Since I live close by and often pass by her salon, after reading the Unilocal reviews, I decided to give her a try. Since I speak Korean, I spoke to her in Korean. Definitely no frills place, but she gave me an excellent haircut, just like how I wanted it, and only charged me $ 20. Seriously, I’ve been to more expensive salons with bells and whistles, but I was actually more pleased with her service. It was really a pleasant surprise. Only walk-​ins accepted, but for the price and the satisfaction I got from her service, I will definitely go back to her again.
One thing to be aware: She only accepts cash.

The high Unilocal stars and brief skim of reviews led me here. Boy was I wrong for a number of reasons. The owner of the salon who is also the only haircutter was a cordial, motherly Korean lady which I am very accustomed to in the context of haircuts at least. However, as my experience told, she was not only mediocre in her knowing few styles or «frameworks» in which to cut, but also was very unprofessional in dealing with customers and did not make me feel at ease as she obviously rekt my hair. Also, price was $ 15, NOT $ 10 as advertised because she used scissors at some point along the way.
I will admit, my hair is not the easiest to cut. I have straight puffy hair with a lot of roots and therefore, tend to wear hats often. I don’t enjoy styling my hair either. Nor am I one to defame someone, but I def came out of the store unhappy.
The whole time I was trying to communicate that my hair was not the average hair and that I didn’t like styling it, she insisted that I choose one of the styles from her homemade collage which featured a limited selection of celebrity hairstyles. However, it was not turninv out the way it looked in the book and so, I would make suggestions or asks throughout the cut and she would proceed to a) tell me how that would not look good and then b) go ahead anyway and make irreversible decisions on my hair.
As I’m not am expert on hair, I wouldn’t expect her to take my suggestions wholeheartedly — I expect some level of discretion on her end as the professional. Yet, she would immediately implement my asks and frown upon it aft wards. As the haircut progressed, it was just getting worse and worse. Towards the end, she placed the blame on me for not having just followed the styles in the book and also communicated that is was my hair’s fault and that I would HAVE to style it for it to look good,
And one more thing that I’ll be a little nitpicky about… the way she rubs the shampoo into the scalp lacks firmness and really takes away from what is one of my personal fav experiences.

Got my haircut on the weekday again. Luckily that I did because she will be closed from the 16^th and reopen on the 23^rd of this month.

She does a great job. Just be sure to bring a picture or choose one from the magazines she has available, unless you speak Korean (I think?). I’ve been here 3 – 4 times now, and these are the best value haircuts I have ever received. If you’re clear about what you want you’ll get a designer quality cut for a GreatClips price.

I can’t believe everybody gave her 5 stars. She is sweet and inexpensive but doesn’t speak English and is not a great haircutter. I had to point out that my sides were not even. She simply could not get it in her head I wanted it shorter Even though I had a picture and kept saying shorter. Not a horrible cut but I could have gone to Simple Cuts or anywhere and gotten equal or better

I take my kids here for their hair cuts. My older son cries every time he gets a hair cut. But the she does the job with grace and speed. So I don’t take him anywhere else. I also took my youngest son to get his first hair shave. very satisfied with how she handles kids…

I wish I could’ve given her a 5-​star, but the side bangs weren’t right on me and she didn’t want to spend more time looking for a different style of bangs for my hair. Kind of disappointed, but at least my hair was layered nicely. The haircut was also decently priced. It was really hard looking for her shop. She’s in between an eye shop & antique shop. I placed in a 1+star because she was nice. Other than that, it could’ve been a 3-​star.

The lady that runs the shop is so nice and works fast. Can’t beat the price for that combo.

This place is great! she cuts nice hair and you cant beat the price! :)

Found this tiny salon on Unilocal!Was thrilled with my results.
1. This place is on the main street. Make sure you don’t get a ticket while getting your hairs cut.
2. This place isn’t fancy, either. The area nor the space will «wow» you.
3. What will «wow» you is the fact that this tiny, adorable Korean lady runs this joint. She is meticulous, careful, and cuts hair with a passion. One can tell that she’s been cutting hair for a long time. Her creativity and her strategy is quite simple: shape the face of her client, ask what they want, give what they want, and succeed.
4. I came here at 5:00 PM. She locks the door for security purposes. By the time I left, there were 3 other men in line.
If you’re looking for a simple trim, and not looking to spend a lot of money, with not a lot people, I say to go here.

$ 20 for women’s haircut? Yes please! A very sweet korean lady owns and runs this salon. No frills or extras. Just a quality haircut.

I am very nervous when trying a new barber. seeing all the reviews Are men And positive i decided to try it. I’m really happy with my hair cut here. She listened to what I wanted and also implemented her own knowledge. She made it so that my hair looked clean and professional. She did a great job and very cheap 10 $ gets a cut with a shampoo!

My girlfriend and I came here because of the Unilocal rating. I like my hair real short so I get a men’s hair cut and my girlfriend gets a women’s short hair cut. The stylist was concerned at first about cutting our hair as short as we do but she realized its our heads and did exactly what we asked for and it was cheap too. Thank you.

Where can you go and find a shampoo and haircut for $ 10 dollars? I left guilty for such the great job the owner gave me. I gave her a $ 5 Gratuity maybe even more next time. After I lossed my go to hair cut at home, moving to LA has found me a new stylist. She was very nice and made sure I left satisfied. I do not speak korean, but she was able to understand my style and delivered a great experience.

Great place to go and get haircut. This place is very quite and extremely clean. Also, the owner /​hairstylist give great advice! I really love coming here and getting my haircut from her.
