O Sushi is a fairly okay place — it’s not exactly the go-to place for sushi/Japanese but if you work around here and have limited options, it’s not that bad either. I mostly get lunch for the office here so calling definitely helps with cutting down the pick up time(otherwise, it takes about 10 minutes when it’s not too busy). Service is usually not too bad — expect during the lunch service for things to be a little chaotic with multiple orders from all-around. If you are eating in, they have table/bar service and daily specials. Food-wise, you have a pretty wide variety of Japanese cuisine here from Japanese salads, sushi to bento boxes. A few that I’ve ordered over the past year: –Bento Box: About $ 9.50 for 2 items/$ 11.50 for 3 items, you can choose X number of items such as chicken teriyaki to California rolls. Some items to have a $ 1 surcharge so do be careful. The bento boxes come with rice/salad/miso soup. All of the side items are a bit meh — sometimes the rice is a bit chewy, the salad over-dressed and the miso soup too powdery. The best deal though comes with the actual items you order such as the chicken teriyaki and the California rolls which aren’t too bad. Usually wasabi/ginger should also come with the order. –Spicy Tuna bowl: For about $ 13.50, you get a generous helping of rice and some spicy tuna. This is way over-sauced but for those that like the sauce and tuna(and rice), it should be a good deal. Otherwise, do be aware. All-around, the food usually is fairly okay. Prices are fairly normal too for the area. Again, O Sushi isn’t an eye-opener by any means — it serves it’s purpose as being a quick and easy way to eat some okay Japanese food in the area.

Surprisingly decent for a corner sushi place. Not the cheapest, but prices are still very reasonable and the salmon roll and spicy tuna roll are better than expected. Sashimi is kinda eh, but that would be asking a lot for a place like this. Salad is a bit more disappointing, the dressing was a bit too thick, but who cares about salad at a strip mall sushi joint? 3.5 stars, but I feel a bit generous.

Surprisingly good, for a little storefront shop. The tiger roll was as good as any you can find in Little Tokyo or the O.C. The waitress was prompt and courteous. A good deal for $ 12.

For the price point, can’t be beat! Pretty much what’d you want and expect from affordable sushi. My husband orders the spicy tuna bowl at least once a week and I usually get the bento box or teriyaki chicken bowl. Everything is good and service is nice and fast.

Came here for the first time for lunch and it was okay. I ordered the crunchy shrimp tempura roll. It looked nothing like the picture. It had sprinkles of crunch but in the picture the roll was coated in crunch. My roll kept falling apart because they don’t use enough seaweed wrap. The taste was just ok. Reminded me of sushi I’ve had at the mall. If you dine in you get a free miso soup and drink but you have to spend $ 10. I didn’t see the last part so I got charged for my drink. I will probably be back.

I used to come to this place to sit down and eat, but now that I don’t have much time I like to order my sushi for delivery or to go. The restaurant is small and is located inside a shopping center. I enjoy ordering for pick up from here. Tonight I wanted a night in and was craving some sushi. I ordered an avocado and spicy tuna roll for pick up, I specifically told them that I wanted spicy mayo on the side. My mom went to pick up my food, came back with the correct order just how I liked it. Rice on the outside, spicy mayo, and ginger on the side. Chop sticks provided of course along with packets of soy sauce. The rolls are not small, they’re perfect size and it surely made me feel full. Will definitely order for pick up again from this place! Thank you O Sushi!

Delivery took forever. When I called to inquire into the status of my order, I was told that the driver had just left the restaurant. I reminded the server that I have been waiting for over an hour(20 minutes longer than the estimated delivery time), she responded by repeating to me that the driver had just left, only this time with a little something extra in her tone. I don’t remember ordering attitude and sass but I got some anyway! All I ordered were 2 udon soups, which were subpar and cold by the time they got here…1 hour and 45 minutes later. First and last time with this place. Don’t waste your time.

Good sushi for very good price. Quick service! I had salmon nigiri sushi and a seaweed salad. They brought a complimentary miso soup(the soup was very good, but the tofu floating in it wasn’t). Wouldn’t go there on a date(it’s a tiny place in a strip mall, not overly romantic) but when you’re on the go, this is perfect. Very quick service, and friendly, too!

Came for take-out because it’s right near where I live. The place was SO cold. I couldn’t dine in without a coat, scarf and fingerless gloves. I ordered the Rainbow Roll… Cost $ 12. WAYOVERPRICED for this location. It’s cheap sushi… My roll was made quickly, but I could definitely tell. It was sloppy and hard to eat because it kept falling apart … It tasted a little fishy for my taste. A little worried how my next trip to the bathroom will be Sushi stop is just as good and about 2 blocks away Wouldn’t recommend it.

Delivery service usually forgets items that you order. Food is okay. Service could be a lot better.

This place use to be my go to sushi place a couple of years ago because it was close to my house and cheap good sushi. As time went on the quality of the sushi was getting worse and worse, so much that I even asked them the last time I ordered to please make it with some care. Still came out looking like a 5 year old made it, and lacking a real taste. I’ve given this place so many second chances but now I really think I’m never going back again!

Location/Parking: In a shopping center with decent(although limited) parking space. The inside was small but not horribly so, and the décor looked like any other sushi place, really. And it was mostly full on a Monday at noon. Service: The girl on the phone was polite, albeit a bit curt. In person the waitresses were the same – nice enough, but not particularly friendly, which is fine. Food: Ordered the salmon avocado rice bowl for take out over the phone. It was a pretty big bowl of rice, with very little salad on top and a heap of ginger. The salmon/tomato/sauce mix came in a separate styrofoam container. It was a good amount of food, but the salad on top of the rice was pretty sad and wilted. The salmon itself was pretty meh tasting(read: really fishy taste, and I LOVE salmon) and a couple of the chunks had a good amount of skin still attached, which grossed me out a bit. The bowl would have been A+ if it had more salad and better tasting salmon because the sauces it came in were pretty tasty, but the ick-ness of the salmon made it seem as though they were trying to mask the flavor with the sauce. Price: The prices are decent, especially since their portions seem to be pretty big. Although for the quality, you may want to go somewhere else. TL;DR If you’re a sushi lover, go somewhere else.

I’ve been here before, it’s good sushi but I don’t remember being sooooo thirsty afterward. Makes me wonder if they’ve MSG in their seasoning. Anyway, they’re efficient with wrapping up takeout orders n I enjoyed their miso soup. Very good prices, makes you wanna order the whole menu.

I ordered a salmon skin roll. What I received was by far the worst salmon skin roll I’ve ever had. First off it was falling apart, meaning that it wasn’t rolled properly and was already unraveling on the plate before I even touched it. Second, the avocado was old and brown, not green at all — the look of the roll was an overall brown color besides the rice and seaweed. Then, the actual salmon skin was like leftover bits and pieces of salmon skin scraps — there was never one cohesive piece of salmon skin anywhere on the roll. Furthermore, the bits were hard and bitter. I know they were about to close 30 minutes after I entered, but to serve a piss poor piece of slop like that to a customer under any circumstances is unacceptable. The 2 Japanese chefs behind the counter should be ashamed of themselves for letting something like that leave their sushi bar, and letting a customer actually pay to eat their leftover scraps. That being said, they can go fuck themselves. This place is probably good for things like a chicken bowl and miso soup, but I’ll never go there again and I hope it goes out of business.

I’ve been a loyal customer for about once or twice a week for the last 4 – 5 years. Typically by now I’ll be tired of most places, but O Sushi is the exception. Here is my synopsis of O Sushi: FOOD /TASTE /PORTION SIZE: –It varies between pretty good and excellent. I never had a bad meal here. I don’t eat seafood so i stick with the bulgogi(beef) bowl, bento box(chicken, etc) or udon(noodle) soup. The portions are slightly smaller than your typical«American» average which is great because admit it, we can all afford to lose some weight. It’s like filling your gas tank to 95% which means you won’t hate yourself after the meal or you’ll have room for dessert. SERVICE: –Always excellent. Here’s the thing with service… some people are just unhappy/negative people who are impossible to please. If you’re more level headed, you’ll find the service here to be 1) friendly 2) efficient and 3) caring. The staff has always been attentive and they even get to know your name after a few visits. How many restaurants do that nowadays? All the staff is friendly and easy to get along. Here’s a tip to naysayers: If you want respect, show respect. PRICE: –In my opinion, it’s under priced. This is one of those business you visit, experience and keep wondering why they don’t increase their prices because the food quality justifies. But that’s just my opinion. LOCATION /PARKING: –Southeast corner of Sepulveda Blvd and Santa Monica Blvd, across the Mobil gas station. Free parking on site, easy in and out. It’s in a small strip mall with other restaurants. This is a CASUAL restaurant. ORDERING: –In person(cash, credit card) –Over the phone(I find it easiest to do this and your food is ready faster than placing it online; usually 10 minutes)
So there you go, if you’re on the edge, go try it.

Mediocre sushi but a decent price. I think there are plenty of better options in la though. I ordered the chicken udon which I didn’t like. It was salty and the noodles were too chewy so I left most of it untouched. The California rolls were just ok. The service was sweet and the venue was a little cold and uncomfortable. I won’t be back.

I normally wouldn’t recommend a 3 star sushi place to anybody because I mean, who really wants to try 3 star sushi? But at O Sushi, it’s not about the Sushi at all. It’s all about the Salmon Avocado Bowl! I used to work a block away from O Sushi and I’ve probably eaten lunch here at least 30 times. You can try their sushi, it’s not terrible and neither is anything else on the menu it’s all satisfying but not spectacular. But honestly just get the Salmon Avocado bowl with Brown Rice. It’s a light perfect sized portion full of flavor that won’t leave you with the itis or that heavy feeling you might get after a big lunch. If you’re not into Salmon they also have a solid Shrimp Tempura Bowl and an above average Udon Noodle Bowl. The service here is average as they usually only have 1 person working during their crowded lunch hour so if you’re in a rush, call ahead and place your order as they’re pretty good about having it ready for you by the time you get there.
