Pepe’s Thrift Shop

I live in the same building as Pepe’s #2, so you’d think I would be in here all the time, acquiring those things that we all need. They have an sizable and eclectic selection from electronics and jewelry to furniture, but there are no price tags on anything and no matter which item I am inquiring about, they always quote a number so outrageous I have no choice but to turn around and walk out. Paint-​splattered desk chair? $ 25.00. Scarred Formica side table? $ 80.00. Sweat-​stained desk chair with partially-​functioning adjustment controls? $ 20.00 (I’m always in the market for a good desk chair). And they don’t seem interested in negotiating. I can only speak for my own experiences and they seem to do a pretty brisk afternoon business so I am willing to accept that it’s just me that they treat with undisguised contempt. It’s a shame, though, because I live so close and, like many of you, I need to buy stuff on a fairly regular basis.

Not a huge selection, but I got an amazing deal on a large L shaped desk and a new full size bed (mattress, box spring, and frame) plus free delivery! Service was excellent also, definitely recommend.
