First, the cashier was being a jerk! He kept cutting me off and was upset when we added something to our order. It wasn’t like we said we were done, just decided that I wanted a shake! I got the asada fries, they were decent but not when he described… Not at all. If you get a burger you might be alright, but don’t stray from the burger!

Nothing fancy, but when you are sick of the endless bourgeoise parade and just want an amazing, cheap, greasy meal, this is the spot. I love getting their breakfast specials or especially their breakfast burritos, both under $ 6. They also have their own parking lot, what more can you ask for? My only complaint is that there is one guy there who will absolutely not let you put avocado on a breakfast burrito, even though you can see them on the counter from the order window… bizarre. The other cashiers are not avocado nazis, fortunately. Fingers crossed for you.

I suddenly came across this lil restaurant type of shack after having spent the day shopping. I was tired and hungry, so I was all welcoming to a good burger. I ordered a regular cheese burger with some fries and it was great. Don’t know what else one could say about a burger lol. My boyfriend ordered a turkey burger and loved that, too. Definitely recommend if you’re in the mood to just grub on some burgers or other cheap deliciousness. Don’t recommend if you’re too accustomed to the high-end dining life LOL.

Not bad. Simple, standard, walk-up burger place. I’m walking distance, so it’s definitely a convenient spot to get my burger fix or a quick lunch.

So the mission for the best burgers in town continues. Recently while on a conference in the Elysian Park area, I got a deep gnawing hunkering for a nice juice burger. I didn’t have much time for lunch and needing to find something near the venue we where in. Well, whenever in a bind for time and ideas I always depend & turn to my handy dandy Unilocal app. I did a quick search and up pop Patra Burgers. Once lunch rolled around I made a mad dash to my car and off I went. I pulled put to Patras which thank fully was relatively empty and the lunch crowd had not yet arrived. I was craving burger but when I walked up to the order window I was overwhelmed with the posted pictures of their other menu items. Before was a glorious wall for greasy goodness, what to do? what do to? While I waited and pondered my gastronomic dilemma, I saw a hamburger special, that someone else ordered, come out. Oh, that burger was teasing me, it was saying look at me, call to me… you know you want me! Look at my warm buns and juicy meat! Well, I decided to stick with my original craving and ordered a hamburger special. My order was out relatively quick and when a got a whiff of those piping hot fries like, the glutton that I am, I went to town! Ugh who doesn’t love fries right out of the fryer? I enjoyed my fries but I think they would have been much better if they made it customary to sprinkle all order with season salt. This place will do it but only if you ask. I think that should be a give me for all burger joints. Anywhoooo, after I gobbled down my fries, my next victim was still waiting eagerly peaking out from the wrapping that kept it nice and warm daring me to eat it! Finally I bit into it and ugggggh the warmth! the texture! the taste! That burger hit the spot. It was everything it claimed to be… simply put it was delicious. I thank my lucky stars that I don’t live anywhere near this place because I’d be here every week trying something new on the menu.

This place is greasy, cheap, and delicious. If you’re looking for a fancy burger this isn’t it. However, it’s great if that’s what you’re in the mood for. Their breakfast burritos are the best around. And their burger fries combo can’t be beat.

Foods okay, a little below average… The place is a dump from outside to inside. Update this place! Lots if foot traffic but the service is slow(20 minutes slow) and they charge for everything including refills.

A damn good burger, fries, and fountain soda for $ 5.99! The meat patty itself is quite thin, so if you’re really hungry you might want to get a double cheeseburger. But for a gal like me, the regular cheeseburger is enough! Portions are very generous here. I actually prefer the fries here over In-N-Out too!

I went in today because my cousin wanted their chilliquilles and I got a bacon/egg sandwich, by the end of the sandwich I found a fly not a large fly a smaller fly. And I happen to find the fly toward the end of the sandwich, and because I took it to them with only about a bite left, they assumed i put the fly to get it for free, when you can clearly see it was cooked in the egg! One of the Hispanic cashier guys agreed with me that it was cooked in the egg an when the Chinese owner or manager came out he said I planted that fly, I don’t know why I would plant a fly to get a 4 dollar sandwich for free I make more than enough to try to save 4 dollars. He offered me another sandwich and I said are you crazy do you think I’m comfortable eating your food! He responded with I am not welcome at his restaurant, doesn’t make sense that because I found a fly in therefor I’m not welcomed. lol.

I’m not the one to judge quick about restaurants dirty tables and bad coffee. I came here on a Sunday morning. Tables were disgusting. We asks if a table could be cleaned and they gave us a dirty rag to clean it ourselves. We ordered the chillequillas and a breakfast sandwich. Everything was going good until my cousin FOUND A BUGCOOKEDINSIDETHEEGG of the sandwich. The owner of the establishment said he wasn’t going to refund as the sandwich was almost finished(I didn’t know you had to find the bug on the first bite to get a refund). He he was very unprofessional and told us that if we weren’t comfortable eating here to not come here then he said we were banned?! Yes banned because we found a bugged cooked in our food. He also REFUSED to let us take a picture of the bug in the food.

Patra Burgers offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you are looking for a good burger to munch on this is the place to go. The price range is $ 5-$ 8 and this includes combos. My regular is a #2, a cheeseburger, crispy fries and a drink. The fries are one of my favorite things here besides the burgers of course. You have many drinks to choose from not only do they offer soft drinks in cans and cups with ice but also hot drinks like tea and coffee. When it comes to refills you do have to pay a small fee of $ 00.50. They always cook the food according to what you like. Burgers is they’re main attraction but they also offer breakfast foods and Americanized Mexican food like burritos. The food is great but the joint itself isn’t so charming. They do have the option of sitting inside or outside but their tables are old and kind of sticky at times. The bathroom isn’t the greatest but at least they have one. The crowed here is very diverse most of the time. During baseball season you will always find many, many Dodger fans there before the game so do plan accordingly. There is always lots of parking in the back so no need to worry about that. This is one of those hard to find good burger joints so try it out. It’s become a tradition for me and my family to spend time together every now and then when we are in desperate need of a delicious burger.

I stopped here on the way back from downtown, it’s conveniently on the corner. My boyfriend and I ordered chili cheese fries and a burger. It’s nothing special. Your average charbroiled cheeseburger. I’m sure there’s better places in the same street for 15 bucks.

I come here at least once a week. The best cheeseburger joint in Echo Park. Fries, a cheeseburger and a drink for 5.99. You can’t find that anywhere anymore except At INO. Haha and they have their own parking lot. Makes it that much easier to get over here. Gotta try it. Simple and delicious.

(Dined 08÷10÷13SA @ 3:00pm): It’s been years… and you still looked the same! My buds and I used to come to Patra Burger On Sunset back in the lean days of college and pre-careers when it was part of our«greasy spork» list of artery-clogging, no-nonsense, cheap eats places where we hung out, shot the shit, and basically acted like single young men. I’ve gone by here many times on my way to Dodgers Stadium, Little Tokyo, DTLA, etc., and fondly reminisced about those good times. On a spur-of-the-moment, a friend and her sister wanted to grab some food and I immediately suggested this place for purely selfish reasons — so I could finally revisit it. Plus, this was one of my favorite places back then. After we got situated, this was what we threw down: #2 Cheeseburger Special with Bacon and Avocado x3($ 5.59 + $ 1.00 + $ 0.70 ea.) — Outside of the bottom bun being toasted like a drunken wino, this burger was dressed to impress! It had girth(felt like a paperweight), flavor(everything tasted better with a nice cut of bacon), color(the generous amount of green from the avocado and the melting screaming cheese were lovely), and the patty was juicy and cooked the way I liked it(and I never said how I wanted it cook). All signs pointed to a happy boy and his burger! French Fries(came with the #2 Cheeseburger Special) — These were plentiful and actually took some home. The thickness was good, the inside was soft and steamy, and each had a light crunchiness. They weren’t seasoned so I worked the Ketchup. Medium Soda x3(came with the #2 Cheeseburger Special) — They had a full assortment of fountain drinks(or canned if you wished) but I opted for some root beer. See«Service» below about refills. [ONIONRINGSALERT3⁄5 stars]($ 2.59) — Each ring was a good size, kind of thick, didn’t crumble or pull away when you bit into it, they didn’t have much flavor. The breading was a bit over-fried but not burnt. And the ranch dressing it came with was very running(I preferred it to be thicker). Service — It was great! The Asian lady who took our order was extremely friendly and efficient with our order. We didn’t have to wait very long before our number 4 order was called and everything came out all at the same time. They gave us each little containers of Ketchup and ranch dressing, but I didn’t know if we were allowed to ask for more(I loved Ketchup!). And, they charged you a minimal refill fee based on your drink cup($ 0.15 small, $ 0.25 medium, $ 0.35 large). There was no waitstaff so we threw out our trash and returned our trays. Parking — They had their own small private lot in the back. Otherwise, there was metered street parking along the main drag of Sunset Blvd. and the nearby side streets(please read the posted signs for any restrictions). Atmosphere, décor, ambience — Although it looked like it had a drive-thru(which it didn’t), it was a no-frills greasy spork kind of place, with its two outdoor tables and benches and no more than ten tables(with retro fruit design vinyl table cloths with a plastic sheen over that) and accompanied chairs inside, slightly uneven linoleum flooring, ample natural lighting as it shown through all the windows, and only one piece of decoration that hung from the wall . It had a very retro feel about it. The order window was outside and the pick up window was inside. No TVs to be found nor music played in the background… unless you considered the sizzling sound of the food being cooked in the kitchen. Attire — It was totally casual so I was in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. Overall, it was good to return to Patra Burgers On Sunset after oh so many years… although I’m sure my body said otherwise; I’m not that young buck I once was. But from time-to-time, I felt the body needed to be shocked with such culinary calamity to test its resilience. As of this post, so far so good. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above(total bill was around $ 24.00 before tip), and not only was I stuffed but I had leftovers, too… which I ate while I wrote this review. And, although they accepted credit cards, not mine of choice… AMEX!
