitude with customers your food better back it up and sadly this isn’t the case.

Amazing. Cheap, huge portions, bad ass flavor, and excellent service. No beer inside but thats cool bring your own booze to wash it down. From this point on this is my go to for Mexican, hands down. Dont believe me? Well, yer just gonna have to try the deliciousness for yerself. 5 stars all the way!

Saby’s is pretty damn good, and pretty convenient too, if I might add. It’s right down the street from my daughter’s school, so it’s a nice place for me to have breakfast in the morning. Their huevos rancheros and chorizo and eggs = delicious. They also have a good breakfast sandwich and breakfast burrito. That and a coke and I’m set! I’m not into fish, but people rave about their fish tacos that are served in Tuesdays. They’re very reasonably priced as well. This place is a nice little gem in Mar Vista that I don’t think enough people know about!(better for me!)
