Papa Fritz

I think it’s so important to support local economies — starting with food truck entrepreneurs! I’ve been wanting to try Papa Fritz for a while but haven’t gotten the chance to. Luckily, my brother was home for the holidays and frequented a particular gym in DTLA so he got the chance to hunt down Papa Fritz after one of his workouts.
I’m so glad he bought home some of the bulgogi frites (french fries topped with marinated beef — korean fusion!) to share with me and my parents. The fusion flavors were savory and addicting and the fries had the perfect texture (crispy and fresh). I cannot wait to visit this food truck myself so I can try all of their waffle sammiches and dessert selections.
If you’re in the LA area, definitely give Papa Fritz a chance because let alone the food, my brother shared with me how genuine, passionate and kind the Chef is!

We have rotating food trucks outside the office, so I am getting to try all of the various LA options. I really enjoyed today’s fare! I ordered the schnitzel and chicken (had them served separately, with the sauce on the side) — this schnitzel was perfect! Moist and good-​sized portion, with a great, complementary sauce. The waffle was good flavor and also good size, but was cold, hence the lost star. At only $ 8, the pricing was exceedingly reasonable for a food truck, and the staff were very friendly in the face of my special requests.

This truck has some problems to work out. From the moment I passed over my credit card and had to talk the cashier through using Square to the moment I was handed cold fries, after they got my order wrong the first time, nothing went smoothly. Not one person standing in line with me got their order right on the first try. The menu is conceptually good, and their ingredients tasted fresh (if undercooked), but until they sort out delivering on their menu’s promise, I’ll steer clear.

Sunday night I went to Chinatown and wanted something a little different. I walked in down all the little shops and restaurants everything look good but it just wasn’t calling me to it. I noticed Papa fritz and walked right past it, I was going to Check on Broadway and totally remember how they drop the ball on my order last time made me wait didn’t offer an apology and still gave me attitude so I walked away. Papa Fred was fresh in my mind so I hustled back to the truck took a look at the menu and ordered my waffle which, which was really a waffleburger. It had a sweet oily an amazing crunch get meat lettuce tomato onions damn good if I say so myself.

I was at the artwalk yesterday and I try their food so delicious their burger waffles was my dish but me and my friends share what we order a bulgogi fritz and the portobello pesto one and our dessert the ice cream waffle everything was delicious aww and Jonson has great costumer service looking forward to see you guys again
