Pi Mashawi Food Truck

I usually dont do negative reviews but this one had to be posted…
I was hungry and on a short schedule and didn’t want to take an hour lunch. so I decided to walk up to Hollywood blvd from my work (1oo yards) and get an over priced piece of pizza to hold me over. I walked out of our front entrance and there was the «food» truck parked across the street from us. I was actually excited as I was thinking that a food truck usually means quick service… boy was I in for a huge let down.
To start. no menu was posted. and I was handed a small card like menu with very small print.
Next, the menu combos listed fries coming with a sandwich but then says 2bux extra somewhere else… I order the chicken shawarma wrap and fries and it cost me $ 10!!!
and that is with no beverage.
OK so now I am beginning to be a little uneasy but I was quickly losing time. I pay and wait. and wait… and wait for almost 20 minutes… I was about to demand my money back and go get that now very appealing slice of pizza when the guy brought out my food.
I quickly headed back to work and sat down to quickly eat my food…
Boy was I even more disturbed by now… My fries were a very meager serving and luke warm… and my wrap had dry tasteless chicken on a stiff bland pita with poorly made garlic sauce… nothing else in it (I ordered no pickles) …to say this is the best Mediterranean food in Los Angeles is a joke…
Go To EL Wazir at Gower and Hollywood if you want REAL Mediterranean food. I have been getting their Chicken shawarma sandwich for 9 years for $ 5. 35 and it has ALWAYS been great!!! And their falafel is to die for!!! Not like this crap I choked down today… Maybe the sit down place has much better food but this truck was a 100% ripoff!!!

Amazing!!! I arrived too early and had to wait an hour for my chicken shawarma wrap, but it was worth every second! I’ve been searching for some chicken shawarma that I would fall in love with since I moved to LA, and I definitely found it here. Just the right combination of flavors, perfect size, expected price, perfect everything. Totally made my day. Thank you so much!

This is my first time eating from mashewi truck. The best sandwich, fresh and the service was better than any restaurent. For sure I will try it again

I discovered this jewel on Westwood Blvd. last week. I ordered a chicken shawarma to go for my daughter and I to share. It was delicious! Pita bread sandwich stuffed with tasty, marinated chicken with pickles, tomatoes and tahini sauce. Both of us were in heaven. There are not many restaurants in Westwood who deliver great-​tasting food. Since that first visit, I’ve been there 5 times for the same chicken shawarma. Sadly I reside in OC so I will be dreaming of your food until we meet again.

Our USC center frequently orders from Pi Mashawi (related to the restaurant Pi on Sunset) for our small to large events. Food is always fresh and absolutely delicious! Pi is one of the best sources of Mediterranean food you can get in Los Angeles. I’ve come across them catering at events all over LA and know that UCLA is also one of their constant clients. They’re an easy choice if you’re catering for a mixed crowd that ranges from meat loving to vegetarian and we’ve never had an item off their menu that wasn’t fantastic. Our programs cater to very diverse crowds with very diverse palates and their food is always a big hit, which again makes them an easy choice for our events. They also provide halal meat options if needed — just need to ask.

Chicken and Beef Mashawi
Rice Pilaf
Falafel
Dolmas/​warak el enab (vegetarian stuffed grape leaves)
Cheese pastry pies (don’t know their real name)
Fattoush Salad (salad w/​light lemon vinaigrette and seasoned toasted pita slivers)
Baba Ghanoush
Hummus
Tahini sauce
