Peepshow Menagerie consistently delivers some of the best comedy, music, variety arts and burlesque in Los Angeles(no small feat, as some of the best burlesque shows and troupes in the world are all there). Their themed shows — like Burlesqueland and Capcom Vs. Marvel, just to name a few — always deliver and ensure that there is something for everyone. Producers Miss Scarlett Letter and Chris Beyond have the passion, drive, talent and access to some of the best talent LA has to offer. And their emcees are terrific — especially try to attend when writer and emcee Patrick the Bank Robber is at the helm. But whenever you go, you’re guaranteed a fun, unforgettable and often sold out/standing room only show. Highest possible rating!

So this has been the first time in over twenty five years that I have attended a burlesque show. Myself and other friends where invited by Pixie Harlow. We were not disappointed by this show at all. We seen the Capcom VS. Marvel show. The acts where sexy, funny and their positive attitude made this a pleasant venue. The only thing is I got there hungry. They had snacks like cupcakes, chips and stuff like that. But you are more than welcome to grab some outside food to bring in. So feed yourself before you enter. The great thing is during the break between shows the performers socialize with the audience and take pics if you like. Well of course our favorite Pixie Marlow spent some time with our group and we got some really great shots. Right now we are planning to see the next show and many more. It’s a great place to spend a Friday evening. It reminded me of greenwhich village New York with a old school vintage vibe

Brought my aunt for her birthday to see the show on 1÷17÷14. We thought it was great very entertaining. The show was funny. The crowd was loving it. Definitely get there early or you get stuck standing or sitting in the back and craining your neck to see the show. 5 stars for the show but 3 for the venue.

Only bitter angry people leave one star reviews for performers. If you have a problem with the management, direct it to the management. All you are doing is hurting the performers! Now– yes, the show starts late and runs a little long(I could do without the opening act at Friday night’s A Strip in Time(which was FANFUKKINGTASTIC!)). They have a true variety in performers, which was lovely. Each of the women had a personality that shown through on stage, and they were an absolute pleasure to talk with during intermissions as well. Too many burlesque shows in LA focus on the«look» of their performers and not enough on the entire aura. I loved each of every one of the acts and hope to see more Peepshow productions in the near future!

I went to the Harry Potter burlesque. Unfortunately, this was not a traditional burlesque; it focused almost exclusively on striptease. A few of the numbers were interesting, but most of the dancers used the same general moves and only one was truly inventive(the dragon). Furthermore, while the show was advertised to begin at 9:30, it didn’t start until 11. A live country band played for about 45 minutes, which was disappointing, as that type of music really didn’t seem to appeal to the HP crowd(people were basically yelling for them to get off the stage). Finally, by 12:15, the show had already taken TWO fifteen-minute intermissions. I just left before the end. I felt sorry for the people standing(most of the audience)!

DOCTORWHO + BEWBS = NERDGASM. Seriously, I had so much fun. I am a big Doctor Who fan so I was elated to see so many fantastic numbers dedicated to such a great tv show. Plus, the telephone bits between the Cybermen and Daleks, burlesque numbers dedicated to the Weeping Angel, Cyberwoman and many, many other cool moments made me even more excited to see dinosaurs on a spaceship that following Saturday. Well done Peepshow! I had a nerdy, sexy good time. :)
