I’m friends introduced me to this place. And we had such a good time that I decided to come back after mass on a sunday. We were lucky and still catch the lunch special which is $ 5 for each plate and the plates are big you will be fully satisfied. We order the choi mein and kao pao chicken plate and Mongolian beef plate. It was soooo good. Upon arrival they bring you tea(which is so good and healthy) and white steam rice. Our overall final bill came to less than $ 20 dollars for two people. We left with huge bellies because belive me you won’t finish all the food., we wee so full. We took it home. Parking is a bit of a situation but we found free parking in the street across. Otherwise they have a small parking lot in the back.

I agree with others below. Extremely rude and not very hospitable. Food is ok, nothing to endure the poor service. I would avoid bringing large groups here.

We were in the area buying some fresh whole chickens & were hungry. Unilocal to the rescue for someplace cheap, fast & delicious. I was shocked to see only 7 reviews? Such a Hidden Gem for Chinese really! Service was really nothing special. But for $ 5 a person for lunch this place cant be beat. Also ordered an order of their Garlic String beans which were perfection. Nice semi-thin, garlic flavor present & cooked with a snappy crisp left. The Pork Chops with«Spicy Salt» were a hit. Nice big pieces of deep fried crispy pork goodness. The salt is really just a flavoring & not spicy at all. Also kept it simple with an order of quarter deep fried chicken. The Chicken was nothing special but the skin on it was cracker thin & crispy like Peking duck thin. Mmm! All lunch specials come with steamed rice, soup which happened to be egg drop corn soup today, & hot tea. A huge selection of offerings for lunch. Will be returning for dirty cheap eats soon!

I went into the restaurant one day and found out they serve shark fin soup and because of the inhuman way they kill sharks and leave them to die, rather than utilizing the whole shark i refuse to eat at places who serve this meal, so i walked out with my kids.

Could someone confirm if this is the same place as «Regent China Inn»? If so, and it seems to be the same address, DON’T GO!!! Regent China Inn was the rudest, worst experience I’ve had in a long time.

Chinatown still houses a few good Chinese restaurants. Most great Chinese restaurants can be found in the SGV during the recent migration of immigrants over the last 20+ years. Right across from Philippe’s on Alameda Street is Regency China Inn. It’s a restaurant less visited since it’s on the outskirts of Chinatown. Fried peanuts lightly salted are served upon seating. The menu is here is quite typical of Chinese restaurants. I find the dishes here to be very good as compared to the other restaurants in the area. The Yang Chow fried rice is delicious with bits of bbq pork, large prawns, and Chinese sausage. Green bean in garlic sauce comes out fresh from the wok. Fish with black bean sauce was good. About better than average from most places. My favorite dish here is the beef with ginger and scallions. The beef is quite tender and not very salty. Portions here are generous at a fair price. I’d rather come here than Yang Chow located on Broadway. The décor here is nice and clean. It’s not a hole in the wall. Parking can be found behind the restaurant. The service here is quite attentive with a smile.

I come here often with my family because it’s cheap and the food is actually really good. We pay about $ 90 for a party of 8 during lunch. No complaints here. :)

My brother recommended this place to me. I tried it yesterday with my wife for the first time. We loved all our dishes. Chow mien noodles were very flavorful. Sweet and sour pork and kung pao beef dishes were awesome. The portions are perfect. The prices at this restaurant are very reasonable. The staff is very attentive. If there is anything negative I have to say, they only had white rice. Brown rice should be put on the menu. The appearance of the dining room is a little dated. We will be returning very soon!

Food is excellent and the price is great. Lunch specials run about $ 4.95. Service is quick. The only downside is that parking is really really limited but you can always park on the street for $ 2/hr.
