This is what a Mexican panaderia is supposed to be with pan dulce baked fresh daily. The bolillos are a stand out with a more eggy texture than what you would normally find. The tamales are a family favorite. The kids love them. This place is all around excellent and certainly a hundred times better than any modern iteration of a panaderia.

Fresh bolios for dinner, excellent tamales year round including Salvadoran style, and good champurado for those cold days

This place is hard to find… No sign out front. Reasonable prices. We tried chicken, pork, and cheese tamales. Very big and pretty good. Also bought conchas, a cheese danish, and a couple other types of bread and cookies. All very fresh and good. Probably would not go out of way to go back but worth a try if you are in the area.

This review is specifically for their Debit/credit use in store, walked in early today grabbed $ 5.95 worth of PAN Dulce then when i was ready to pay i told the lady that i was going to pay with my debit card and she tells me that i have to buy $ 10 dollar worth of bread in order to use my debit card if not she was going to charge me $ 1 dollar extra on the 5.95 that i’ve already have, I said to her REALLY? well first of all there is no SIGNTHATSAYS that there is a minimum purchased to use your debit card and/or a charge of a 1 dollar if you don’t buy the minimum I was very close to walk away and leave the bread on the counter the only reason i didn’t do it is because my kids want it to eat bread after breakfast on top of all this she told me that she has already inform the owner about those signs and they haven’t done anything about it, Now here is my advise with that $ 1 dollar extra that you charge GO tell the OWNERTO go to Dollar tree and get your self that huge white board AND A SHARPIEANDPUT A sing very easy so you can stop cheating the customer, just do the math how many people walks in there and pays with debit card if you think about The Owner pays the Rent with only the debit charges in 30 days i would probably estimate at least 100 people going in there every day out of those maybe 75 pays with debit card times it for the 30 days that 1 dollar adds up now a days people hardly carry cash so it’s a sneaky business to do she gets her rent like this, no Wonder i don’t see any signs and it’s also a VIOLATIONOFTHECIVILCODE1748.1 it’s against CALIFORNIALAW very unethical business would i go back Noooooooo $$$

Instead of the traditional turkey dinner for Thanksgiving, my family opted for Tamales. We got a dozen of each that they offered, and we weren’t disappointed, the tamales were simply delicious! This is the second time we’ve ordered tamales from them, and we’ve been happy both times. I HIGHLY recommend Panaderia Delicias to everyone!

Yummmm — went there specifically for their pumpkin empanadas — a favorite of my folks and as I grew up — me too. Then I saw what I call the«igloos» of little white and chocolate pan dulces. then I tried the cornejos… — the winner were the«igloos» which were SOFT and moist! So unusual as most tend to be dry! The empanadas — great! Will be back! PS cheap too.

This review is specifically for their tamales. I decided to try it out since someone on Unilocal said they were to «die for» and they would«binge» on them. So I had family from out of town who were dying to try some authentic tamales from LA. I decided to grab 10 tamales from this place. UGH!!! They were DEFINITELYNOTTODIEFOR. The chicken tamales were so dry and had absolutely no flavor. Plus they put so much of the corn pieces than the meat. I was completely disappointed by their tamales. Tasted old and like leftovers. Definitely not coming back here.

Tamales to die for !! Very very good. Hefty in size, delicious. Little hole in the wall, signage barely visible. Park in the lot with the graffiti wall approximately 4 doors down next to B of A bank.

The quality of service and their products have gone down hill! I went today at 6:45am because I was in a rush and the other bakery I like doesn’t open until 7am… Anyways… I wanted some sweet bread(conchas) and they were stale ! You would think at that hour everything would be fresh! Oh and the women that work there could learn a thing or two about customer service. They look like they should be working at the DMV with their attitude! Now I remember why I haven’t been there in a while… Oh and take cash they charge for debit card.

My go-to neighborhood bakery for fresh bolillos. The mini-turnovers are a nice treat, filled with either guava jelly or milk caramel(cajeta). Regular size turnover filled with pumpkin is also a solid option.

the tamales are the best i go on tamale binges and come here for 5days straight. the bolios or always fresh and delicious, the pan dulce is authentic and delicioso. the older ladies that work are always sweet but i agree with most of these Unilocalers, the younger girls that work there need a serious attitude adjustment they usually ALWAYS have a stick up their ass… but hey that hlp for ya sometimes lol either way i love delicias and i hope you hipsters never ever make it go away

The lady at the counter was pretty rude but the pan dulce is good. She needs a get a little more«dulce» in her attitude. Oh well…

Best bakery in my neighborhood. Fresh, good selection. I always get meeting snacks here. Churros could use work, but the pan dulce is yummy, and the cheese Danish is heavenly.

Great neighborhood bakery, located on my favorite boulevard in Highland Park. Love the tortilla chips and tres leches cake(random combination, right?) It’s a little difficult to find, but it’s definitely worth the search! Support your local businesses!

Yeah mostly pretty solid reviews for this place, sorry to bust your bubble but I gotta keep it real… One review even talks about«How Great it SMELLS from outside»… Well Yeah I totally agree it smells AWESOME… BUTWHAT Panaderia doesn’t??? Anyhow Tis the Season… Blah, Blah, Blah Bah Humbug is what I say!!! I went i to grab some Tamales and Pan Dulce nad while most were not bad/pretty good it was far from 5 Star. Tamales: Pork w/Red Chili, Chicken w/Green Chili and Cheese w/Rajas that’s what they had to offer that day, well with the exception of tamales dulce and I despise them. Pork — BIG Disappointment the masa was way too thick with barely ant pork though the red salsa had good flavor, I’d only give these 1-Star Chicken — Masa was much thinner with a nice amount of meat w/green salsa that was very good 4-Stars Cheese — Masa very similar to the chicken, cheese had a simi-firmness or bite while still soft or partially melted not oozing, *(Rajas) for those who don’t know is a roasted chili pepper typically Jalapeño, Poblano or Anaheim. Honestly I forgot what they used, more importantly the tamale was good! 4-Stars Pan Dulce: Conchas —(Chocolate) The Wife’s favorite… were dry! 1-Star Puerquitos — My Favorite were good… 3.5-Stars Elote, Empanada de Pina, Tortuga, Galletas y Ojo de Buey ALL were pretty average 3 — 3.5 stars nothing special though they were good.

Chocolate & sugar donuts Mexican style = YUM! Champurado = Double YUM! Great selection of mexican sweet breads. Pick out a whole tray full and you won’t be sorry with your picks. My personal favorite is the cajeta filled empanada! ohhhhhhhh sweet goodness! The chicken tamales are good too but they sure are spicy so be ready with a cool drink when you eat them!

They stuffed their churro with some sort of custard. My churro is not hot off the fryer. I bet it would be better if it was! For the«green» people: they discontinued the use of plastic bags about 4 years ago. Street parking.

You know what’s a downer? When food does not taste as good as it smells. It’s always such a tragedy to go to be enticed into a restaurant nose-first, only to be let down by sub-par flavors. Delicias Bakery is completely the opposite of this scenario. Anyone who has sat out front, waiting for the 81 bus, could tell you that impressive will power is needed in order to keep from racing inside and going on a baked goods bender before your bus shows up. I know this because I often use the 81 bus to get to and from Downtown. Fun fact: the 81 bus runs all night, so save that cab fare(or parking money) and get twice as loaded. You’re welcome. Anyway, I have run into this bakery multiple times while waiting for one bus, which is a little embarrassing, but good lord, that sweet, starchy smell that wafts outside can be torturous when you’re stuck, waiting. The tamales are super delicious and the size of my forearm! The pork ones are nice and spicy. I love their tres leches cake and the cinnamon rice pudding, which is not too sweet. All of their pan dulces are tasty, too, and they often have little baskets of avocados for sale. They are excellent avocados, too. The staff is also super nice and they never give me funny looks for running back in here every five minutes while I wait for the bus.
