This place was yummy, but not the best pizza I’ve ever had. I really liked there merch though. The graphic prints would be perfect LA souvenirs.

Sorry guys! I wanted to LOVE this place and after all the glowing reviews I was shocked & disappointed. As a New Yorker, I am fussy about my pizza. Sorry, it was just way too salty and not very flavorful. The crust was too bready and sauce not so great:(. The place itself is cute & convenient but I won’t be returning.

The worst pizza I have had in a long time. I m a NY’er so I expect the real deal … Here is my breakdown; the crust was chewy but not bad The cheese was poor quality n too salty. The sauce was bland and there was no seasoning. The salt content was so high I would never go back and advise u to keep walkin past Prime pizza.

Went here last night with my daughter for a bite to eat! She smacked on the BBQ chicken and I smacked on the cheese pizza. Cameron was super nice and accommodating he works the front. Now on to the pizza. I really enjoy NY style pizza. thin with crispy crust and a nice amount of cheese. Prime Pizza did all that! I also asked for my pizza to come out super piped so that dried the crust a bit but totally at my request but HOT like I like it. My daughter liked her bbq pizza. She enjoyed the flavors but wasn’t expecting the jalapeños. The parking is ok. have to park on Fairfax at a meter. Depending on the time that can be difficult.

Had a craving for a slice and wanted to re-confirm my original 12/20/2015 post. Yeah, it was excellent. Ordered a pie for takeout. Got the Garlic Knots too. These aren’t your Olive Garden or franchise restaurant variety type. They were very, very tasty. Dip these babies into the red sauce… Delish!!! Definitely turning on everyone I know and speak to from New York to visit this pizzeria.

Finally found my pizza place! Easy online order option, delicious thin pizza and reasonable prices! Cheese pie with a salad is my jam! Plus their service has been consistent as well as their delivery timing.

Oh, Prime Pizza, you need to do better! Not a fan at all of their regular thin crust pizza. Exactly like any dollar slice in NY… But not a great dollar slice in NY. There is nothing to review. It is unremarkable in every way. The thicker Sicilian square pizza was better. The crust was good and the pesto was nice. Not perfect but good. Order this if you must go. The outside of this place looks so ghetto. I like the other joints this company owns, however they could try much harder here. Have some pride for the neighborhood guys!

I love this place and let me tell you why: 1. The pizza is as close to NY/NJ style pizza that you are going to get out here… so that’s the first plus. 2. The guy making the pies is from Harlem, NY – another great sign – super friendly guy too. 3. Other employees working here are from NY/NJ area – want a legit pizza place in LA? Employ people who know legit pizza. 4. The buffalo wings are THEBOMB!!! I love these things and can house at least a dozen in a sitting. 5. Everything I have had here is solid. The only negative: The pizza, wings, etc. cost an arm and a leg but that’s how pizza is treated out here – it’s priced at a premium because a halfway decent pie is like a rare delicacy in these parts. Oh well, supply and demand I guess.

Another one of my «where the heck did this place come from?!» moments… I used to be a huge fan of Damiano’s Mr. Pizza, but alas they closed and I thought I was doomed to life without late night drunken pizza. Fear not though, for Prime has arrived. Actually it hasn’t arrived, it’s been there and i just never knew. Also appropriately just up the street from where Damiano’s once stood, as if to say«Hey, I know you’re hurting, I’m here for you». Open until 2am and slinging some LEGIT New York style pies. Their buffalo chicken creation is heavenly. If you are craving a slice after a night of… well, anything really, then this is your place to be!

Somehow, this place totally slipped under my radar and I never knew the guys from Golden State and Cofax opened up a pizza joint! Luckily while I was in the mood for pizza and scrolling through my options on one food delivery app or another, I happened to see that Prime Pizza sold pizzas by the slice. Ingenious! I ordered a couple of slices right away and waited dutifully for it to come on home to mama. The pepperoni pizza is a stunner! The crust is crispy yet retains a very nice chew. The pepperoni is crispy on the edges with a nice full flavorful kick of spice that melds so well with the cheese. loved the basil component and all in all just such a nice, nice slice. I also ordered an anchovy pizza slice that is one of the best I’ve had. Salty little briny fish swimming in a sea of cheese may sound unappetizing but dude dont’ knock it till you try it. Prime Pizza really is one of the best options out there and I can’t wait for more.

The best thing about this place is that Unilocal allows you to order via their app. Tried calling but they couldn’t hear me. They charged $ 3 for sausage as an extra topping, however they added what appeared to be hardly nothing on it. Quality of the pizza itself is okay at best. Could use better quality of toppings and sauce, cheese. Love the fact the slices are big and thin crust, almost like NY style pies. If you don’t care about overpaying and it 1am on Saturday night then this is your place.

The guy behind the counter was nice… but this pizza didn’t do it for me. Also, the tiny pepperonis freaked me out. ha. If you like reheated pizza, then… maybe you’ll love this place. I kind of hate those joints.

Prime Pizza’s NY-inspired hybrid dough formula was made in consultation with Best Pizza in New York. The crust is made with a blend of Caputo 00 and King Arthur Sir Galahad flour(high protein pizza flour). It also contains honey, sugar, oil. The sauce tasted very simple; probably just a bit of salt and garlic added to Stanislaus Alta Cucina tomatoes. If you want oregano notes, you’ll have to add it yourself on top of the pizza, ditto for parmesan cheese They bake at approximately 600 degrees in their Marsal oven and a 20-inch pie is done in 8 – 9 minutes. I’ll leave it to others to debate how«New York» this pizza is or isn’t, but I thought it was quite good in my estimation. The pizza wasn’t over-topped. The balance of the crust and the toppings was nearly perfect. I would have liked just a tiny bit more tomato sauce. The crust was chewy, but not overly so and the rim was crispy. Prime Pizza definitely belongs on the short list of «elite» pizza places in LA, regardless of the style.

Prime Pizza is a butter face. It looks great far away but it doesn’t live up to expectations. The search for NY style pizza has been an ongoing battle for us and we’ve come close at Mulberry but I was hoping for something more from Prime. I thought this would bring us to the finish line but unfortunately it did not. Details: — Sauce — flavorless. I actually added San Marzano tomato sauce to the pizza to give it some pinch — Cheese — again, no flavor. Except for seeing cheese, i wouldn’t have known there was any on this pie — Pepperoni — this was good. They use small pepperonis so there’s one for every bite — Basil — there are little pieces of basil on the pie, which are nice, but didn’t make this pie — Crust — the crust under the toppings was a bit loose but i found the end crusts to be crunchy and nicely salted. This is certainly the best element of the pie and if they had better sauce and cheese, this could be a winner. The search continues…

There are few restaurants that I think give a customer a one star experience. This place is one of those that you ask yourself how it had this many solid reviews! I bought the Sicilian Slice for 4.75 with a side of Buffalo wings for 6 bucks. Total $ 11.75 which reminded me of spending this at mCDonalds. The slice took 5 minutes to come out and was served after a customer after me got two different slices. Next it came out cold and soggy and the cashier who had zero serving experience just gave it to me and told me it was soggy because it was oily, and slowly replaced it with a corner piece that he somehow toasted on the bottom and top was still cold. Saltiest wings ever– Nuff said. Owner/manager was sitting right there and said nothing except flip the wings for me? Because he was on the computer. Didn’t offer me ice on a hot day or even ask how the second piece turned out. If it had a shred of you should go in you I would be back but gosh. Super shabby! Not sure. Bad day? Lol. Hope so!

So getting here was a pain in the butt because there was street construction out front but I was still excited because the photos online looked amazing and I was really craving pizza. I arrived and was so disappointed by what was on display. I had hoped for a thicker type pizza and everything was super thin and flat. Bummer. Everything looked oily and though the displays were clean I was pretty disappointed my how each pizza looked. I gave it a shot and ordered two slices of pepperoni for $ 7 something. Aside from the pools of oil in each slice of pepperoni, I enjoyed my pizza. I let the oil drip off and eventually removed the pepperoni because they have a spicy kick to them that was a little too much for my palate. If you love super thin sliced pizza and spicy thick slices of pepperoni then this is the place for you. If you don’t, then I suggest going somewhere else. I’ll load a more accurate photo since I felt like some of the ones on Unilocal are not a true depiction. I wouldn’t return again.

Prime Pizza is definitely one of the better slice places in the city. I had a slice of the white pizza and an order of garlic knots. The pizza was pretty good, and while I like my pizza crust to be a little on the softer/chewier side, Prime’s crust is above average. The garlic knots on the other hand were just whatever. Full of garlic flavor like they should be but they were too hard for my liking. I prefer doughy garlic knots. Bonus points to Prime Pizza for not charging an arm and a leg for a slice of Pizza. Will definitely return for more slices.

I don’t like that everyone is saying Prime Pizza has replaced Tomato Pie Pizza Joint. YALLARETRIPPIN. Tomato Pie Pizza Joint is still the top pizza spot in the area. I ordered from Prime to give it a try… their top picks are the Pepporoni and Great White(Mushroom). Too salty, over-cooked, chewy crust, SUPER greasy, unnecessary huge size, and almost 40 bucks!!! no no no no nOoOooo… OHWAIT, but their garlic knots were bomb!

I had a bite of the sausage pizza which wasn’t bad. The cheese pizza was too salty for my taste. The cheese was salty and it had that rubbery texture that I do not like in certain cheese pizzas that I’ve had. The crust was also salty.

Another winner from the guys from Golden State, Colfax, and Bludso’s! New York style pizza(thin crust) full of flava. I had a slice of the ricotta and mushroom pizza… with each satisfying bite, there was this crunch each time. Great vibe. Nice peeps that work there. 90’s hip-hop soundtrack. Highly recommended!
