Worst potato corner I’d ever been to. First of all, they didn’t have the chili bbq flavor available which is what my friend and I went there for after not having potato corner in a long time. Then, when we got our order, the fries were burnt and tasted burnt even with the flavoring. It was very unsatisfying and I wouldn’t recommend going to this location.

Funny how I’ve only been here yesterday and went back today and it’s already closed! As in boarded up, not a single POTATOCORNER ad, nadda! I was craving for their bbq and sour cream flavored fries and theyre gone. There wasnt even any notice if they were relocating somewhere in the area. How disappointing. I had to go all the way to Westfield Culver City just to get this in my system today.

There are few times in life where French fries are so expertly crafted and planned that it is nothing short of genius. Potato corner claims to be the world’s best flavored French fries. After tasting the goods, who am I to dispute their claim! You order by getting into the line that says order here, then, when it’s your turn, you tell the person behind the register just what exactly you want! They give you many options to personalize your order including regular fries, curly fries, tater tots, and chips. Then you tell them what kind of flavoring(again many options like bbq, chili bbq, cheddar, garlic parmesan, and I forgot the other) you want and that will complete your order! Unless you want a drink. Then they have your standard fountain drinks and icees. I’m a French fry purist at heart so I went with the regular fries and no drink. I tried to get the bbq seasoning but was appalled when the humorless register girl informed me they ran out with nary an apology nor a smile. How dare you tempt me with delicious bbq flavor and then yank my hopes and dreams out from underneath me with no restitution! With no bbq I had to settle for garlic parmesan. You have to wait about three minutes for your fries to cook in their ovens which illuminate to reveal the temperature at a toasty 350 degrees Fahrenheit. When they come out of the oven, it’s like magic in your mouth! The fries are so crisp yet the inside is so fluffy soft. The flavoring was just the right amount of garlic and parmesan without being over powering. My favorite part about these fries is that when they hand it to you it’s the perfect temperature to start gorging yourself immediately and they don’t feel greasy or soggy as some fries do when they come straight from the oven. The only negative things I have to say about this place is that they don’t have any of their own seating, the price is a little high(over 4 dollars for 1 dollar worth of fries at McDonald’s), servers don’t smile or make you feel welcome, and they didn’t have my bbq flavor this time! Overall though, when I’m in the mall and I want a quick, delicious, probably not nutritious snack, you can find me at potato corner, a true gastrointestinal delight!

Well, I have to say that I’m probably the biggest Potato Corner fan there is. I can never resist not getting some when I given the chance. Let’s face it… I’m a potato head! Who doesn’t love some sort of deep fried potato treat? After walking around the mall, I decided to reward myself with some french fries. What better snack than some french fries right? FOOD — 3.5 Stars: You can’t go wrong with the food here. I got the original fries with Chili BBQ. Typically, it’s really good, but it seriously just tasted like only chili powder was on it because it was just hot! So, I had to go back and add BBQ powder to it. I’m not sure if they read the order wrong, but it was way off. I also asked for extra powder, but I didn’t want the chili since it had a lot already. So, I ended up just getting the BBQ powder shaker and doing it myself… I was hungry and wanted it pronto! Haha. SERVICE — 2.5 Stars: I step in to order and wait in line while the girl at the counter takes a customers order. I’m next, but she turns her head to people that walked in after I did and takes their order first. I decide to not say anything because it’s not that big of a deal. However, I was a bit annoyed because I was in there before those other folks and there were only a couple other customers waiting for their orders. Anyway, I finally go up to order and the girl is a bit all over the place. It was just a weird experience. It felt like the girl taking orders wasn’t trained enough because I had to repeat my order as if she didn’t hear me the first time. This combined with issue with the powder I previously mentioned, the overall service was a bit underwhelming. ATMOSPHERE — 4 Stars: I will say that this location takes the cake when it comes to the look and feel of the kiosk. It’s enclosed and looks pretty cool compared to the basic kiosk found at West Covina, Topanga, Arcadia, and even the Americana. They do have tables and chairs outside, which has a nice setup for you to enjoy your treats. RECOMMENDATION: Potato Corner is always delicious. Although the service was a bit off, maybe it was just that night… who knows. However, try this place out for a quick snack… it’ll definitely hit the spot!

You get to the mall and you want something quick, salty, greasy, but hits the spot? POTATO!!! You really can’t go wrong with that, and at Potato Corner, you get your choices of different flavors with different types of potatoes! I think they’re pretty amazing. Choose: regular fries, TATERTOTS, curly fries, jo jo chips, sweet potato, or chili cheese fries.(I have a weakness for tater tots and curly fries…) Then choose your flavor: BBQ, cheddar, sour cream & onion, chili bbq, cinnamon & sugar, or garlic parmesan. And then you can get some dips if you like. The smaller order is more than enough for me, but if you have a craving– go for it! It’s quick and service is friendly. Walk around the mall and enjoy your potatoes!(Grab napkins, you’ll have greasy fingers!)

Stay away from the icee — way too sweet(it’s like super concentrated syrup). The potatoes are good but they went really heavy on the seasoning the last time I went. The cup of water at the end was probably the best part of everything I had. Edit: Revised to 2 stars due to quick and courteous reply from management on Unilocal

Potato Corner is all about simple comforts, and keeps it to a simple formula. I’m surprised at all the low ratings — I think it’s all about expectations… this is a stand inside an outdoor mall. This is a junk food, pure and simple. But hey, it’s delicious, interesting junk food! Fry-to-order French fries(normal, loopy, chipped, tater tot, or waffle… the waffle fries are ONLY sweet potato), Chicken Wings, or Chicken Tenders. Then they shake it with your choice of dry flavor(bbq, chili bbq, sour cream and onion, garlic and parm, cinnamon and sugar, etc). You can also mix flavors as well(try chili bbq PLUS sour cream and onion loopy fries). The chicken wings are moist, with a definite crunch to them. We were shocked at how good they were(think a step above hooters super bread wings, a step below wingstop). Nothing’s fresh — it’s all frozen, but they fry it in small batches in their auto-fry machine so everything is always hot and crispy. They also have an ICEE machine and your standard assortment of drinks.

3.5 rounding down… I placed my order, then decided to check-in on Unilocal.I was a bit crestfallen(and now worried) to see the 2 star rating. D: Luckily, we didn’t have a terrible experience and the tator tots overall tasted OK. But certain things could definitely be improved. I’m not so sure I’d want to trade my usual Wetzels Pretzels movie snack habit for Potato Corner. Service — OK, to begin there was ONE girl working behind the counter when we were there. The poor girl was very friendly(and extremely good at getting people to upgrade their order sizes and add on drinks), but she was clearly overwhelmed. We waited a fairly long time for her to finish taking other people’s orders, pop our frozen tater tots in the oven thing, and then… finally!!! mix our tater tots with all the seasoning. We ended up a bit late to our movie. Food — I really like tater tots so I got the tots with two flavors, garlic parmesan and chili(I believe the«Mega» size was around $ 6.50). I don’t really recommend getting an order of these flavors to bring into the theater — everyone will stare and(likely) hate you. The smell will permeate everything, it is so pungent. That said, the flavor is pretty good but in a really artificial way. I mean, I saw the girl dump a paper bag of frozen tater tots into their oven contraption. Then, I saw her scoop out this very artificial-looking powder and shake the tots with it. It tastes OK in the end, but it doesn’t make you feel good inside. :| Weirdly, I feel like this is less the case with Wetzels where at least you know the pretzels are freshly made in the window… The tots also made us really thirsty, so that’s probably another indicator of how much artificial stuff is likely in the seasonings. Overall, it was good to try out once but I don’t think I’ll be back.

There’s nothing special with this joint. Just plain fries seasoned with different powdered flavors. Love the loopy fries tho! Who doesnt love POTATO anyway lol

I love all forms of potato. I had been DYING to try the potato corner. What could be better than having the option to choose from french fries, curly fries, waffle fries, tots or chips and THEN adding delicious flavorings? Well my experience at the potato corner ended up being less than fantastic. Benefits of the potato corner:(1) They fry your spuds upon ordering so you don’t have to worry about eating fries that have been sitting around all day;(2) generous portions;(3) liberal amounts of seasoning;(4) you may sample flavorings before ordering. The reason why this experience was so disappointing was because the curly fries were SOGGY. I’m not talking a few soggy fries, I’m saying that every fry was soft/slightly mushy. Who wants fries that are soggy? This was surprising because like I mentioned earlier, your fries are made to order. It must the ingredients in the flavorings combined with the time at which the flavorings are added after the fries are done that prevents the fries from ever becoming crispy. I don’t know exactly why they were soggy but when your name is «The Potato Corner» it seems like sogginess should not be happening. Figure it out Potato Corner. I should have known you were too good to be true.

I love fries than life itself. However, Potato Corner was quite disappointing. I was intrigued that they offer different types of fries(normal fries, sweet potato fries, loopy fries) and in different flavors like BBQ, sour cream and onion, and chedder. However when I was in the store, I caught myself coughing a lot from flying powder in the air. I seriously was caught in a powder-flavor storm! I ordered the BBQ flavor. The guy poured powder and mixed it like no tomorrow. Potato Corner’s powdery flavors just tasted fake. I quickly got sick of the taste and left an undesirable after-taste in my mouth. Don’t go unless you want an Operation Sandstorm.

Potato Corner is right on my route to get home from school, so I pass by it practically every day. I remember being really excited about it in the days before it opened, being a big fan of potato foodstuffs– and once it did opened, it didn’t disappoint! There are a surprising number of options to choose from, from fries to chips to tots(no latkes though… :(I guess it was a little foolish to hope for them, but a man can dream!). Each also have a variety of shapes and flavors, and though the flavoring doesn’t really try to hide its artificiality(they clearly just sprinkle some dust on there), it still tastes pretty good. The portions are very generous, though the prices are a little high, considering you’re basically buying side dishes. They’d be pretty low for any other sort of meal, though. I like Potato Corner. It’s in a convenient location, it’s small and humble, and all in all, it makes some pretty good fries.

For starters, the location is convenient to the offices near the Mall and not in the crowded food court area. However, the tiny space was so hot and stuffy, it was uncomfortable to stand in for more than a few minutes. Efficiency was also an issue. At lunch time, there was only one person taking orders and making food and the wait was fairly long considering there were a just a handful of people there. I tried regular parmesan garlic fries, loopy BBQ and loopy plain. All were ok, at best. On the one hand, the fries were well browned, cooked evenly and not too greasy. On the other, the potatoes and the seasoning had an artificial flavor that left a lingering, plastic aftertaste. Further, the loopy fries were not consistently spiraled. I did not expect life changing fries, but I hoped they would be better than passable. There are several other potato options in the Century City Mall that offer better fries. Potato Corner is disappointing, but potatoes are potatoes and potatoes are the best.

UnilocalINSIDERTIPFROMDOREEN(AKAAZNPERSUASION): It’s great that your food is made to order in individual portions, the food is good, but not great. Fries from McD’s would be better ***** Fries were not piping hot nor better tasting than other places. The good thing is they have different shapes(tots, etc) and a lot of flavors. But the flavor choices are a little odd(BBQ?) and they’re all processed powders. I’d rather have some parmesan cheese than yellow powdered cheez.

First of all MSG! NO bueno. They should tell the customers that the«special flavoring is enhanced with MSG. After I already ordered the cheddar fries which took like 10 minutes for them to make(I arrived late at night). I then got the the idea of how is this so flavorful & the idea of MSG popped into my head. I asked the young lady, who had no idea what it was so she asked me the full name & she shows me the packaging on the cheddar mix & says YES it’s in there. The girl was super sweet & both employees were nice & polite, so 5 stars for them. But I’ll say I was curious & I wanted to support a Filipino created company & that’s the only reason I went in there to begin with. So I satisfied my curiosity. The fries are ordinary & the flavor was decent, but of course got the MSG headache & my tongue felt like it had a weird pasty coating on it after I ate the fries. So I tried it-not impressed And MSG is a big no-no for many people who are sensitive to it & who are prone to headaches or migraines I believe. Not worth the price. But again the staff people were nice, so I’m glad they have a job. Also the smell of the old oil made me kinda nauseous, so I couldn’t stand inside. They need better ventilation in that place for the employees! NO thanks. I cannot continue to support this & I’m not a huge fan of fries anyway.

Got the curly fries with sour cream and onion seasoning, yech. Was hoping this place would be so much more, like potato skins or gourmet dips but nope, just frozen fries with seasoning. Won’t be going back. If the owners read this please message me, I have ideas on how to make your business something special.

I’ve visited Potato Corner a couple of times. Designed to order and then take-out to eat elsewhere in the mall, the tiny store is tidy, the frozen fries are available in a variety of types(original, curly, waffle, chips, and tots) and are fried fresh, with numerous seasoning choices and dipping sauces. Efficient and quick service, but it’s not immediately clear on which end of the counter you are supposed to order from and the place is crowded if there’s more than five people ordering at a time. On my first outing, I ordered a lemonade, tater tots, and chicken wings. The lemonade was delicious! Got the tots with sour cream and onion flavoring, meh… the flavoring was so artificial tasting and the tots were not very hot. Chicken wings were fatty and greasy. A pretty expensive«meal» for what I received, and not at all healthy. Duh, it’s fried! But in my opinion, if you’re gonna be bad, the junk food needs to be really, really good. And, it just wasn’t worth the calories and the ten bucks. Decided to give Potato Corner another shot a month later. I ordered the original fries with cheddar cheese flavoring. It’s a lot like the powdery cheese on bagged cheese puffs, only more artificial tasting. Again, meh on the fries, but satisfied a potato craving. After two visits, my opinion is to save your money. Skip this high cost, high calorie fried stuff with the artificial flavorings. You are better off baking your own tots or fries at home to satisfy your junk food cravings.

I was hanging out at Westfield Century City the other day with a friend, and we had the munchies and decided to check this place out(since I love pretty much all things potato). It’s a small store by Breadbar near the escalators. And there are a few tables in the area for you to sit at and enjoy your snack if you wish. There are three steps to ordering: you choose what kind of fries you want, then the seasoning/flavour, and then the size. They offer regular fries, sweet potato fries(criss-cut), loopy fries, «chips», tater tots, and other items such as chicken strips and baked potatoes. Their flavours are BBQ, cheddar, chili BBQ, sour cream & onion, garlic parmesan, and cinnamon & sugar. And they have three sizes: jumbo(small), mega(medium), and giga(large). If you choose Giga, you can do half-and-half for flavours. You can also ask for samples if you’re not sure what you want to get. My friend and I chose to share a Mega BBQ-flavoured Sweet Potato Fries. It was great because they had to make it fresh since they didn’t have any sweet potato fries already made, keke. The BBQ flavouring complimented the fries perfectly and it was a nice warm snack that we enjoyed :)
