Who cares if you’re not vegan. These tacos a ridiculously good. My sceptical hubby is a meat lover and we tried them Friday night. Amazing! They were so delicious and my husband wants to go back to try the rest of the menu. It was delicious and they were a good size. Filling and leaves you stuffed. I gotta try the tortas. I just hate that they take so long to make the food. And one heavy set guy was packing someone’s torta with his fingers and no gloves… um, glad that wasn’t mine. I just wished they would post more often. Oh and we got 3 extra tacos for freeeee. Their bad! Haha

The carnitas are amazing best thing ever!!! What a treat and surprise. My husband being a carnivore was surprised on how well the jackfruit mimics pork. The texture will fool anyone.

Pleeeeease try this place if you haven’t. Especially if you aren’t vegan. You need to try this meat alternative. The owners are the nicest people ever. They have amazing taste in food. I’ve been vegan 14 years and this is the best vegan food I’ve found ever. The tacos are delicious, the nachos are amazing. I hope this business expands more and more!

Drove across town to check out the tacos and was not disappointed. We got a #1& #4, and I went back for seconds. The server was nice and friendly, and the tacos were served very quickly. Nice touch for vegan tacos.

These tacos are amazing! Really quite shocking that it’s not meat. The texture is out of this world and the flavor… Just try it. It’s great and it’ll satisfy your belly. Highly recommended.

best vegan tacos of my life! the chipotle mayo with the coleslaw and jackfruit combination rivals most of the non-vegan tacos I had eating in previous years. I will really really miss this taco and will have to dream about it since we are moving to the east coast in a few weeks!

THEBESTJACKFRUITSTREETTACOSEVER. I feel like I can confidently say this at this point. Being vegan, I’m always looking for awesome jackfruit street tacos — but there was always something missing in them for me. Plant Food for People? Perfect. I seriously can eat these all day and would be so happy. In fact, we have to drive from Knott’s Berry Farm area to LA to get these. And I have happily done so! Pricing? So so affordable. $ 3 a taco. I’ve seen places charge like $ 6 for a subpar jackfruit taco. PFFP uses organic yellow corn tortillas which are super tasty. Then their jackfruit is just insanely good. I’ve given them to friends and family who aren’t vegan and they LOVE them. They really take me back to eating street tacos before I was vegan and I don’t know how they do it! They also serve tortas, and I’ve seen them serve quesadillas at SoCal VegFest! So it seems that they always add things here and there, which is amazing! I can’t get enough of these tacos and look forward to finding this food truck again. They go to Farmer’s Markets a lot in LA, and participate in a wide range of vegan events — so find them and eat some jackfruit tacos! You won’t regret it. I usually find out where they’re going through their website or Instagram page.

After looking for this truck for years, I finally stumbled across them at Mar Vista’s Farmer’s Market! They did not disappoint. My friend and I tried their«pulled pork» tacos and torta with everything. Super tasty and filling. It is difficult to find places that use jackfruit and not only do they have it but they do it right!

I had this truck bookmarked, but forgot about that when I actually saw it on a Saturday morning. I happened to be out and on that side of the street, so I wandered over and was intrigued by the concept of the vegan street tacos. I had already eaten breakfast so I ordered just one super taco, which normally comes with all of their toppings(pico de gallo, coleslaw, chipotle mayo, tomatillo salsa, and new mexico chile), carnitas-style marinated jackfruit, and beans on an organic corn tortilla. They were out of beans but I think made up for it in jackfruit. The taco is $ 4, obviously pricier than normal street tacos, but it’s really good and since vegan tacos aren’t around every corner, the price is reasonable. This taco could definitely stand its ground against a meat one; the texture of the jackfruit is remarkably similar to the carnitas it imitates and the flavor is on point. The New Mexico chile, however, isn’t as spicy as their sign would lead you to believe. There was some heat on this taco but it was mild to moderate. I could probably do without the tomato that came with the coleslaw, but I did like the cabbage. My only regret is not ordering more or not ordering the torta. I’m really excited about this truck! The food is super tasty.

I could eat jackfruit all day err day! Especially when they’re made into tacos! I’ve had Plant Food For People in my bookmarks for a long time now so I was pretty stoked when I spotted them at the 2nd Annual Healthy Junk Vegan Faire in Anaheim. The line was long so I had a while to decide. I settled on getting a Marinated Jackfruit Taco which comes with two signature toppings. I also got the Super Crazy Taco which is basically the same thing but with slow cooked beans and ALL of the signature toppings. FYI, these are the signature toppings: I enjoyed these very much but I was kinda disappointed by the serving size. Especially since one taco was $ 3 and the other was $ 4. When I picked up my order, I instantly knew I would still be hungry after I chowed down. But since they’re so good, I’m still a fan :)
When I bit into my first PFFP taco, I had a lot of questions. «Is this how other people feel about meaty taco trucks?» I wondered. «Do I finally understand what love is? Am I in heaven?» I’ve been hearing about Plant Food For People for years, but was never able to make it up to Highland Park or any of the events. Recently they’ve become mobile, and I was so thrilled to see they were coming to my neighborhood! I hightailed it over to the«On the Lot» food truck event, and got myself two beautiful jackfruit tacos topped with chipotle mayo and tomatillo salsa. They were so full of flavor and had the perfect texture. I loved them! I had to stop myself from turning around and ordering the rest of the menu. «You’ll be back, Shannon,» I told myself. «You’ll be back.» Jackfruit is such a magical ingredient, and tacos are the best, so thank you PFFP for treating both with the utmost care, turning out amazing vegan food for the masses.

Oh my goodness. Jack fruit goodness! I love plant food for people. They have some really amazing tacos. A bit pricey, but that’s about the average rate for tasty vegan food. Especially since so much love is crafted into these bad boys. I have ordered the torta, which was so freaking tasty. My favorite topping is the chipotle mayo! It’s really adds a creamy kick to your meal. The tacos are kinda small and I ate 3 the last time I came. The employees are very nice and I have never had a issue with my food. Another plus is that I usually almost never have a long time waiting for my food :)

I had to break radio silence in order to do right by two of my most favorite businesses alive to date.(Also read Mumford Brewing) The following claims are solely mine and do not reflect the views of simpletons with no taste, nor die hard meat-heads that think veganism and plant based diets are a joke. And now, the review. I’ve come to realize that I am as much a creature of habit as the next guy. Case in point, my addiction to PFFP’s jack fruit menu. I’m pretty sure that by now, I’ve had a little of everything they currently offer. I do find myself at times, day dreaming about the tacos and tortas, when I’m working deep in Orange County and begin the process of convincing myself that a drive into Highland Park during painfully ridiculous rush hour traffic is a reasonable option. No lie, I do it about once a week currently, and when they introduced, neigh, launched the Jackfruit Torta, well, I don’t recall being more creative in my navigation skills and velocity. I’ll speed this review up as well. TRYTHEMALL! EVERYONE! I’ve not been disappointed with any of the toppings nor variations from their menu. The service is always top notch, perfect during drinking sessions on York or wherever you find ‘em, prices are unfuckwithable and the folks working their little butts off inside the kitchen are some of the coolest in the biz. I’m a bit partial of course, because plant based options made by artisans, obscenely deliciously, will always be exactly the sort of business I Must Support. You should also. Follow them immediately @plantfoodforpeople CV–(no, I’m not back)

Best tacos in town. Oh, and they are made with jackfruit. Not meat. No dairy either. Nice people, amazing food! These tacos are so good fresh. The corn tortillas are organic and soft. So soft. I go whenever they are at the vegan bingo nights in HP. I go for the chipotle mayo and pico toppings myself, but I keep it fresh and try new things, also. They also have amazing tortas. When there is mole, you are lucky, because it is the best I’ve had. The New Mexico hot chile sauce is no joke. I usually get it with the cole slaw.

Hands down the best tacos I have EVER eaten. My friend and I shared 4 tacos, which are made with a jackfruit filling, with a variety of toppings. The Mexico salsa and chipotle mayo were outstanding. The tortillas are made fresh, and you can definitely tell the difference. The jackfruit is done so well-marinated and seasoned perfectly for a very realistic meaty texture. They accept all major credit cards, and you can track their location on Twitter. I found them easily outside Johnny’s bar in Highland Park.

These are my favorite tacos run by the most hardworking and sweetest family. Not only are these tacos health but they are made from real jack-fruit… none of that gluten filler stuff! This is the real deal. The folks that run Plant Food take such special care of every taco they make, they remember customer names and are such an imperative part of this community. They one of the reasons why I love Highland Park so much :) They also do special events; they are big supporters of the Secret Songs events at MorYork Gallery and they also do private events like weddings as well. They are usually out on 50th and York during the Highland Park Artwalk but follow them on twitter for their where abouts. I’m thrilled to have them here and I will continue to enjoy gastronomic bliss over JackFruit Vegan Taco. Bön Appetit… winning the hearts of food lovers one tummy at a time!
