I recently moved to Santa Monica from the east coast where I regularly ordered from Papa John’s and loved it. I ordered a pizza at this location but didn’t enjoy it at all. The pizza was cold and soggy upon delivery. The red sauce was also very salty and the cheese had absolutely no taste. The only thing I enjoyed about the pizza were the black olives which tasted fine.

I’ve been a big fan for years. Moved to the beach from the valley and my god it SUCKS over here for papa John’s. I’ve had at least three deliveries over the past couple months and every time the Pizza is the worst. And I mean the worst.

Overall service is good. Can sometimes cause a tummyache… I don’t like the fact that they allow their workers to be sick and make food for customers. They should be sent home instead of sneezing over customers food. And think it’s NOTOK to charge over $ 3 for delivery and expect us to tip the driver as well. That IS your tip. Change policy or lose several UCLA students in the area.

This is for Papa John’s pizza in general(in my area). The pizza/other products are fine. But here are the problems: I have tried to order online; the website and setting up what you need to make it all happen is ridiculous — I have tried, failed, and lost patients with it all — done! Finally, I have tried to call and make a delivery happen; the snot-nosed, zit-faced kids answering the phone(reference from the Simpson’s show), don’t know their asses from their elbows. I’m over it! «Fresh Brothers» pizza is in my area — easy website, smart people — DONE! I have been ordering from them for a while and their product is better anyway… Papa John’s — You may have Peyton Manning to help you promote, but he doesn’t have to deal with the shit the normal people have to deal with!

This is the third time we’ve ordered from this location. Once I picked up, the other two times we had it delivered. The only time our order was hot was when I picked up. When we’ve had it delivered, it is always lukewarm. Today I was given a 30 – 40 minute delivery time frame and our food took 45 minutes. I should mention we pretty much live across the street, literally a 2 minute walk or 20 second drive. There is no reason for our food not to be hot upon arrival considering we live so close. Three strikes, Papa John’s. You’re out.

my friend and I ordered our pizza at 730 in the evening, the guy on the phone said it’ll be delivered in 30 minutes… 8:00 rolled, then 8:15 and then 8:28 so we called back,(I have the call log to prove it) all the guy can say was oh, it’s on it’s way. we didn’t get to eat till 9:00, you know how I know? because homeland came on… topping it off our pizza was cold, and the Fritos on top were stale, at that time we were too hungry not to eat it. this papa johns location is definitely not worth your 1 hour and 30 minutes wait. find somewhere else to order your pizza. delivery guy and guy on the phone weren’t sympathetic at all! what a waste of $ 20.00! I recently discovered Papa John’s Tuscan Six Cheese pizza and I am obsessed. They put some delicious seasoning on top of the pizza which completely makes it. I love the garlic sauce that they include with the pizzas… I always ask for extra. I wish that this location had delivery until 2am. It is a bummer that the delivery drivers no longer carry red pepper and parmesan packets. If you decide to do carry-out, there is a private parking lot.

well, I ordered a large pizza(for $ 11!) for pickup and was a little nervous when I didn’t get a confirmation email. I tried calling before i left, and was on automated hold for a looooooong while until I gave up. I showed up and there was one sole employee running around in the back, but my pizza was ready at the time I asked! so in summary, they don’t answer their phone, but are on point with their pick-up orders.

How can you go wrong with pizza from Papa John’s? I LOVE their dough and their sauce! Their toppings are fresh, pizza has ALWAYS been spot on, and the service is normal. I always pick up my order since it’s close to my house… I prefer papa john’s over dominoes and pizza hut ANYDAY! Hands down really good, really good prices too! Their wings are not the best in town. Tried their buffalo wings and they were lacking sauce and spice. But other than that– yuuuummmy!

Just got my 53 dollar order. Gave the driver a 7 dollar tip. Opened the box. It was the wrong order. Called the manager he tells me he will send me the right order. Then calls back to tell me BBQ chicken and chipotle chicken are the same. Trying to tell me to just keep the wrong order and shut up. I love papa johns honey chipotle wings. I know what they taste like. Rude!!!

Pizza came 45 minutes late and ice cold. Called the store three times to ask where it was. First we were told they couldn’t locate our online order. Next, we were told they had been at our house trying to call us(not true, phone never rang). Then the guy showed up after 45 minutes with a cold pizza, and was rude to me.

It’s a very clean establishment with a friendly and helpful staff. Which pizza place you choose is probably going to be determined by one of three things: 1) How big of a hurry you’re in 2) Geography 3) Whether you are a fan of dominoes, Pizza Hut, or Papa John’s Of the three the one that really matters is #3. For instance, my family is a Pizza Hut family. If we are given the choice we will always choose Pizza Hut over Papa John’s or Dominoes. Whereas there are a lot of people that will only eat at Papa John’s. The people at my work for instance will ONLY eat at Papa John’s and I’m not a picky eater so I just won’t argue. As a result, when ever we order lunch for the whole office it is Papa Johns and due to #2 it is always this location. The reason I bring this up is that I want to make it clear I’m not reviewing this place out of some personal loyalty to a franchise and I won’t really review the pizzas themselves since I know I won’t change anyone’s mind. The first thing to know is that this establishment has no dining room. There are three small tables with two chairs each in a small waiting area but I wouldn’t count it as a «dining room». Having said that I don’t know if any Papa John’s location has a dining room. If you are looking to do carry-out be forewarned the parking lot is small and is often full. There are a few designated spots in the lot for Papa John’s parking which are pretty often full although there won’t be any customers in the restaurant itself so don’t rely on them. The restaurant itself is very clean and you can see right into the kitchen and watch the employees prepare your pizza. Which is always a little reassuring to me when a company is willing to show their kitchen to the customer. The staff is also very friendly and helpful and they are still the only Papa John’s I’ve ever used the online ordering system for with any success, and they haven’t messed up the order yet. The only thing I will say about the food at this location is that they do seem to put more butter an oil on their breadsticks than other Papa John’s locations I have ordered from. You may think that’s a good thing or a bad thing but they really do smother their breadsticks in oil sometimes. So bottom line, it’s a Papa John’s. Any food you order will taste like Papa John’s pizza. Which you will either like or not. This is a good clean restaurant and they don’t ever take too long to prepare your order. Side note — I’m getting a little sick of the CEO, the«actual» Papa John. On their boxes it says, «It doesn’t matter what’s on the box, it matters what’s inside. Good pizza that starts with better ingredients… blah, blah, blah.» And then, their boxes are the busiest and ugliest boxes of any pizza joint. Mainly with just the owner’s face slapped all over them in various sizes and different variations of the same forced smile. I mean, is it about the pizza, the boxes, or your face being on everything? I don’t know, my problem may be the commercials that depict this guy playing catch with people in the streets or bringing pizza to random people in the community. What bothers me is that I’ve never experienced that. Never have I played catch with the«Papa John» so it almost makes it a «well, I guess I’m not good enough for Papa John but my money sure is.» It’s the same reason I still haven’t tried the new Dominoes pizza. They made billboards to convince some customers to try the new pizza, so what they’re really saying is that the customer that got the billboard is worth more than every customer that hasn’t tried the pizza and hasn’t got a billboard. But I digress…

Horrible, just horrible. Customer service is nonexistent at this location. When I complained about getting the wrong pizza, it was like talking to a wall. Sorry Papa, but DiGiorno wins this time.

When I ordered… I already expected it to be bad…(You might be wondering if I am kind of crazy to order sthg I know I will dislike… you might be right… But… In fact, I really like giving places a shot even if it ends up being really bad…) The pizza and the chicken was worse than I expected… which was really a kind of miracle to accomplish… Seriously, order a Dominos… at least you will be able to eat it!

Papa John’s has average, greasy pizza, but you probably knew that. It doesn’t deserve much of a description but I’ll give it one anyway. It’s filling, greasy and can be delivered to your door because you’re too lazy to cook a less mediocre pizza. I was too lazy to cook a pizza, and it bit me in the ass. The main reason this Papa John’s scores so low is because of horrible service. I ordered a pizza online and after noticing that my phone number was incorrect, I called the store to fix it. Instead of writing down the correct number the store associate had to put it into the system, which according to him, «voided out the card.» So, I had to give him my card info again. No big deal I thought. That is, until an hour and a half went by and I still didn’t have my pizza. I called the store. They took down my number again. Apparently, they had tried calling my phone(it never rang). Shockingly, someone didn’t take down my corrected phone number like I had asked. Geniuses. Another half hour passed and my doorbell finally rang. I had a cold pizza and wrote some nice feedback to the store. Today I noticed that my card had been charged twice for one pizza. So much for their correction. Skip Papa John’s for Dominos instead. The pizza is better and I’ve never had a problem with their service.

This is not the best pizza ever, and I didn’t expect it to be. It’s a chain pizza. As I write this, I was absolutely starved and I just ate a slice of «the works» pizza that I swapped out the onions/green peppers for roma tomatoes. They are real roma’s, too. Dominoes puts canned diced tomatoes on the pizza… yuk. This time, I even got a free garlic sauce — which they didn’t charge me for. Hate to admit I like that stuff. Put it on the crust and then I won’t waste it or wind up eating two slices when I should only have 1 this late at night. But I have to say that it is more than decent for what it is. I find the key with chain pizza is to order the«tossed» or «NY» style if they have it. The thin ‘n crispy’s are just awful! I’m on a budget these days, and while I’d like to get a pie from a NY joint around here, no one seems to be offering any deals, which is shocking … or coupons. Plus, hardly any of them deliver. When I last lived in Chicago, I had pizza pie places falling all over themselves for my business. Coupons galore — and some of the best NY or Chicago pizza ever. Those were the days. You’d think the way people live in their cars out here and don’t walk around much except under duress, more authentic NY style places would deliver here. Oh wait, I guess they expect you to get in your car and go get it yourself! LOL So I order online, and bingo! I got me a whole pie for $ 10($ 15 by the time I add delivery, tax tip) — with the works on it. Sweet. I shove some of the slices in plastic bags in the freezer for later and they hold up. Still better than a frozen pie from the store and then I can get a slice out when I want it.

If you are looking for something cheap– like hosting a party and you need a bunch of pizzas in 10 minutes or less than this is the place. They have a $ 7.99 large deal with one topping that cannot be beat for the new thin slice crust which is surpisingly good.
