Pete’s Blue Chip is my nostalgic hangout. My grandfather used to take me here when I was little for an Orange Bang, burger, and fries. That means I’ve been coming here for over 30 years! My grandfather has been gone for a while now, but the good burgers and memories remain. I take all of my close friends here to show them a piece of my childhood. This is my go to place whenever I visit the area. My only complaint is they do not take credit cards. Oh… and don’t use the bathrooms. They are outside and kinda grungy. You have to ask for a key and the key comes attached to a long wood stick. I can only imagine where that multi colored stick has been eww. My advice, hold it and just enjoy the awesome burgers.

Rating based entirely on cheeseburger and fries. Huge portions but not particularly 4 or 5 star delicious. Comparable venue to Tops in Pasadena in what’s available on the menu and overall quality of food.

This is my go-to for fast food that is as good as diner food. The menu is huge, there is a drive-through, the owners and staff are friendly, the food is made to order, and it’s delicious! I love that I can get breakfast at a drive-through. It’s perfect for days that I want a diner-style breakfast, but also don’t feel like being out at a restaurant. The breakfast burritos are huge and delicious. The breakfast sandwiches, omelettes, breakfast potatoes, and pancakes are also good. And there is a steak rancheros plate that I get with eggs over easy. Yum. Lunch and dinner are just as good. The fries are thick and crispy, and come with some Lowry’s seasoning salt. They go so well with the creamy ranch. I also love the cheeseburger, patty melt, pastrami sandwich, steak quesadilla, and fried zucchini. Note that they only take cash.

Just got food poisoning from the bbq roast beef I had yesterday. Also the owner was kinda rude to the workers because the cashier didn’t give me a box to go but let the cook do it instead. Then the owner was being rude towards me staring at me while on the booth.

Pete’s was great! My husband and I went there this morning for breakfast, and it was good! It beats Denny’s, CoCo’s and Penny’s on York. The service was good. This place is clean and the breakfast specials are so worth it. We had 2 breakfast specials with a side of hash browns and it was under $ 11. Great! Will definitely be back.

One hour before closing time, I was the only person in the restaurant and I ordered carne asada fries. 10 minutes later, a family came in. They got their food way before I got mine. 10 minutes after that, still no food. I had to tell the cashier that I still haven’t gotten my food. After notifying them, it literally only took two minutes for our food to come out. I finally got my food 25 min after I placed my order. I’ve been coming here for the last 5 years. So this is pretty disappointing.

I thought that just getting the egg and cheese burrito that I might be getting a reasonable portion. Nope. This thing is huge. And it’s tasty. And I’m sorry that I could only eat half of this monster. Delicious fluffy eggs, melted cheese, mild salsa and some hash brown potatoes rolled up into a burrito shell. It’s awesomesauce. Very small parking lot. You’ll be tempted to take it to go but I wouldn’t recommend eating this burrito while you’re driving the California roads!

Used to be a regular customer here. Went through the drive thru and asked for the ingredients for a vegetarian burrito. Couldn’t hear the guy the first time, asked for him to repeat. The second time, Vince or whatever his name is repeated the ingredients in the most rude and condescending manner. Maybe if you guys got a better intercom this wouldn’t happen. Vince needs to change his sh$tty attitude. I will not be coming here again. Sucks because the food is good here.

I got a large chili cheese fries to go. It was bomb af until I bit into an uncooked fry –_-’ WOW though everyone was nice, chill, and cool. Yet, damn! The uncooked fry ruined my score for this restaurant :\ oh and btw, the restroom is really nasty and foul smelling too! That’s a negativity :(

Would have given a 5 star but the cashier needs to really learn customer service. It’s service with a smile. The rest of the staff are great.

Pete’s is amazing! I have been eating here since 2008 and I have never been disappointed. Luis Miguel gives the best service and accommodates my foodie needs. The cooks are all so consistent with the food and that’s what keeps me coming back. He hooked my man up with a special rice pastrami chilli cheese burrito and he fell in love. My usual Is the philly cheese steak with cheese fries and my fave horchata :)! Love Pete’s!!!

Haven’t been here in almost 2 years. A few months ago they were closed for«renovation» the place looks the same. Nothing was updated and still ONLYCASH. But any who went today and the owner of the place is a rude a** old lady. All she does is sit on one of the booths where she can see all her workers and stares at them. She mistreats her employees and screams at them. When I asked one of the cashiers if she was the owner the cashier looked afraid to even speak to me and was looking at the owner to see if she was looking. The food is ok. I will never come back to this place. Having a grumpy old owner sitting and staring at me everyday. I would quit my job. Unhealthy environment. Tip to owner. Get your a** home and hire and damn manager to handle your employees. And stop putting stress on them.

Pros: okay fries, nifty ambiance. Cons: a limp, dried out burger patty with overly sweet pink sauce. I’m tempted to give it another chance. Maybe they were having an off day. Maybe I was having an off day. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing.

05/18/2008 There are diners and then there is Pete’s. At least they will make a breakfast order on a plate. Even if it’s a breakfast burrito for here. Of course, I missed the group jog around the Rose Bowl loop but I did make sure to show up at the place to eat afterwards. My first stop, everyone else’s second stop. Just another fast food joint for a sit down breakfast. By that, I do mean pay for your food at the counter when you order, wait until they call your number. When they call your number, go get your own plate and sit down again. I ordered the French toast, #3 special on the menu. If you want someone to refill your drink, it better be because you are sitting on the inside and someone is on their way up for their refill too. Otherwise, don’t bother me while I’m eating. Just sayin’… If you don’t want to sit down or wait inside at all, just go through the drive-thru and be on your way.

Note: Drive Thru is Cash Only! Pete’s Blue Chip is my favorite go-to, drive-through breakfast spot around town. French Toast, bacon, eggs and a slice of fruit for $ 4? Come ON — that’s a steal; and their chorizo breakfast burrito, oh man — yum. There’s a dine in option, but I’ve never done it. The drive through staff is absolutely lovely, the milkshakes are great, I’ve heard wonderful stories about their burgers and know for a fact that their orange juice is delish. For an affordable diner style meal that you can eat in the comfort of your own car, Pete’s Blue Chip is a no-brainer for a great idea.

Pete’s is one of the best places to get a burger in Eagle Rock! The burgers are massive! There are tons of options in the menu, all of it very competitively priced and everything that I have tried has been great! A few of my favorite menu items include: The breakfast burrito– great for a hangover! The Blue Chip burger, classic. Tasty. Filling. $ 6 for the burger fries and a drink! I don’t even think you can do that at McDonald’s these days. The Avocado burger(to which I add bacon) even bigger than the blue chip and just as great! The zucchini fries. Oh man! So good. And it’s zucchini so it’s healthy right? They use good ranch too. Doesn’t taste like that yucky bottled ish a lot of places use. It’s a great greasy spoon spot for when you need a lot of flavor and calories! Service is usually awesome too. There have been a few times where someone was rude, but not so rude that I wouldn’t go back. There is a woman who is always there, dark hair and always smiling! She’s great. So sweet and helpful all the time. The drive through takes time but they cook everything to order so it’s worth the wait.
