I would never recommend this place to anyone. This place has the worst tasting neng myun, which ironic because that’s what they«specialize» in. My parents and I ordered mul neng myun and sekki neng myun… Never again. It tasted like water. I poured in half a bottle of vinegar for taste…

Ordered two types of neng myun plus the kimchi stew and everything was way too sweet. Service was okay and the banchan(side dishes) weren’t bad but probably won’t be back.

Soowon Galbi was too busy on Saturday night, so ze familia and I decided to go galbi-house hunting. Woo hoo! Drove down Olympic when my dad decided to pull in front of this shady looking plaza in which oh jang dong is oh-so-unbecomingly located. The night we went, there was no valet, I’m not sure about other nights, but the problem was the parking lot is oddly organized. Allows people to double-park, but also causes entrapment(ergh…). The interior is brighter and cleaner than the outside would suggest and the workers are super friendly. We ordered neng-myun, and the lady was nice enough to tell us about a «special» on neng-myun for 1.99. Hell yea! I love my galbi with some vinegar-soaked noodles! The marinated galbi portions were fairly big and juicy. yummy. My only criticism of the meat is that it was a little on the sweet side. But the texture was tender and lovely. They use shiny metal pans over a flame and not those grills, which is good because the meat doesn’t burn. Yay!
