I don’t see the hype for this place, I had high expectations before coming here and was disappointed! I love poke and this one wasn’t all that great. Fish wasn’t too fresh, lacked flavor.

Probably one of the best poke places I’ve had so far. Portions are great. A small bowl is plenty for me. They aren’t stingy with their fish/toppings! I like to get: Base: White Rice First Layer: Crab meat Protein: Spicy Tuna, Scallop. Sauce: Mild Toppings: Masago, Sesame Seeds, Seaweed. Good place to grab a quick bite before heading to a local event. I’ve eating here before walking over to the Hollywood Bowl and before PaleyFest at the Dolby Theatre.

Love this place! The watermelon mint is super refreshing, made daily. Try; you will love it. The bowl and tuna are always fresh and tasty. The cashier and everyone who work here very friendly. Love!

I keep trying to find better poke places than this, but I just can’t. The amount of food they give you for the cost just can’t be beat! They have all my favorite fish, plus crabmeat, green onions, ginger, seaweed, sesame, cucumbers. I mean. So good. The only thing is it can be really annoying to get there because it’s in the Hollywood and Highland mall. But if for some reason you’re in the area or you have some extra time to deal with parking/walking around, DOIT.

Holy shit! I’m not even done yet and I’m reviewing this place. How am I gonna not eat here every week. I’m doomed The fish is super, the concept is perfect, and it’s insanely inexpensive. - Only negatives: it’s in Hollywood central with the dumb tourist crap everywhere. And the music on The Deck is dreck. But this is amazing. I’ll get it to go next time. Oh I just realized I headphones! I’ll be back tomorrow!

To be Honest, I am kinda like I don’t understand some hypes of this particular poke shops at all! Neither I am a picky eater nor I do hate writing 2 stars reviews. The reason why I rated this place 3 stars instead of 2 stars are that the services that I received my previous visit back in last February from cash register was great and yet they were friendly and very attentive. First of all, Chipotle, Baja fresh, Pieology pizza line and some other assembly-line style restaurants have been gaining popularity, and this new particular Japanese restaurant pokinometry is no different. This particular one situated inside the Hollywood & Highland shopping Center not the one down in Anaheim of course, uniquely fuses fast foods with some sliced sashimis. Basically, Pokinometry is completely different than regular Japanese restaurants in that you are able to get a quick, decent meal within matters of minute, as quick as you would eat at Fast food joints. Customers walk in front of glass counter where the staff members help them as they select what to add to their entrée. Still, Pokinometry is different set apart from other fast food eateries as it serves fresh raw fish instead of greasy fried foods. Let’s me explain how the poke bowls are served and prepared in this spot in my new paragraph… In the serving line, the customer is able to choose from a variety of sashimi cubes — spicy or regular tuna, and, yellowtail, octopus and baby scallop as well as sauces ranging from non-spicy to dynamite. The average meal at Pokinometry consists of a bowl of rice w/cubed fish added on top, but the restaurant also offers nachos, wraps, and a salad as a main course. Each bowl is separated into rice and fish, but after the fish is mixed throughly with the selected sauce, it’s added to the rice along with whatever other toppings that customers would like. XXX Each bowl comes with these additions with NOEXTRACOSTS 1. Crabmeat 2. Avocado 3. Onions 4. Pickled cucumbers. XXX After the staff creates your base, your bowl will be passed to the next staff in the assembly line. Then, next staff will add your fish. Please note that the quantities of fish depends on how much size you really want. Ex) Small bowls — 2 scoops of fish, Medium — 3 scoops, and large — 5 scoops etc. Each scoop looks a little over half ounce, you can mix or match your fish. In the last step, your bowl will be passed to another staff who mixes your fish with the sauce of your choice from non spicy to spicy. The final step is topping off your poke creation with seaweed, sesame, wasabi, smelt eggs and ginger etc. Good thing is that these aren’t get charged additionally. Yay for that… My thoughts about each items — 1. Toppings such as seaweed, wasabi, smelt eggs and ginger — even though sauce was bit salty for my taste, can’t go wrong with these toppings for your own version of poke bowls because they are there to enhance the flavors of poke yet Wasabi gives you a nice spicy kick after the one bite. If you prefer your poke to be spicy, ask them for extra wasabi. Trust me, wasabi is indeed makes foods more spicy. For those who don’t know what wasabi — It’s basically Japanese green horseradish that pairs well with sushi, sashimi and chirashi sushi bowls. This can definitely easily be fixed by request. 4STARS. 2. Scallops — Hands down. Worst item ever in the selection of the sliced fish toppings because scallop itself was tasting fishy and smells remind me bit of stinky Ammonia from some kinds of chemicals. Last time I had those back in last summerlike 90 degree weather in February, great thing is that I didnt get a food poisoning hrs later on while my friend Justin got worst poisoning 3 hrs after he finished his poke bowls. Avoid Scallops at all costs not just for those who are Squamish about eating raw scallops. Truth to be told, Scallops in decent poke shops are not High quality sashimi levels being served in places like Urasawa I’m Beverly Hills and Sushi Gen in Little Tokyo. Big FAIL minus 2 stars for that. 3. Salmons, Tunas, Imitation crabs, avocados etc — Not the best quality, but I can say is that it’s passable unlike scallops. Xxx Salmons and Tunas are generally safe to be eaten raw unlike other types of fish. Xxx 3.5 Stars sorta. Meal itself was rather filling, but the medium size left me not completely satisfied afterwards. For those who wants the full experience, I would suggest adding a drink to your order or ordering a bigger bowl instead of medium size. Overall experience of Pokininetry was unique w/inexpensive price tag covering up for the minor flaws. If you can overlook the tiny space and inconvenient parking, this would become a decent spot for the poke bowls!!!

I’m so glad they finally built another location. It was a brilliant idea to make a location in Hollywood especially since it’s near a lot of popular places in the great Los Angeles. It’s located conveniently near the Chinese theater and Hollywood walk of fame. I also like this location because of the cute little shopping center it’s located in. There’s a parking structure with plenty of parking but it costs like $ 15 for a whole day… Pretty worth it to me. I came here for poki because I was hungry and waiting for Fifth Harmony’s 7⁄27CD signing, I’m obsessed with them! It was a great choice and I just feel so happy that I got to eat some pokinometry. I live in riverside so I always had to drive to Anaheim for pokinometry so I’m just glad there’s more spots especially since La is the place to go to eat and shop:) couldn’t have picked a better location, I’ll definitely be back!

Just like all the other reviewers said, it’s a Chipotle for poke. We came straight here from Las Vegas and as we had the location on our google maps, we realized it was located in the middle of Hollywood/Highland right next to the Chinese theater. Yes, it is hard to find if you’ve never been before and it’s in a major tourist area, but since we were tourists we went! We had to park valet and walked to the 3rd floor food court area. When we arrived I was a little surprised to see it was literally a counter where you grab a tray, order your food and eat outside, it was a little chilly outside for Socal weather so we tried to sit where there was some sun shining. There were about 3 people working the counter and maybe 2 other people ahead of us, when we were up, we told the guy it was our first time, so he went over the ordering/sizing with us. You have a choice of size and white or brown rice, salad or chips. I decided on ½ salad and ½ chips. I was expecting taro chips but was served tortilla chips, not sure if they normally serve taro chips(I thought I’ve seen taro chips from a previous Unilocal review) either way it was still pretty good. As you move down the line, you choose your fish, dressing, and toppings and pay at the end of the line with the cashier. Here you can also add miso soup and order your drinks. The bowl was filled to the top so it was a little difficult to mix my pokenometry creation, and I ended up accidentally eating my entire glop of wasabi, so make sure you mix this in thoroughly! As a tourist, I will definitely try to make this a stop when visiting the Hollywood/Highland area, we need more Pokinometry places like this!

This place is so affordable. Leo and I ordered the large salads with 5 seafood options. All of it was fresh, healthy portions and lots of flavor. Hard to imagine having quality sashimi, or marinated poki for under $ 10.00 Both of us left happy and full. If in the area we will stop here again for sure.

This place is bomb. It sets the standard of poke in LA even tho it is a chipotle styled restaurant. Parking: Park in the Hollywood& Highland parking structure. If you are heading to a restaurant/shop, it’s 2 dollars for the first two hours. If you are going to the cinema, it’s 2 dollars for the first four hours. Even though PokiNometey doesn’t validate your parking, feel free to walk into a shop and ask for validation. We went to the SWEET(the candy shop) to validate our parking this time. SWEET has many cute stuffs, and it is nice stop after your journey at PokiNometry lol. Where is this place? This place is on the 3rd floor of the shopping mall. Next to the GNC and the Johnny Rocket Burger. Food: Really delicious. My friend and I got a brown rice based large bowl, and we were able to choose 5 scoops of meat. I think a large bowl is big enough for two people. We included yellow tail, octopus, salmon, scallops and tuna. The sauces we chose were medium spicy and spicy mayo. After all of these, we added Masago(fish eggs) and green onions on the top. The fish were really fresh and with the sauce I felt like I was in heaven. It’s definitely a busy area because of Hollywood. You get the chance to see tons of visitors and cosplayers. We saw iron man on the street hahaha. Highly recommend place. Worth the parking fee($ 2) because the large bowl was only around $ 12 dollars including tax.

I’ve had my eye on this place for a while ever since moving to the area. The only thing is I dreaded having to find where it was in the Hollywood/Highland Center. I knew it was there somewhere, but where? Well, I finally decided I’ve procrastinated enough and ventured to find this little eatery so I can get my raw fish craving satisfied. Came here to meet up with some friends and I was right, it took a little bit trying to find the place but I came upon it on the second floor tucked away in the back towards the area near Cold Stone. I originally thought it was a sit down place but it’s only take out and you either go home with your goods or you sit and dine on the outdoor seating provided in this area. It’s basically the same as other poke places where you pick the size of your bowl in which case I went with large which gave me 5 scoops of poke, that’s right, FIVE!!! Woohoo! You get your base which is a choice of white or brown rice, chips or lettuce. Brown it was for me, then you can have avocados and imitation crab as well slathered on top. You then get to pick your protein and I had the 2 scoops of yellow tail, 1 scoop of albacore and 2 scoops of tuna. You’d think it was a lot of fish but they’re really smaller sized scoops, not ice cream size scoops. That would have been ridiculous. Then you throw you toppings on which I went with everything, green onions, Masago(fish roe} and I forget what else but they piled it on good. Then you get your choice of sauce and level of spiciness. Throw on some furikake(bonita flakes, seaweed, sesame seeds mix), ginger and wasabi and voila, you have your bowl. The guys serving were all really cool and friendly. The large is $ 12 but it is so worth it, believe me! This is obviously my new go to place for poke since it’s the closest to me being only two train stations away. I’ve already been back two more times and have enjoyed it every single time. If you’re in the area, give it a try because you’d enjoy it too. Trust me, you’ll thank me.

How this place has 4.5 stars is beyond me. I had to see what was up with this place based on rating alone. At first glance, this place is set up exactly like Chipotle. Every ingredient is out in the front ready to be scooped to your heart’s desire. The medium is a pretty good deal considering you get 3 choices of main ingredients. I got the tuna, yellowtail, and albacore, with everything on it(except the spicy mayo sauces). The end product isn’t bad. In fact, it’s quite good. The fish tasted fresh, and that’s all that should really matter when it comes to poke. That being said, I inherently have a problem when you make a fast-food version of poke. Would you feel good eating cheap to-go sushi/sashimi? But therein lies the appeal of PokiNometry. Much like how many people like(or used to like) Chipotle, the same appeal can be found at this joint. Affordable and fast, since top quality poke can cost you well over $ 10. A medium at PokiNometry is $ 9. So if you LOVE establishments like Chipotle, then you’ll love this place. But just know that there’s way better poke out there. The location is horrible, as it is right at the heart of the walk of fame/TCL theater. Good luck finding parking here, as all the meters are usually taken throughout the day. Some street parking is available about a block away. It’s located on the third floor, right at the front of the shopping mall, and has outdoor seating.

Stopped by for some poki at one of the best places in LA! It’s super fresh and you choose how you want it… you can choose from white/brown rice/chips/salad and toppings of crab meat and choice of tuna/albacore/salmon/shrimp/salmon/octopus and all are super fresh! It’s on second floor in building next to TCL theatre…

Busted a mission just to find this place. My boyfriend and I first visited Pokinometry in January near Anaheim; a friend recommended it to us and since we weren’t too far, in the pouring rain we were lucky enough to find parking and run inside. It was instant attraction. Fast forward to today. When I looked up Pokinometry on the GPS I thought that it was oddly close by, not realizing until much later that this was a secondary location. We drove through what felt like the Las Vegas Strip and had an incredibly hard time finding parking, especially since the $ 10PARKING garages were low-key actually valet services. The signs are misleading as the«valet service» was in tiny print at the bottom of their sign. We ended up exiting the valet and found a parking garage where you pay $ 1/15min. Not too bad. The parking was annoying to get to because of the drive up, and up, and up. That took a good amount of our time. From there we made our way through all the tourists and locals and made it to the third floor where Ta-daaaa! Pokinometry was just ahead. I was super surprised to see that there was only room for 1 person to walk forward, or 2 people to walk back to back. I ordered my food, and away we went, to eat in the outside patio called«The Deck». I sat in the booths there with my friend and my boyfriend, enjoying the perfect weather and perfect food. One of my absolute favorites!

Be prepared to queue at this venue and during the heat of late summer bring lots of cold beverage and a hat. Locals tell me that if you go before 12 the queue is less. Lies! Lol Food is fresh and you choose from the small, medium and large bowls. Prices are very reasonable for a Londoner visiting. I got the medium bowl with 5 choices of fresh fish to choose from and salad and sauces. It’s like a giant pick and mix place! It’s was also my first experience of it as I have been told that this is the new and up and coming thing. So glad I tried it! I am waiting for something similar to it to come to this side of the pond. As honestly I am missing it back home.

Came here with Kym and Antho on a Friday night. You should avoid Hollywood and Highland all together and not because of this center. It’s when there is a concert going on at the Hollywood Bowl, traffic is at it’s worst. After I made it here, it was still a miserable task trying to find this place. It’s hidden on the otherside of the movie theatre. So if you’re at the escalators where you come up from the parking structure, go all the way around the theatre entrance to the other side. I’ve been to the original location in Santa Ana which is a much larger location. This one just has that usual poke place feeling since there has been so many opening up everywhere. What sets this one apart is the great customer service behind the counter. If you didn’t get the same stellar service we got, you came on the wrong night. The fish I selected was fresh and what I wanted to eat. If you cannot decide, the guy behind the counter would help with suggestions and what you can put on it and add to it. With your check-in, you do get something. Did you check-in? What did you get? I got a free drink but it wasn’t for my check-in. It was standing behind these two with so many special requests. It was like sitting in traffic trying to get here. I’m kidding but that is what I got the free drink for because I was nice enough to take the bowl that was already scooped instead of it getting tossed out. They don’t validate for parking so you’ll need to go to Guest Services downstairs.

Fast casual poke bowl restaurants can be a hit or miss because you often have to pick between freshness and portion size of fish. With PokiNometry, I love that you get both, and the customizability is great. I got a large poke bowl for the best value, which comes with 5 scoops of fish. I chose half brown rice & half salad, medium spicy with 1 spicy tuna, 3 salmon, and 1 yellowtail, plus all the fixings. SOSO fresh and filling! I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area!

This place is decent. It’s located in the Highland Center, so beware of the huge amount of tourists! It’s a small restaurant that consists of you choosing what you want(sort of the Subway of poke). The workers were nice, but it was difficult to hear them with the loud music. I got the large, half and half(chips and rice), with 5 scoops of fish(spicy tuna, tuna, albacore, yellow fish, and salmon)($ 10.75). On top of that, you get to choose toppings of your choice, such as sesame seed, seaweed, ginger, etc. The rice was colder than expected, so I think if I did come back here, I would only get chips. I’m glad that this place is not skimpy with the amount of fish! I was so full at the end of the meal. The sitting area is just outside on the deck, in which you will have a nice view with the«Roosevelt Hotel» sign with traffic noises. If you are in the area, come check out this poke place! I don’t think it’s the best poke bowl I have ever eaten, but it’s better than the restaurants at the Highland Center!

FOOD: 4⁄5 1. Choose your size(small, medium, large): I got a medium but I really should have went with a small. The portions are pretty big. 2. Choose your base(white rice, brown rice, salad, chips, wrap, or half and half): I chose half white rice and half brown rice. 3. Choose your first layer(crabmeat, avocado, cucumbers, white onions, or everything): I chose everything. 4. Choose your meat(spicy tuna, tuna, salmon, yellow tail, albacore, shrimp, octopus, scallops). Small: 2, medium: 3, large: 5. I chose spicy tuna, yellow tail, and shrimp. 5. Choose your sauce: nometry sauce(pick spiciness level), spicy mayo, or spicy miso. I got medium nometry sauce and spicy mayo. 6. Choose your toppings(masago, green onions, ginger, wasabi, sesame seeds, or seaweed): I chose everything except green onions and ginger and only a tiny bit of wasabi. SERVICE They work in an assembly line. The young men that started my bowl were both friendly and patient. When I got to the sauce section, the young lady asked me what level of spiciness I would like, I automatically stated medium without thinking. I told her I wanted the spicy mayo sauce but she said she had already mixed the nometry sauce, which was fine. I asked her if she could just add the spicy mayo. She replied with, «I already mixed your bowl.» She was the one who assumed I wanted the nometry sauce, yet she gave me attitude. She gave me the spicy mayo sauce in a container. Nbd, but she basically tossed it on the tray. I wasn’t happy with her demeanor. Then she gave me way too much wasabi when I specifically asked for a tiny bit. Every other bite I took made my nose burn and my eyes teared. My bowl would have been really good but it was painful more than anything. 2⁄5 FINALTHOUGHTS I would come back. Next time, no wasabi.

Pokinometry is located in the Hollywood & Highlands. It’s a small walk through where you grab your food, pay, then take it outside to eat. This area kind of reminds me of a food court with variety of food to choose from. The menu is very simple. You pick your size(small, medium or large) then pick your base, type of fish and sauce. What I liked about Pokinometry is that they offered a more variety of base. Most poki places only offer white or brown rice. Here, they offer you also salad and chips. I ordered the medium with half chips and half salad. The size medium comes with 3 fishes, avocado, and crab meat. Everything tasted fresh and had a lot of flavor. The only downside was that they didn’t offer validation. Parking came out to be $ 4. I would definitely return when I’m in the area.
