I found Steve of Platina Designs by chance a dozen years ago. I don’t know how I picked his booth out of the hundreds just like it, but I’m super lucky I did. He was infinitely patient with me designing some jewelry from scratch, and note that I am very demanding and critical of craftsmanship and esthetics. His work is top-​notch and his prices are more than fair. Since then he has taken care of many different chores including cleaning an impossibly delicate 110-​year-​old diamond ring and restoring it to new, helping me pick stones, repairing bracelets, helping me get a good price on some jewelry to sell, and advising me on materials. He is a wealth of knowledge in all areas of jewelry. And he is exceedingly honest in both his work and his advice. I am truly grateful for his year of amazing service to me and my family. I have been going to platina for over 15yeras now. Whenever I need to do something with my jewelry, I would come here. wether to purchase new piece or re-​design my old piece. I have friends ask me to go to jewelry mart all the time and depending what they want to buy, i take them to different places. If they want something small and cheaper things, I would take them to who has just lot of that but when anyone wants to buy herself some nice quality, pretty design pieces, Platina is exactly where I would take her to. I trust his quality of jewelry and we always find something nice we like here. His prices are bit higher than the ones carry small, cheaper things, but it is totally worth every single penny when you decide to spend little more for a higher quality piece for yourself.

I was a little confused finding it, because it is just a little section of a huge room, set up almost like a swap meet… just prettier.
Steve the owner was there and was very informative and knowledgeable.
Also Kevin who is upstairs doing the jewelry does amazing work and fixed my ring for me, better than originally.

Steve is absolutely the best jeweler ever! You can tell right away he knows exactly what’s he’s doing and designs to perfection. It’s so hard finding an honest jeweler, but Steve does not lack that characteristic. He works a great deal according to your budget! I got my engagement and wedding ring from him. I am a big fan of Steve Park/​Platina Design. He has great taste and he gives good deals. He has an eye for design and he is very detail oriented. Like others have said, he is a straight shooter, tells it like it is. I bought my diamond from him and did the setting with him a year later. He works hard to deliver to his clients and he is honest. My husband has bought pieces from Steve for me for some years now. Every piece is beautiful and I have not had any problems with anything breaking or stones falling off. I’d like to recommend Steve. In fact, I already did so once, before the engagement ring I bought from him fell apart less than a year after I bought it. The platinum band broke in two places (the welding turned out to have been done horribly, with contamination in the weld so it was very weak). He agreed to fix it, and ended up replacing the entire setting, but the new setting is, again, terrible, only this time it is visibly shoddy. Prongs of different lengths, arranged crookedly around the stone, bleh. I’ll have to take it to a proper jeweler to fix it up.

Platina Design is by far the best place to get your engagement and wedding rings in the LA area. Steve is a straight shooter with exceptional talent at designing and crafting custom jewelry. He also has a great stock of rings that are ready to go off the shelf. My fiancé and i went in there with an idea of what she wanted for an engagement ring and Steve was able to materialize them flawlessly and at a great price. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for jewelry now that i’ve bought from Platina. I’ve already recommended him to a few of my other friends.

I love Platina and I love Steve (the owner)! I got my wedding band from there, its an eternity band, round diamonds all around, total carat weight of about 2. The clarity is VS1 and VS2, color is almost colorless. I got it for $ 2000! The same ring goes for $ 3000 on blue nile. I was referred to Platina through family who have been going to him for years. I referred a couple of people there and they loved him too and referred more. I think about 10 people have gone to him now because of me. (I should ask for a hook up!). What I like about Platina is that Steve has great taste, he can custom make things for you too, and the best part is that he is really honest and is not trying to make you spend money. He doesnt try and push you to spend more. My husbands best friend bought his wifes engagement ring there. Steve called him a couple minutes after he left and said that he overpaid $ 100. My husbands best friend told Steve to keep the money because he gave him such a great deal anyways. But Steve insisted that he come back and get the $ 100. Hes just an honest guy who gives great service and makes great jewelry. Im not buying any jewelry from now on unless its from Platina. The other people who have gone to him agree that his jewelry is much cheaper than Blue Nile, which is considered to be a great deal.
