Ramona Martinez

Met Ramona today for a cut at Crop Salon. She gave me layers and cut off a good amount of length. My hair looks so healthy and beautiful and it is perfect. She is effortless and great at her craft. She was also a lot of fun to talk to. Will definitely go back to her for my next cut.

I’m almost hesitant to write this b/​c I feel like as soon as the word gets out about Ramona at Crop I’ll never be able to get an appointment… But I CARE so here ya go:
I got my first cut and color with Ramona when she was still in Atwater Village at This Or Die Salon. I had just moved to the hood, went off a Unilocal rec and she was great. The color was so spot on what I wanted and the cut was maybe one of the best I’d gotten in my LIFE.
But I’m a New Yorker so I was skeptical. One good cut does not an allegiance make.
So over time I went back… and then I went back and back and back. Every cut was seriously better than the last.
Then Ramona moved from This Or Die (not surprising – she was way cooler than the vibe at that place) to Crop Salon in Highland Park where she is now. It’s not my hood but I followed her there and have been to this cute little salon about four times now.
I’ll just say that Ramona’s cuts are hands down the best I’ve ever gotten. They are as edgy as you want them to be, full of movement and style and grow out so so well. I have very literally never gotten as many compliments on my hair before as I do after a Ramona cut. One of my close friends is already a convert.
SO, go meet her and get your hair cut. There is absolutely no way you will not look better than you do right now. Go.

Ramona is a creative, warm hearted, master hairstylist! My thick overgrown, heavy, wavy hair was long past needing a trim — it needed a miracle! I showed Ramona a few pictures of the mid length cut I was going for and she immediately knew what would work best for my features. Ramona is a down to earth, creative soul! You can tell she is ready to take direction or give you inspiration for your hair. Plus, Ramona not only makes you feel immediately welcomed and comfortable, but more importantly, she makes you feel immediately confident in her skills. A graduate from the Paul Mitchell School, she has expanded and honed her skills through the years working in San Francisco, New York and finally got her buns here in LA! (Thank goodness!) She is a welcome addition to the Highland Park area and Crop Salon (the shop where she works). I feel so lucky to have finally found someone nearby to take care of my hair!
