P C Colour Lab

This review is for the framing and NOT for the photo lab. I’m unsure if Gary still works here or not but when I was getting stuff developed here he was TOTALLY the man. Id come in pretty much every week and his turnaround was great. 5 stars for the lab if it still exists.
As for the framing I had a nightmare experience when I needed to get some prints mounted by a particular date which happened to be the date of an art show I was in. It was a saturday. I discussed with Peter that I would be picking them up on Saturday and he promised me they’d be ready. We literally spoke on the phone the evening prior. I show up an hour before the place closed on Saturday only to find it CLOSED ALREADY. So you can imagine the horror of having to reprint and mount those photographs in time for an art show on A SATURDAY IN LESS THAN 5 HOURS. So I never went back again and never will. I’m pretty sure my prints are still there somewhere.

Excellent lab, beautiful mountings and frames. And most beautiful printing.

Great find. Not sure about mounting/​framing, but it’s highly recommended for lambda prints. Friendly to work with and reliable.

Excellent quality prints. We’re talking Lambda C-​Prints — not inkjet!
And I don’t want to say this too loudly, because I hope they keep it this way — but their prices are incredibly reasonable — often the same as other places that use ink jet printers.
Try to get this type of quality elsewhere and you’ll likely pay up to 2 – 3 times as much.
Gary is incredibly helpful and really knows the business. I found this place to be fast, flexible, reliable and the quality to be top notch.

Gary and Peter at PC are top drawer, have been in the business for years and TOTALLY know what they are doing. Also it is cool that they offer both printing AND framing and plexi face-​mounting there.

I needed to have a few photographs blown up for an art gallery and PC Colour Lab is just down the street from where I work. They were very friendly and helpful, and the photos looked beautiful, with the exception of one. The last print was very very dark – to the point where you could not see a majority of what was in the photo. The printer claimed that the negative was dark and that if he had printed lighter it would have been grainy and washed out. I’m not sure if he was telling the truth, but either way I would have avoided the problem if I had presented the lab with an example.
They print directly from the negative, not from scans, and were quite cheap for their services. I plan to go back and get more done (and bringing examples of the print along)!
