This place never disappoints. I always get the torta Oaxaqueña, no meat just quesillo. It’s always perfect, it always tastes the same. They add these amazing picketed jalapeños that I believe are homemade. The staff is always friendly.

As close to homemade as you can get! Delicious tamales de frijol and tostadas de quesillo, it’s too bad they don’t serve molotes anymore but overall everything is delicious. If you stop by you must try their nieve de leche quemada con nieve de tuna!

Went here because heard a lot of buzz. Noticed the line was not as big as it usually is so i decided to check it out. It was so good but having to wait for 25 mins is kind of a bummer, besides that 10 out of 10.

I wouldn’t mind stopping here on a daily basis but it seems like I get pushed away by the horrible attitude you receive from their employees(specially the guy on the cashier with the glasses).

I needed a quick pick me up before trying to battle the LA freeways and I found this place by chance. Enticed by the beautiful pictures of fruits and veggies, Oaxacalifornia seemed like a great place to get a drink and a quick bite to eat. This café and juice Bacar is located in a food court called Mercado La Paloma. I think it is the only business in the food court that focuses more on fresh juices and agua fresca. I ended up with a watermelon agua fresca, one size only. It was about $ 3. First few sips tasted good but after awhile it started tasting a little artificial. Ended up not finishing the rest of it and giving it to my bf. I also got the chicken tomatillo tamale($ 1.50) and the cashier was kind enough to warm it up or me and put it in a to go box. That tasted pretty good! And so filling for cheap. Overall, I still think this is a great place to stop for a quick bite to go. I think I will opt for one of the fresh juices next time, but there were quite a few other agua frescos that probably might could have been really refreshing and less sweet.

This is one of the best places in Mercado La Paloma but easy to overlook. The food is great, not pricy and they make it quickly. They don’t bring it to your table usually but who cares? The sandwiches and wraps are great, but for something light I like to get the tostada with their special cheese and extra jalapeños. The cucumber agua fresca is divine. And if I need to cool off my mouth from the side of spicy jalapeños and pickled carrots there is rose flavored ice cream! Last time I was there they had coconut pressed inside marinated limes in a jar by the counter and I got two. Yum.

I had my first Chamango… ever! It was sooooo good. I have no complaints other than that I wish I had a longer spoon to go with the large. A must try in LA. Beware tho, it can get a bit spicy!

must try the CHAMANGO — fresh mango slices, mango sorbet with the chili pepper on top and a straw covered with tamarind candy. It is big enough to share with two people. Also tried the tamales which were decent. I’ll definitely come back for another chamango sometime soon! My only complaint is that service is kind of slow

We wanted dessert after our Chichen Itza dinner and picked this place. Ordered fresh mango and coconut cookie. Mango($ 5.00): It was sour but freshly cut. Coconut cookie($ 1.00): it was overly sweet but in a good way. QUICKTIP: $ 5MINIMUMFORPARKINGVALIDATION. $ 0.50CHARGEFORCREDITCARD. 2.5 stars! Why didn’t I get the chamango or bionic? Oh well. maybe I’ll get the juice next time. Oaxacalifornia Juice Bar and Ice Cream is not yummylicious!

On the counter you can find a large, clear, plastic jar with a white cap. Huddled and floating inside a vinegary brine are little egg-sized potatoes. These are curiously good and kind of cute. Pickled potatoes. Try them. Cheap. Also, the Vampiro juice made with beets, carrots, celery and OJ is on the money. I like mine cold but they serve it at room temperature so I asked for ice. No problemo.

Everything is very fresh. They make your smoothies in front of you how you want. I got a papaya and mango dairy free smoothy. Very tasty!

Similar to Grand Central Market in DTLA, Mercado La Paloma features a number of eateries and other vendors(though not as wide of a selection as GCM). I saw the reviews for this place and headed over to get a drink. There’s food too, but I couldn’t pass up on the self-serve agua frescas and knew I was getting an HORCHATA. You order/pay at the counter and then grab a cup and fill it up. Really good, but make sure you stir the ladle around. All the good stuff settles. Free parking in the lot and on the street.

I haven’t tried the food, but I like the juice and the coffee here. Note that there is a 50 cent surcharge to use the credit card machine. It’s worth a visit if you want something healthy or to wake up in the middle of your day.

I was in the plaza where this restaurant was located when I walked by somebody eating this seemingly huge tortilla thing that looked like pizza. I stopped and asked, and told me it was a ‘clayuda’. After a friendly chat from him, I decided to order it. It is the size of the pizza, but the crust is like a peppery flat bread. It is talked with mashed black beans, some white cabbage, and then fresh oaxacan cheese(slightly salty. so yum). One order can feed two moderately hungry people. There are also scatterings of tomato and avocado slices on the dish(I uploaded a picture in their photo album). Also for the chicken, it is really fresh boiled chicken. One order pretty much feeds two people. For the record, I think the title of the restaurant is misleading. they have much more than juices.

Good shakes & juices. The Oaxacan ice creams are hit and miss. I’m reiterating what someone else said: AVOIDTHELECHEQUEMADA at all costs. Ecch. Also to avoid was their Cecina, a thin steak, torta + Monkey shake & carrot/orange juices are solid. ++ A good alternative to pastries for morning meetings are their«Bionico»(Bee-OH-Knee-Ko) trays. It’s essentially fruit salad topped with yogurt, oats & grains, shredded coconut & raisins. Super yummy, filling, and a hit with most ready in minutes!
