2016 Unilocal100CHALLENGE — 017⁄100 Tried Pop’d Up at the OC Night Market for the first time today! Saw it all over Instagram, so I thought I’d try it out. Super friendly people! Loved the customer service. I didn’t really understand what made this place special but they made the sodas from like soda water and some other ingredients… I ordered the Thyme Orange Cream Soda. The drink came in a mason jar which was cool, but also really heavy. Flavorwise… tbh I could have done without the thyme LOL, but the orange cream was good! Not sure it was worth how much I spent on it, though. I’d possibly consider trying it again if I ran into them at another event. Might try the Thai tea or caramel apple next time! Bonus: They accepted card at their booth. Yay!

got to try this place out during the dtla Chinese New Years event. I tried the lychee butterfly pea. it seemed like a popular choice. however I think because they were so popular that they were running out of ingredients so my drink ended up very watered down with the soda water. I couldn’t taste the fruit and other ingredients as much as I thought i would .$ 8 I expected to be wowed a little more

I went to the Chinese New Year Festival Parade over the weekend and everyone had glass jars of drinks form this spot that looked really appealing, so my friend and I decided to try this spot, especially since we were pretty thirsty after purchasing an order of Loaded Fries from Tokyo Doggie Style(a food truck also present at the event). We both ordered the Lychee Butterfly Pea which is $ 8 if you want it in the glass jar and $ 7 for the plastic cup. So of course you would pay that extra $ 1 for a glass jar that you get to keep! I mainly wanted to order the Lychee Butterfly Pea for the lychee jelly, since I am a major fan. To be honest the drink wasn’t as amazzzzzzing as I had hoped. It pretty much tasted like soda with a hint of lychee flavoring(theres a lychee inside which is probably the reason the drink has flavor). It was nice that the drink was refreshing in a sense but other than that, you could be getting almost 2 boba drinks at a tea/drink shop at that cost. So in my opinion it is just something I would try because it comes in a glass jar and its pretty cute and unique, but other than that I won’t be purchasing their drinks in the future.

I visited the stand during the China town Summer nights last week for the first time ever. I tried the Green Caramel Apple Soda because I asked the staff what they recommended. I took their advice. It was super delicious!!! It had an interesting taste, but very flavorful. You must try this drink because you will love it! You also get to keep the mason jar when you are done. Nice offering. If you see this stand or want to cater some interesting drinks, check this place out for sure! Awesome & thanks again for the drink.

Shared the lychee drink and the black carbon waffles with daughter and husband. Best food and drink we came across at the 626 night market. Ppl at the booth were so friendly, happy and positive. I wish they had a retail spot or sold their drinks at grocery stores so I could have it everyday! Such a fun company.

Got a chance to sample their delicious popsicles at a recent event. I look forward to trying out their other products. More power to this great set of folks and to the shop. If you see their booth at a local community event be sure to stop by and take a taste of their food!

After eating at one of the food trucks at the Chinese New Year Festival, we spotted this stand that had the aroma of freshly made waffles billowing from it. They’re a relatively new business that specializes in frozen pops and that mostly caters events. On the day that we saw them however, they were trying something new — dessert waffles. For $ 8, we could choose strawberry and almond, nutella and banana, or dried cranberry and peach topping to go on top of a butter cake waffle along with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. I ordered the nutella and banana and because they didn’t have their check-in offer of a free Popsicle, they were nice enough to give me sliced strawberries on my waffle as well. The waffle itself was delicious and adding Nutella, fruit, ice cream and whipped cream only made it that much better. If the quality of the ice cream had been good, it would’ve been an awesome, 5-star dessert. So, minus one star for that and for the price. In my opinion, it was more of a $ 6 dessert.

It’s hard to stand out these days if you’re a boba shop. I think Pop’d Up offers something a little more special than the typical tea shops in the area. They actually came up with the idea of putting a popsicle inside your drink. And the popsicle is in the flavor of your drink so it’s kind of melting into your drink meaning your tea never really tastes watered down. Kind of a genius idea in my opinion. When we saw this booth at the 626 Night Market, we were immediately drawn to their Young Coconut Milk Slushy. I’m not a huge fan of coconut water, but coconut milk and juice is a slightly different story. I was a little afraid that it was going to taste artificial, but no! My drink was absolutely delicious and tasted like they cracked open a coconut right there and then. Fresh and so refreshing and not sweet at all. And that popsicle was just as tasty too and it kept our drink cold for a long time. Now, this particular drink set us back $ 5 which is somewhat pricey when compared to other Asian tea shops but you have to remember there’s a popsicle inside of there so it might be worth the little extra money. I’ll definitely stop by the next time I see them! 4⁄5

Went to LA Street food fest at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, I did the desserts first, my wife came to get a popsicle at Pop’d Up. She got A Pineapple Basil Popsicle and started raving about it. Omg, probably one of the best flavors I’ve ever tried. So refreshing and tastey. A must try…

Went to la food fest in pasadena yesterday and went to this booth. It was a hot day in the high 80’s. I tried some of the other Popsicles but when u tried this place it was flavor to another level. I had the pineapple basil Popsicle. By far best Popsicle I’d ever had in my life. So refreshing with an amazing twist!!! They have this Popsicle contraption that was imported from Thailand that freezes these sensational Popsicles. I want to try the other flavors. There were Thai tea with boba and watermelon. Pineapple basil was beyond satisfying. Keep up the great work. This team you can tell has a lot of passion in what they do and it shows!!! On the top of my list at the la food street fest. :)
