Came on a Thursday evening, May 24, 2012. I’d been wanting to check this place out for quite a while, and after visiting, I must say I am impressed. The night I did go, my date and I had the entire garden upstairs to ourselves. It’s cool that the place is located in a hotel, and it has a «secret garden» feel to it. I can definitely see myself revisiting to have a little stroll and enjoy good company in a semi-private venue.

Maybe 5 stars??? I will decide on my next trip. I would call it a BEAUTIFULSECRETGARDEN of LA. Few food options I had were more tapa-style food, but they were good. This will be a nice place for a quite romantic date… or if you wanna treat your mom for her birthday of mother’s day? Any mom will be so happy and appreciative to be here. I love their pond, trees and rocks… where is my prince now?

Pangea Garden is such a lovely place! It’s a rooftop garden with a nice view of Little Tokyo. I was here for a wedding a few years ago, but was delighted when I rediscovered this rooftop bar through a Unilocal Elite Event. Seriously, who can say«No» to their 444 special? $ 4 for validated parking $ 4 for appetizer $ 4 for mixed drink It’s just a nice relaxing place to relax at!

I found out about this place because of a Unilocal Elite event. Wow… This is a really beautiful place to chill. As you step onto the rooftop garden of the Kyoto Grand Hotel, you feel as if you escaped the crowded, stressed atmosphere of downtown LA. You can’t even hear the city noises. It has a zen feel with its waterfall, plants, trees, and a nice view of the city lights. Who would’ve thought that there was such a nice place right next to skid row? This place would be great for private parties, gatherings, events, and a place to chill.

Wow, what a complete waste of a good space. The 4X4X4 deal everyone is talking about? Literally applies to only a single drink item and single food item, while everything else you’d want is full price. I shake my head, this place is a HAPPYHOURFAIL. The only happy hour drink special is a «blue-jito»?! What is that you ask, oh it’s a half-assed mojito that someone dumps blue curacao into. And while I’m not the pickiest of people and frequent dive bars as often as I do classy cocktail establishments, I gave up libations like this when I left college. I know there was a previously fun Unilocal event here but where this place is now is a ways apart from that night. Despite the advertised late hours and late happy hour deals, this places closes up at super inconsistent hours(so call ahead if you plan on showing up even a minute after 7pm).

This is a truly beautiful garden. Its a very relaxing and intimate space. I love the stone landscape and the water features. The sound of the waterfall and the streets from the rooftop make a perfect combination for a super zen, yet LA, feel. The view isn’t breathtaking, but its very lovely nonetheless. There are two levels to the garden. The top level is a lot more romantic. Well, I ALWAYSDIDLIKEITONTOPBETTER :) This is such a cute and hip spot to hold a small gathering our or private party. Pangea Garden was definitly more captivating in the evening when you can see the the lanterns and garden lights. Someone throw a party here and invite MEE, por favor :)

Secret garden atop the Kyoto Hotel. Landscaped to hide the city skyscrapers from your and aquatected to drown out city sounds. What a great place for lunch break for downtown workers or to hold a private party. Found out about the place by attending a Unilocal Elite Poetry Slam.

This is def a rare gem in downtown area, little Tokyo to be specific. It has a nice ambiance. you have your waterfall, little stream, lots of trees. perfect for a date spot! This is now one of my date spots. Also, the«4,4,4» on Tues, Wed, and Thursday will be worth it! Thats $ 4 for validated parking, $ 4 for drinks, $ 4 for yummy bar food. I will be back next week! Now I just need to find someone to bring… that’s the hard part!

What an ideal place for events such as parties, social mixers, meetings, weddings and so much more. The scenic view of Los Angeles from the roof area are quite enchanting as well. Every beautiful tree, lantern, stone, waterfall, pond, stair, seat provide ample, scenic and refreshing décor. I felt so relaxed when I was near the waterfalls and so motivated near the roof side wall. I enjoyed the staff here who cooked up great sliders and meat skewers along with sultry and spicy drinks. Let us not forget Laurel, I hope I spelled her name correctly she gets 5 stars!

Soooo pretty. This place is seriously a place you could hold a small wedding or a big bday bash even an engagement shower! It’s spacious but a little too spacious bc then you can’t hear one section of the place from another. Came here for a Unilocal event and it’s Soooo pretty. There were waterfalls and lots of plants. Really zen like Japan(well, the old school parts). You could really just meditate too. Also… The view at night is beautiful of downtown(it’s against skid row so you don’t see the ghetto). Ambiance Great, it felt like we were actually in a garden away from the city and then you look out and see the city lights. Service Shout outs to the servers and bartenders — Brie, Laurel, Salvador, another server that I’m so sorry I could catch his name and the awesome cute bartender Nicholas! These people made the night so fun. They were friendly and chatty. Awesome service and seriously, Kyoto Hotel give them props, they really impressed me. You have a new fan of this place… Overall, cool spot.

The way that Central Park in NYC hides you from the bustle of the city, this amazing little rooftop lounge on top of the Kyoto Grand Hotel in downtown LA/little tokyo just takes you to the middle of a japanese garden paradise, complete with waterfalls and exotic trees, rippling streams and lanterns above! not to mention a beautiful view of bunker hill lit up at night. I came here for a private event before this rooftop was properly named, and my mind was buzzing with the possibilities for birthday parties, engagement parties, and any fun gathering of 20-somethings in the newly-hip dtla. It’s gorgeous, hidden, ever-so-slightly hipster, and alluring as only a rooftop bar in gorgeous la weather can be. Recently came back for a Unilocal elite event and it still took my breath away! The drinks were bomb(berry mojito YUMMM) and the food was good — especially the beef skewers and tuna tartare. bruschetta and goat cheese was also good. Will be back for the 4×4×4($ 4 parking, $ 4 drinks, and $ 4 appetizers) and a little rooftop romance.
