I wish I could find your truck again. Come back to 26th and Penn in Santa Monica. Your calendar indicates that it will be there on certain days but I haven’t seen it there in weeks. Come back, come back… I want more hummus…

This truck serves very typical Middle Eastern food. I love that type of food. When I sample food from these Gourmet Food Trucks, I anticipate that there should be a Wow factor that would separate them from regular Middle Eastern Food. Home made Hummus, Tahinni and Bechmel would be a nice touch.

First off, the guy taking orders had zero personality. I mean none. I ordered the greek salad w/chicken shwarma. Completely unremarkable. The meat was fairly bland, as well as a bit on the dry side, seemed overcooked. The salad as a whole wasn’t really seasoned that well either. It wasn’t a bad experience, but don’t think I’ll go here again. Just overall unimpressive.

Came to this option b/c we’re in Lent season and I’m sooo tired of fish on fridays. Had the Falafel wrap w/fries and loved it. It was huge and I felt like a piglet. It was just spicy enough and the falafel was crunchy but not dry at all. Good warm pita to wrap it up, it was still good to eat 20 minutes after my walk from the truck back to work. Definitely hit this up as an option again. Pretty reasonable, especially considering food truck prices in general. I hope they come to my jobsite again!

@Pitapusher You have to wonder about a truck that gets reviews at opposite ends of the spectrum. Still, I’ve eaten from trucks that get universally bad reviews and liked them and vice versa. I tried Pita Pusher with an open mind and I wasn’t disappointed. Their food is good, the service is good and I found this to be good middle eastern food. Having said that I must point out that this is a crowded field. There are a lot of trucks that serve good middle eastern food. So while this one doesn’t stand out in my mind as exciting and innovative, I have absolutely no problem recommending them for a quick meal. 3 stars is a good rating and where I’m not going to say this is the best thing I’ve ever had, I will say that I will eat here again. Isn’t that the best thing you could say about any eating establishment?

Food was mediocre at best, got the Chicken Schwarma Salad and the meat was pretty low quality, really dark and fatty. Never expect much from food trucks, but please don’t serve me horsemeat. Be careful when using a card and they use the swiper connected to the iPhone. Not only did they overcharge me, but they also charged me twice and it took me 25 minutes to reverse with my bank. Wouldnt be a huge deal if the food was at least decent, but definitely wasn’t worth it.

I was pretty impressed with this truck! I don’t hit up the food trucks that much because usually you pay a decent amount and don’t get full. Not the case with the Pita Pusher Truck! I got a Falafel wrap and some fries. I am totally full! The wrap was big with a little spiciness to it and the fries were good — not too oily! This is one of the few trucks that I’ll be checking out again!

I was on my lunch break, walking around with my coworker when we happened upon this truck and decided to go for it. We both order chicken shwaremas(however you spell that), but the guy informs us that the card machine is broken and can only take cash. My coworker ordered hers, but I didn’t since I only had card. Then the best thing ever happens: the guy offers to just give me mine free of charge! Sweetest guy ever, totally made my day. And the chicken shwarema wrap was really good! It had jalapenos in it, I think, which gave it a spicy kick. The pita bread was warm, and there was some sort of sauce in there that made it flavorful and juicy. Thanks, food truck guy! :)

Came out from Tim Burton’s exhibit at LACMA and saw all the food trucks lined up across the street. Made a run for my friend’s car to get my money and proceeded to march up and down the sidewalk in search of the best food the lunch truck fare had to offer. Stopped in front of a blue truck titled«Pita Pusher» and decided to take a walk on the wild side and get a falafel wrap. 16 quarters, 21 dimes, 8 nickels, and 5 minutes later(that’s $ 6.50 just in case you only deal in Euros, pesos, yen, etc.) the man handed me a huge burrito shaped falafel wrap covered in aluminum foil and sent me on my way. The first bite was oh-so-delicious. The falafel was crunchy yet light, not oily or heavy and had a great mixture of warm spices. The pita was nothing special, which was surprising, as the name of the truck seemed to indicate otherwise. However, the falafel was definitely the star and I’d love to come back for this middle eastern cuisine anytime. Sadly, the trip to LACMA is a lengthy one from my home with plenty of traffic to boot. Hopefully there will come a day where food trucks will be making their pit stops in the great OC.

Our truck traded with their truck, and I tried the chicken wrap and the falafel wrap. They were both delicious and had a great sauce. I would have preferred the falafel to be a bit more moist, but still, the Pita Pusher made a fan out of me.

Great food from a truck; I had the falafel wrap($ 6.50) for lunch and was very happy. The guy taking orders was very friendly and gave me a free side of hummus.

Amazing food and great people. Another food truck canceled less than a day before my birthday celebration hosting 50 people to dinner. Luckily, I found Pita Pusher. Beyond saving the day, their food was incredible. All of my friend’s raved about what they had. Thank you!

The name should be changed from Pita Pusher to PATHETICPITA. I saw Pita Pusher was at a food truck gathering near LAX. I noticed they had a good choice of food and it seemed somewhat healthy and reasonable. I decided to join the line,. I was the third person in line and I should have known better. I noticed about four people standing on the side and waiting for their food. It took me fifteen minutes to get to the front of the line and these people were still waiting for their food. I saw there was a cashier and three other employees inside the truck, What was taking so long? Stupid me ordered a chicken shawarma and some hummus. I was told it would take twelve minutes. Thirty minutes later I received my food. I noticed, while I was waiting for my food, other people received fried food quicker. One person in particular received his fries right after ordering them. He complained immediately because they were stone cold, nice! Good thing he asked for his money back. I finally had my food. The chicken shawarma was cold and it was quite bland. The chicken was also very dry. The hummus was good on top but the bottom of the hummus was also bland. Thirty minutes for bland and cold food, they must be killing the chicken and picking the chickpeas when you order. Do Not go here the service is bad as well as the food, damn PATHETICPITA.

Last time I was at the Pita Pusher, I got into a nice chat with Savon, who told me, next time I see him he wanted me to try the falafel balls. Today I was on Wilshire and reopened to park next to his truck. My plan was to stop at a different truck and write review #140.(Sorry Krazy BBQ – I owe ya one). I said hello to Savon as I passed the Pita Pusher, and he got out of the truck to catch up with me and remind me he wanted me to try the falafel balls. What could I say? One of the few things better than food from a 5-star truck is free food from a 5-star truck, so I took him up on the offer and enjoyed the falafel sandwich. He also gave me some spiced potatoes that were heavily seasoned with garlic and cilantro and even comped me a Diet Coke. I guess he wanted me to tell the Unilocal world how good they were. well they are awesome. The falafel balls come wrapped in a large pita with tahini sauce lettuce and tomato. He also made it spicy at my request with a red hot sauce. As Savon was preparing the food, he thanked me, and even knew I was the FTR. I joked with him that he had already had 5 stars from me, and the only possible change was downward. He told me he was confident that wasn’t going to happen. And he was right. Another 5 star meal from the Pita Pusher. Gourmet Food Truck #120 on my never-ending quest to try every truck in So Cal”

Ordered a chicken shawarma which was ok and was really nothing to rave about. So between ordering and getting my food it took them a total of 30 mins. Which gave me very less time to get back to work and enjoy it. This truck should take into consideration that most people only have 1 hr lunch breaks and should be more organized to get their food out quicker.

The falafel here is nom worthy. It’s of chickpea deliciousness. I’m use to flavored hummus so I thought Pita Pusher was kinda plain but still good. I love the crunchy pita chips(so good) but you do run out quickly. I was only left with my index finger as a substitute :(

Yo mang, You holding? Nah, I gots to get me to my pusher to get me a fix of that falafel funk, yo. I imagine in an alternate universe somewhere Greek cuisine is on every corner like a poorly painted McDonalds. People know the difference between a loofa and a falafel and the world is living as one. But no, we’re in this reality where to get your fix you need to go to Pita Pusher. Though the first one isn’t free. Where did they get their«get someone addicted to your food» degree? How can you not become suddenly addicted to these Falafel plates? It’s pretty cheap and you get five pieces and a side of Hummus and tabbouleh salad. What a bargain! No haggling involved either. You can also get them in a sandwich, but I was feeling like free falafeling it on this day and wanted more balls for my money. Yeah, I just typed that… But these falafels are pretty damn good. I can’t say anything about the chicken shawarrma, it was a toss up between that and the falafel and, well, you know which one won. Next time though. And there will be a next time. This fairly new truck really had it on all accounts. The service was pretty spot on, the price point is light on the wallet while also packing a great tasting punch. Over all, a great addition to my food truck addiction. I guess it is a successful pusher then.
