I visited this place during the August NELA Art Walk and I was amazed at the silkscreening workshop they were holding A confrontational type of exhibit was on display, nothing violent but about taking a stand against certain hinderance on people’s lively hood I will check them out again during the September art walk, I wonder what exhibit they will have. Some of the shirts up there were pretty cool, I might just pick one up

Outpost moved to a new Highland Park location in October 2009. The new spot is just down the way from Café de Leche and is a great place to meet up, hang out, look through art magazines, listen to local and visiting artists speak about their work, and much more. The new address is 1268 N. Ave 50, LACA90041.

Focusing on regions such as Eastern Europe or North America for year long cycles, this nonprofit hosts artist exchanges to engage the community with art processes/projects. If you’ve wanted to interact with someone from Moldova, this is the place to go. Past events have included a Ukrainian video screening, gatherings to introduce the foreign artists to the local community, and lecture on post-Soviet politics. They have international visiting artist programs and weekly workshops. They’ve only been in this space for less than two years.
