I love B B Q. One of my favorite meals. My first time tasting Randolph’s Smoke House Barbeque. It is one of the best I ever had. I got the rib tips. They are meaty and tender. «GREATSMOKE B B Q TASTE» I will be making a return visit.

So, two meals and fill bellies later, I have finally found a rib spot I can count on. The Mac it’s from scratch and is a perfect match to their rib tips. Parking can be a bit of a position, but the food makes up for it. Plus you can order from Unilocal,so that gives it a bonus. You can also order via phone, too. I will be back in two weeks. Need more rib tips.

A new contender for BBQ supremacy! A worthy one at that. I got a tip from another Unilocaler and pointed me to Randolph’s Smoke House’s as a good BBQ joint. When it comes to BBQ, I will seek it out. I Love BBQ =) It’s a small place with a couple of token tables available for dine in. This is primarily a take out joint. I got the 3 meat combo which came with 2 pcs of bread and 2 sides. Tri-Tip — It’s thinly sliced, piled into a mound with BBQ sauce poured on top. As you might imagine, only the top pieces had the bbq sauce. The tri-tip was very tender and flavorful. It was good without the bbq sauce, but I preferred it with it. Ask for extra bbq sauce, you’ll need it. Pork Ribs — Fall off the bone! DELICIOUS! I do prefer my ribs to stay on the bone until I bite into it, but this was still very very good. Smoke ring was evident and the bbq flavor exudes in this dish. YUM! Rib Tips — was okay. it’s smaller than what I usually get. The meat was tender. Their bbq sauce is very good. I can taste the spices, but it’s not spicy at all(to me anyways, lol) The sides were OUTSTANDING! Red Beans & Rice — The Best RB& R I’ve ever had! The flavor on those reb beans were spot on. Get this one. Collard Greens — The Best I’ve tasted as well. Perfectly cooked and very tasty. I liked it so much, I even drank the soup after i ate all the greens. lol. DELICIOUS! Service was very friendly. Price was reasonable. Parking could be an issue. They have street parking out front. All the spaces were occupied, so I made a right on 84th street and parked it at the corner. This would be advisable for big vehicles like my pick up =) Randolph’s made a great push for #1 but Bludso’s is still the champ. With their good Pork Ribs and delicious sides, they’re currently #3 on my BBQ list. If you love BBQ as much as I do, give Randolph’s a try and decide for yourself =) 2015 Review #177

Very good BBQ at a very good price. The 3meat plate is awesome. Place is kinda small but the food is good.

I went to a party that was catered by Randolph’s. My friend is a very fussy black man and I knew he put a lot of thought into what he ordered. The most important factor was that the meat was wood smoked, not just some charcoal barbecue stuff. I tried a couple different sausages, the hot ones being my fave, chicken, and pork ribs. The red beans and rice were so delicious, I could have just had that for with some sausage for my meal. The greens were very good too. Also a meal in itself because it had so much ham hock. I definitely recommend the catering service, it was a big hit! They had a ton of food there, and I didn’t think there was any way we would eat it all, but when I went back for round 2 for a drunkin’ snack, all the ribs were gone!

I went to this place today after reading these reviews and Im so very glad i did! Not only was the food great but the service I got from the owner was remarkable. This is trully a great restaurant and ran by wonderful human beings. I had the rib bits and they were mouthwatering. I dont usually login to Unilocal to give good reviews lol(most have been due to bad experiences) but in this case recognition was in order.

Heading to Bludsos, my friends and I got stuck in heavy traffic. Hadn’t eaten anything all day, we realized we weren’t going to make it to Bludsos so we decided to find a closer BBQ spot to eat at. Unilocal lead us to Randolph’s Smoke House. We decided to go with the family platter which came with a slab of ribs, chicken(which we wanted to switch out for anything else,) a pint of mashed potatoes, and a pint of baked beans. So I ordered and asked if we could switch out the chicken for anything else. «NOSWITCHINITEMS» wtf kinda BS is that. «ok fine whatever, we’ll take the family platter.» So they started preparing our meal, and as we sat there I decided to get a root beer float with their apparently famous Baby Bell Ice-cream. The lady serving it up took her sweet time. I watched her sloth back and forth trying to find the vanilla ice-cream. Pouring in the root beer as if one milliliter too much would ruin the whole concoction. Finally about 10 minutes later she handed me the root beer float which didn’t even taste that great. The vanilla ice cream kinda tasted like it had been sitting in that freezer for a good few months, which didn’t really surprise me. Who orders boring vanilla ice-cream now anyway? Ten minutes later the cook calls me to the window and shows me that heavenly looking slab of ribs. «What kinda sauce do you guys want?» «We want SPICY!» I reply back to him. Everyone in the kitchen looks back at me as they ask in unison, «you sure you want spicy? Spicy is REALLLL spicy» I second guess myself, ask my friends, «you guys all want spicy right?» «HELLLLLYEAA!!» so we order their spicy sauce thinking we were in for an exciting experience. We drive back to our friends place and bust out the plates and forks. Open up all of the containers and dig in. Mashed Potatoes — meh. nothing special. next time gimme some mac n cheese instead, but again, they don’t switch anything out… again, what kind BS is that? Baked beans — had a little jalapeño kick to them. not bad. but like the potatoes, nothing special either. Chicken — dry, just like we expected. Left pretty much all of the chicken in the container. No thanks. No wonder they don’t let you switch out the chicken, it’s so unappealing they have to force you to buy it in order to sell any of it. Ribs — ok so their ribs are pretty much the only good thing that came from the experience. Smoked to perfection, nice and tender, definitely good stuff, and why I think this business has as many stars as they do. So we pour this«REALLLLL spicy» sauce over our ribs. Wtf? Real spicy my asss, the sauce was tangy and sweet. If this is spicy then. thennn… idk. but this isn’t spicy. Get your sauce straight Randolph. A good spicy sauce can make those ribs so much better! tl;dr — Ribs are good, that’s about it. Wont be returning, wasn’t bad, but wasn’t worth it either.

I hardly ever go this Hard on a Place that sells food… but today… I have found a place that has hit a new Low… 1) I ordered 3 things that cost $ 8+$ 8+$ 7 with tax and the girl charged me $ 34 Now how in the F is that $ 34 she did the Math in her Head and came up with that… So I asked her to itemize that up She then Looked at the register and suddenly she couldn’t find my receipt… Uh Nah baby you didn’t use the register… However she realized her mistake and corrected it. OLDGAME don’t use register and come up on Cash… 2) The Service from the Owner to another customer was awful. Old Guy comes in and asks where is your Menu… Owner replies… On the Wall… then hurries the guy into ordering. 3) Who cares about any of this if the food is good Right??? Well I got Sliced Beef… YUCK Awful… I threw it out after one bite. I also got Beef Link Sandwich… Boiled Links sliced up with BBQ Sauce on it. YUCK Lastly I got Rib Tips… These ______’s had the nerve to get some Ribs out of a Fridge and pour Hot BBQ Sauce on it to warm it up and this Meat was OLD too. If I ever go back to this Place Please someone KICKMEINMY&$$ If you go to this place after this review you is one DMF I am pissed off that there was nothing I could enjoy.

The ribs were very salty and had a thick sauce that was more like bbq paste than sauce. Mac and cheese was ok. I like my beans with less sauce. I was scared to park. The hood was kinda rough. Was only going for the ice cream and decided to try the ribs. My favorite is still Lucile’s in Cerritos, hands down. Love me some Lucile’s.

For my first time here, I ordered the three meat dinner special; I chose ribs, tri tip, and white meat chicken with sides of mac&cheese and red beans and rice. Since I called in and ordered take out – not that they have sufficient indoor seating(one table), I had to suffer smelling my food all the way home! I started with my chicken. The meat was juicy enough, but the sauce made it top notch. The sauce is a nice blend of seasoning with a savory kick. You can taste the seasoning as you kick your fingers :) The tri tip was AMAZING-tender, juicy, and lean; however, the ribs were the winners in my book. God. The meat was so tender, it melted in my mouth right after falling off the bone. The red beans and rice was awesome, the rice came in a scoop on top of the beans, and let me tell you, I needed more rice it was so good. The mac and cheese was better than the pictures listed but not the best I’ve ever had. I couldn’t not order yams, but I do regret it because ihave so much food for later. LOL I like my yams simply naturally sweetened and tasty. These yams had a cinnamon seasoning and came in small chunks, different and not bad by any means, but not what my mouth was anticipating. For $ 20 even, Randolph’s delivered a completely satisfying meal worth the money. The person that helped me out at the register kept asking me who I was sharing with because there was enough food to feed a small army, or family ;) Pictures next time because I couldn’t wait&because my camera was on the fritz. #nomsohard #bbqadventures

My usual BBQ joint is Bludsoes due to location and taste but this place is fairly close to my work and got such good, albeit only a dozen, reviews I had to try. Randolph is a nice welcoming man and when I called in my order it was ready within 10 min. Unfortunately the BBQ and sauce was not to my taste. We ordered the baked beans and it had a very strong clove flavor. The ribs also had a thick coating of spice that wasn’t too appealing although the meat fell off the bone.

This place is AMAZING! I love bbq and unfortunately there just are not GREAT choices around. This place beats any competition in the area. I had the tri tip and beef links, but also tried the ribs and chicken… It’s all good. My favorites were the ribs and links. As far as sides, potato salad is good and so are the baked beans. The only thing I didn’t care for too much was the corn bread.

OK, I wish I could say something nice about this place… but I can’t! RUN, don’t walk away from this place… I’ve visited 3 times and it just got worse…1st time I got the sampler platter… Brisket was crumbly & not well seasoned, links were oversmoked & dry, chicken was inedible… The only saving grace were the riibs, which were a little fatty, but OK… The sides weren’t that much better. Potato salad was tasty, but the greens & black-eyed peas??? Crying shame!!! I saw these other reviews and thought I would try them again… BIGMISTAKE! Just order 1 slab of ribs for small gathering… the ribs were stringy! SORRY, But folks should just avoid this place…

GOTORANDOLPH’S!!! Why is it that they have barely any reviews, they were not busy when I went there, and their food is SOOOO good??? I went to pick up for the office. BACKINALHAMBRA! I was already in the area and I decided I wanted great BBQ(which you definitely cannot get in Alhambra). Amazing. Friendly. Gave me Kool Aid while I waited for my huge order for the office. Mac and cheese was so tasty, cornbread was still warm from the oven, BBQ sauce was perfect with the slices of bread, greens were tasty… everything was great! They should be PACKED all the time! GO!

TonyC’s recent review of Randolph’s got me on the 110 today. I got the spare rib sandwich, collard greens + corn bread, sauce on the side(molasses-y, mildly sweet). Bottom line, this place is #2 or 3 in LA, and it wasn’t even Friday when they fire up the smoker. Bludso’s may have to share that throne, but their brisket is safe because Randolph’s doesn’t have it on the menu. Good greens, though. I love a place with good sides. I’ll check back in a week or two, let you know what happens. Update: May 11, 2012 I wanted to make sure I went back when the barbecue was as fresh as possible, so I gave them a call whenever I had the opportunity to make the drive. It took a while, but my patience was rewarded. The spare ribs straight out of the smoker are spectacular, on even footing with Bludso’s. They are equally succulent and smokey, not overcooked, and flavorful. If I had to, I would give Randolph’s the upper hand because of the spicier dry rub. Contrary to my original understanding, they don’t have a set schedule. They make more when they run out and freeze what doesn’t get sold, so you might have to check daily to get ribs that are at their best. I think it’s worth the extra effort, though it’s still great on other days. I wrapped the leftovers two ribs at a time with plastic wrap and put them in the freezer. Reheat in the microwave for a minute or two.

I randomly walked in here because the restaurant I wanted to go to was closed. That being said, I cannot get the taste of these people’s barbeque out of my head. It was surprisingly the best barbeque I have ever had in Los Angeles. I had their foods almost a week ago and quite frankly, living on the west side does not afford me many visits to South Central but for this food, I am glad to make an exception. The restaurant was appropriately clean and the food was prepared well. The service was Outstanding! The server helped me choose the right meal for me, and she even warned me that they use real cheese in their macaroni and cheese. She also helped me save a little money too with their combo meal plats. So I ordered four of them for my family members and I and let me tell you, all were shocked at how great their food was. It is takeout food so you may want to place an order over the phone. Overall, the menu had a great selection of wings, sandwiches, Rib platters and dinner plates. Not many healthy options though, but this isn’t the place for that. BTW those mac and cheese were so good, I was too ashamed to tell my mom because even her macaroni do not compare. I don’t understand why they do not have a Unilocal presence and I thought I would be doing this place a disservice if I did not at least let my fellow Angelinos know of this place and how good their food REALLYIS! I’m not a huge fan of this type of food, but will definitely go back.
