If you say you are open by a certain time, open! It’s now 7:20am. The business next door has been hustling to get their stuff out for the past 40 minutes.
Really disappointed.
(Edit: The added stars are for the young guy that opened. He was very friendly and extremely apologetic and felt really bad for not at least having opened the door to check for customers. Still not happy it wasn’t open on time as I am very limited with it today but can appreciate when businesses own up to their mistakes.)

I like that this store is set up like a sam’s club/​costco. Very convenient and easy to find everything once inside. Prices are somewhat compatible, but a little over priced by $ 3-​$ 5 per bag of candy as long as you have a membership. Otherwise, you’ll be paying almost $ 10 more compared to all the stores on the same block. Customer service was very dull and no one tried to help me until I checked out. I would recommend this store for it’s convenience, warehouse style isles, and cleanliness, not for it’s prices or customer service. If you want a deal you may be better off wheeling and dealing in the tight and compact mom and pop shops.

Raquel’s is my «go to» candy supply store. It’s organized which i love because i can get in and out easily. The prices are fair and it’s convenient because they literally have EVERYTHING in EVERY color under one roof. I often recommend Raquel’s to the multiple FB party planning groups I belong to.

My go to for my party supplies. I usually begin here and hop from one to another. There is 5 – 6 shops on just one block. All selling same toys, candies, and supplies. Some have more than others in selections or styles. I come out here at least 2x a year to visit my sister. This store and area is a stop for me! If you have never been in downtown LA or Tijuana the streets may not be as clean. Many homeless laying on sidewalks mattress and trash litter the back streets. Parking is very scarce. Raquel offers free parking for their shoppers. Good walking shoes a must. Maybe a large sturdy bag to carry all your party supplies, spices, candies, toys, etc…

At the center of the piñata district, Raquel’s is a colorful assortment of piñatas of all different sizes and has shelves of goodies that you can use to stuff the piñatas. Epic find.

Awesome store right in the heart of the piñata district! They have excellent customer service and always a huge variety of candy, piñatas and all you may need for your party’s and all at a great price. This is your one stop shop for all your party needs.

Bought dulces de camote and they got moldy after 3 days. Bought my niece a unicorn piñata and the girl apparently told the guys to get down a donkey piñata. The man brought the piñata to me and I told him it was supposed to be unicorn he turned around and said no you wanted a donkey but I’ll switch it. He told the other guy there «la pinche señora quiere otra piñata «I guess he thought I didn’t speak Spanish! Never will go back!!!

The prices are cool, but the candy selection leaves a lot to be desired. The lack of variety coupled with the absence of name brand candies, made my trip a complete waste of time. And what’s up with the $ 5 parking? Yes, the $ 5 is refunded, but you must make a $ 30 purchase. There are competitors in walking distance that offer free parking, notwithstanding whether a purchase is made. Just seems like a hustle IMO. Lastly, if you don’t plan on making a large purchase, forgo the membership (they scan your driver’s license as part of the process — not sure what they intend to do with that sort of information).

Nothing changes in this area of Downtown LA. I’ve been coming here since I can remember for every birthday party.
You have sort of shops with a variety of piñatas, candy and party favors. The prices in all the stores are competitive and depending on the sales person which is usually the owner they can give you a good deal.
It’s still worth the trip to come down here.
